  • This study aimed to examine the relationship between sexual communication and marital quality. Study data were collected from structured questionnaires completed by 695 married men and women aged in their 30s and 40s. The major results were as follows. For the interaction coordination and postsexual interaction, there were significant differences between men and women, in that men had more interaction coordination and postsexual interaction than women. The results show the stereotype of sexuality in Korean society that men should be more active, and assertive while women should be passive and dependent. For both men and women, those who had more dyadic sexual communication, more interaction coordination, and more postsexual interaction had a higher level of marital quality. That is, sexual communication can function significantly in increasing marital quality. The study results suggest the necessity of training to improve sexual communication skills. For example, in educational programs for couple enrichment, it will be useful to include skills such as expressing ones' desire, affect, and feelings explicitly.

  • This study shows organizational designs to increase the coordination between infrastructure and rolling stock operation organizations after rail reform based on wheel/rail interface and train/track interaction. Information sharing, face-to-face meeting, liaison role, task force, manager responsible for coordination, and team organization could help to coordinate infrastructure construction plan and train operation plan. It is necessary for the organizations to begin to study the interaction between track and train in Korean environments to make the coordination more efficient.

  • The interaction between metalloporphyrins and diazine tautomers was investigated using quantum chemistry method. The results showed that the metal atom in the metalloporphyrin was not coplanar with porphin ring, and zinc porphyrin has the most extent of its non-coplanar nature. The most stable complex in nine complexes was iron porphyrin. NBO analysis indicated that the interaction between the lone pair of electrons on the nitrogen atom and the unoccupied lone pair orbital of metal contributes significantly to the stability of the complexes. Through the conceptual DFT parameter and Fukui dual descriptor, the thermodynamic stability and reactivity of complexes were analyzed. The density difference function (DDF) analyzes were performed to explore the rearrangement of electronic density after the coordination interaction. NICS calculation indicated that metalloporphyrin aromaticity was reduced after the coordination interaction, and aromaticity of diazine tautomer was increased along direction vector of the coordination interaction force.

  • This paper examines the impact of the institutional complementarity between welfare regimes and production regimes on income inequality. Using comparative welfare data by various sources for 14 OECD nations from 1980 to 1997, this paper attempts to answer two questions. First, is there a institutional complementary in regulatory process between distribution and production? Second, if it is correct, what kind of causal structure do we predict? Panel Corrected Standard Errors(PCSE) model, a data analysis method in pooled cross-sectional time-series, is employed to examine the interaction effects between the two variables: coordination in the sphere of distribution; coordination in the sphere of production The evidence suggest that there are powerful interaction effects between distributive coordination and production coordination and that the institutional complementary has effects on income inequality. First, the income inequality effect of coordination in the sphere of distribution becomes less positive(more negative) as coordination in the sphere of production increases. Second, the income inequality effect of coordination in the sphere of production becomes less positive(more negative) as coordination in the sphere of distribution increases.

  • This study aims to characterize the sensibility image and interaction effect of striped necktie according to same-tone coordination and 1:2:3 area-ratio variation on the gender. The experimental materials developed for this study are a set of stimuli and response scales. The stimuli consist of 56 color pictures manipulated with every combination of 4 different colors, 2 different tones and 7 different area-ratio. The 7-point scale designed for visual evaluation of sensibility image included 26 bipolar adjectives. The subjects were 1344 undergraduate students in Gyeongnam, Seoul, Busan, and Daegu areas. The results of this study were as follows. The analyses of sensibility images in terms of same-tone coordination and 1:2:3 area-ratio variation of stripe necktie reveal that the concerned factors are of five characteristic dimensions of attractiveness, youth-activity, appeal, ability, and warmness. In the 5 factors of sensibility image, color combination and tone showed independent effect. In addition, significant interaction effects of area-ratio and tone on appeal and ability were found. Interaction effects of gender and area-ratio on youth-activity were found. Interaction effects of gender and tone on warmness were found. Interaction effects of color combination and tone on appeal and warmness were found. The study results are highly expected to be used as useful sources in developing men's coordination.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of earring(nothing, small, medium, large), neckline(round, low), and hairstyle(bound, unbound) on image formation. Sets of stimulus and response scales(7 point semantic) were used as experimental materials. The stimuli were 16 pictures manipulated with the combination of earring, neckline, and hairstyle. The objects of the study were 192 female undergraduates living in Gyeongsangnam-do. The results of this study were as follows. Image factor of the stimulus was composed of 4 different components, concentration of attention, attractiveness, gracefulness, and cuteness. In the concentration of attention, earring and neckline showed independent effect. In the attractiveness, neckline showed independent effect. In the gracefulness, earring and hairstyle showed independent effect. Significant interaction effects of earring and neckline on concentration of attention, attractiveness and gracefulness were found. Interaction effects of neckline and hairstyle on cuteness were found. The study results are highly expected to be used as useful sources in developing total coordination.

  • The one-dimensional coordination polymers, $[Cu^{II}(L)(NO_3)_2]_n$ (1) and {$[Cu^{II}(L)(NO_3)]{\cdot}2H_2O}_{2n} (2), were synthesized from $Cu(NO_3)_2{\cdot}3H_2O$ and 2-[(pyridin-3-ylmethyl)amino]ethanol (L, PMAE) in methanol by controlling the molar ratio of copper(II) salt. Copper(II) ion in 1 has one pyridine group of PMAE whose an aminoethanol group coordinates adjacent copper(II) ion. As the pyridine group is bonded to neighboring copper(II) ion, 1 becomes a one-dimensional chain. Contrary to 1, the structure of 2 shows that the oxygen atom of ethoxide group is bridged between two copper(II) ions, which forms a dinuclear complex. Additionally, the pyridine group of PMAE included one dinuclear unit is coordinated to the other dimeric one each other, which leads to a one-dimensional polymer. Due to the structural differences, 1 exhibits weak antiferromagnetic interaction, while 2 shows strong antiferromagnetic interaction. Due to direct spin exchange via oxygen of PMAE 2 has a much strong spin coupling than 1.

  • Details of various equilibria involved in the reactions of oxaza- and thiazazincolidine catalysts, generated from either β-amino alcohol or β-amino thiol, with aldehyde were studied by colligative measurements. The results indicated that the coordination of diethylzinc prior to the coordination of aldehyde is essential for high enantioselectivity of the thiol catalyzed reaction. The probable origin of asymmetric nonlinearity is also presented.
