  • In view of the lack of efficient coordination of interdependent task in the collaborative design system, the mechanisms for temporal and resource coordination problems are established based on Petri Nets, respectively. Both of the mechanisms are encapsulated and implemented in the coordination component so as to increase the flexibility and acceptability of the system. We model the CSCW system based on Petri Nets for simulation, analysis and optimization. A case study on the overhead traveling crane is given to demonstrate and validate our theory.

  • In supply chain management, the supply contract can induce collaboration and coordination among the supply chain members in order to optimize supply chain performance. Numerous supply contracts have been examined; however, some difficulties related to the application of these contracts still occur. One of the solutions is to apply the composite supply contract which can assist in the supply chain coordination. This research examines the composite contract of the revenue sharing and quantity flexibility contracts in a two-stage supply chain, which comprises a retailer and a supplier. In this research, a mathematical model of the composite contract is developed; then, the applicability of the proposed composite contract is examined by investigating its capability in terms of supply chain coordination and profit allocation. In the numerical experiments, the composite revenue sharing-quantity flexibility contract showed that it is superior to both component contracts in terms of supply chain coordination and profit allocation among supply chain members.

  • Components are abstractions of system level computational entities, connectors are abstractions of component interrelationships. we propose connectors as transferable abstractions of system level component interconnection and inter-operation. Connectors are architectural abstractions of component coordination in the abstract architecture of a system only. Connectors describe a collaboration rationale for component adaptations, which are then modeled in the concrete architecture of a system.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the present current study was to examine control of upper limb multi-joint movements with differential coordination stability. To achieve the goals of the study, torque analyses were utilized to answer questions about how torque components were differed among various elbow-wrist coordination patterns. Methods: Eight self-reported right-handed college students (3 males and 5 females, mean age=20.6 yr) were volunteered. The task required participants to rhythmically coordinate the flexion-extension motions of their elbow and wrist with coordination relationship of $0^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, and $180^{\circ}$relative phases between the two joints. Mean relative phase and phase stability (standard deviation of relative phase) were computed to for analysisze of overall coordination performance. To determine the figure out characteristics of torque components in elbow and wrist joints, impulse values of muscle torque (MT) and interactive torque (IT) and MT as a percentage of cycle duration (MT-PCD) were analyzed. Results: Torque results showed that the proximal elbow joint generated motions with mainly muscle efforts regardless of coordination patterns, while the distal wrist joint adjusted the coordination patterns by changing amount of MT. Impulse analyses showed that the least stable $90^{\circ}$ pattern was performed by utilizing a similar coordination strategy of the most stable $0^{\circ}$ pattern. Conclusion: The present current study suggests that the roles of distal and proximal joints differ in order to achieve various multi-joint coordination movements. This study provides information for use in gives an idea to development of rehabilitation or training programs for to persons with an impaired upper limb motor ability.

  • This paper considers a two-component assembly system that makes different types of purchasing contracts by component type and studies the issue of coordinating those contracts. Acquisition of type 1 component is based on the long-term contract. In contrast, type 2 component is intermittently purchased under the sort-term contract. We identify the structural properties of the optimal short-term contract and investigate how the changes in system parameters affect the optimal performance. To provide managerial insights, we compare the short-term and long-term contracts for type 2 component and discuss the conditions that make the short-term contract preferable to the long-term contract. We also present a result which shows that coordinating the contracts of type 1 and type 2 components can be significantly profitable over uncoordinating them.

  • Recently, one of the main research on the power distribution system is the microgrid. The microgrid is a combination of power sources and loads, which is controllable and has separable connection. The main objective of microgrid is the deployment of the renewable clean energy and the enhancement of load-side reliability. The modern power sources and loads have DC I/O interfaces, which is the major advantage of DC microgrid compared to the conventional AC grid. The components in the microgrid have diverse features, so there is need of proper coordination control. For achieving economic feature, the active power of renewable energy resources is regarded as major control parameter and the whole operation modes of DC microgrid are defined, and the proper operations of each component are described. From the inherent characteristics of DC, there are two control variables: voltage and active power. Through analysis of operation modes, it is possible to determine exact control objectives and optimized voltage & power control strategy in each mode. Because of consideration of whole operation modes, regardless of the number and capacity of components, this coordination control method can be used without modification. This paper defines operation mode of DC microgrid with several DC sources and suggests economic and efficient coordinated control methods. Simulation with PSCAD proves effectiveness.

  • Superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) has been expected as one of more effective solutions for decreasing fault current instantaneously and various types of SFCLs have been developed to apply into real power system. Recently, the application of the SFCL in a power distribution system has been reported to be contributed to the suppression of the voltage sag as well as the limitation of the fault current. However, the suppressing effect of voltage sag by the SFCL depends on component of its impedance and its application location in a power distribution system considering the recloser-recloser coordination. This paper analyzed the voltage sag caused by recloser-recloser coordination in a power distribution system and the suppression of the voltage sag due to the application location of the SFCL in a power distribution system was discussed through the PSCAD/EMTDC simulation.

  • In this paper we handle a system that transform sensor data to sensor information. Sensor informations from redundant accelerometers are manipulated to represent the configuration of objects carrying sensors. Basic sensor unit of the proposed systme is composed of 3 accelerometers that are aligned along x-y-z coordination axes of motion. To refine the sensor information, at first the sensor data are fused by geometrical optimization to reduce the variance of sensor information. To overcome the error caused from inexact alignment of each sensor to the coordination system, we propose a calibration technique that identifies the transformation between the coordinate axes and real sensor axes. The calibration technique make the sensor information approach real value. Also, we propose a technique that decomposes the accelerometer data into motion acceleration component and gravity acceleration component so that we can get more exact configuration of objects than in the case of raw sensor data. A set of experimental results are given to show the usefulness of the proposed method as well as the experiments in which the proposed techniques are applied to human body motion capture.

  • Purpose - The major aim of this article is to advance understanding of the relationship between market orientation and speed-to-market. Specifically, this study examines the different impacts of component of market orientation on commitment to R&D and speed-to-market and explores whether market uncertainty plays a role of moderating in speed-to-market for market-oriented firms. Research design, data, and methodology - This study collected a survey data from Korean exporting firms. The Final sample size was 196. The measure of market orientation was conceptualized with second order constructs. All items were measured on five-point scale. To confirm hypotheses, this study conducted a hierarchical regression. Results - As sub-constructs of market orientation, customer orientation, competitor orientation and interfunctional coordination foster speed-to-market, and the relationship between only customer orientation and speed-to-market might be weakened when the extent of market uncertainty is high. Conclusions - This study confirmed the relationship between market orientation and speed-to-market, with three components of market orientation respectively, and whether market uncertainty plays a role of moderating which weaken the link between market orientation and speed-to-market. It could be useful to take a component approach to the market orientation construct, because the roles of different market orientation components might vary, contingent on uncertainty in the environment.

  • This Current research for software architecture views and models a software system as a set of components and connectors. Components are ions of system level computational entities, connectors are ions of component interrelationships. In his paper, we focus attention on connectors for the Java Beans-based systems that are built using object integration technologies like CORBA. We present connector model in lava Beans-based system for object-oriented component integration. We start with a discussion of related work of software architecture research and of Object-Oriented modeling that focuses on the description of component collaborations. We propose connectors as transferable ions of system level component interconnection and inter-operation. Connectors are architectural ions of component coordination in the architecture of a system only. Connectors describe a collaboration rationale for component adaptations, which are then modeled in the concrete architecture of a system.
