  • This paper investigates the energy efficiency of energy harvesting (EH) bidirectional cooperative sensor networks, in which the considered system model enables the uplink information transmission from the sensor (SN) to access point (AP) and the energy supply for the amplify-and-forward (AF) relay and SN using power-splitting (PS) or time-switching (TS) protocol. Considering the minimum EH activation constraint and quality of service (QoS) requirement, energy efficiency is maximized by jointly optimizing the resource division ratio and transmission power. To cope with the non-convexity of the optimizations, we propose the low complexity iterative algorithm based on fractional programming and alternative search method (FAS). The key idea of the proposed algorithm first transforms the objective function into the parameterized polynomial subtractive form. Then we decompose the optimization into two convex sub-problems, which can be solved by conventional convex programming. Simulation results validate that the proposed schemes have better output performance and the iterative algorithm has a fast convergence rate.

  • We can efficiently collect crops or minerals by operating multi-robot foraging. As foraging spaces become wider, control algorithms demand scalability and reliability. Swarm robotics is a state-of-the-art algorithm on wide foraging spaces due to its advantages, such as self-organization, robustness, and flexibility. However, high initial and operating costs are main barriers in performing multi-robot foraging system. In this paper, we propose a novel method to improve the energy efficiency of the system to reduce operating costs. The idea is to employ a new behavior model regarding role division in concert with the search space division.

  • This paper proposes a Distributed Autonomous Robotic System(DARS) based on an Artificial Immune System(AIS) and a Classifier System(CS). The behaviors of robots in the system are divided into global behaviors and local behaviors. The global behaviors are actions to search tasks in given environment. These actions are composed of two types: aggregation and dispersion. AIS decides one among these two actions, which robot should select and act on in the global. The local behaviors are actions to execute searched tasks. The robots learn the cooperative actions in these behaviors by the CS in the local one. The proposed system will be more adaptive than the existing system at the viewpoint that the robots learn and adapt the changing of tasks.

  • In this paper we analyzed the search patterns for the anti-submarine warfare (ASW) surface ships cooperating with ASW helicopters. For this purpose, we modeled evasive motion of a submarine with a probabilistic method. And maneuvers and search actions of ships and helicopters participating in the anti-submarine search mission are designed. And for each simulation scenario, the case where a ship and a helicopter searches a submarine independently according to its optimized search pattern is compared with the case where the search platforms participate in the ASW mission cooperatively. Based on the simulation results, we proposed the reconfigured search patterns that help cooperative ASW surface ships increase the total cumulative detection probability (CDP).

  • In this paper, a multi-hop transmission protocol based on parallel communication of secondary users (SUs) is proposed. The primary multi-hop network coexists with a set of SUs by cooperative spectrum sharing. The main optimization target of our protocol is the overall performance of the secondary system with the guarantee of the primary outage performance. The energy consumption of the primary system is reduced by the cooperation of SUs. The aim of the primary source is to communicate with the primary destination via a number of primary relays. SUs may serve as extra decode-and-forward relays for the primary network. When an SU acts as a relay for a primary user (PU), some other SUs that satisfy the condition for parallel communication are selected to simultaneously access the primary spectrum for secondary transmissions. For the proposed protocol, two opportunistic routing strategies are proposed, and a search algorithm to select the SUs for parallel communication is described. The throughput of the SUs and the PU is illustrated. Numerical results demonstrate that the average throughput of the SUs is greatly improved, and the end-to-end throughput of the PU is slightly increased in the proposed protocol when there are more than seven SUs.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to a synchronization of chaotic UAVs that have unstable limit cycles in a chaos trajectory surface. We assume all obstacles in the chaos trajectory surface have a Van der Pol equation with an unstable limit cycle. The proposed methods are assumed that if one of two chaotic UAVs receives the synchronization command, the other UAV also follows the same trajectory during chaotic UAVs search on the arbitrary surface.

  • This paper proposes the location estimation techniques of distributed targets with the multi-sensor data perceived through IR sensors of the military robots. In order to match up targets with measured azimuths, we apply the maximum likelihood (ML), depth-first, and breadth-first tree search algorithms, in which we use the measured azimuths and the number of pixels on IR screen for pruning branches and selecting candidates. After matching up targets with azimuths, we estimate the coordinate of each target by obtaining the intersection point of the azimuths with the least square error (LSE) algorithm. The experimental results show the probability of missing target, mean of the number of calculating nodes, and mean error of the estimated coordinates of the proposed algorithms.

  • This study suggests the necessity and domestic application plan a national authority database that promotes an integrated access, richer search, and understanding of historical information sources and archival resources distributed among cultural heritage institutions through the "Social Networks and Archive Context" project case. As the SNAC project was transformed into an international cooperative organization led by NARA, it was possible to secure a sustainable operating system and realize cooperative authority control. In addition, SNAC authority records have the characteristics of providing richer contextual information about life and history and social and intellectual network information compared to libraries. Through case analysis, First, like SNAC, a cooperative body led by the National Archives and having joint ownership of the National Library of Korea should lead the development and expand the scope of participating institutions. Second, in the cooperative method, take a structure in which divisions are made for each field with special strengths, but the main decision-making is made through the administrative team in which the two organizations participate. Third, development of scalable open source software that can collect technical information in various formats when constructing authority data, designing with the structure and elements of archival authority records, designing functions to control the quality of authority records, and building user-friendly interfaces and the need for a platform design reflecting content elements.

  • This paper describes recent developments and trends of digital reference services. A brief overview of selected research on issues surrounding digital reference service is provided. It also discusses how technological developments in libraries have led to the emergence of new service paradigms. This paper briefly reviews reference and information services provided by libraries, those from publishers, those provided by experts, and those where users need to conduct a search and find information through the web. The current trend shows that the cooperative model is increasingly popular. Some projects on collaborative digital reference services(CDRS) are introduced. Librarians will need to continue analyzing the need for cooperative work in the reference service in a digital environment.

  • The recent rapid growth of mobile network traffic places multi-access edge computing in an important position to reduce network load and improve network capacity and service quality. Contrasting with traditional mobile cloud computing, multi-access edge computing includes a base station cooperative cache layer and user cooperative cache layer. Selecting the most appropriate cache content according to actual needs and determining the most appropriate location to optimize the cache performance have emerged as serious issues in multi-access edge computing that must be solved urgently. For this reason, a cache placement algorithm based on comprehensive utility in big data multi-access edge computing (CPBCU) is proposed in this work. Firstly, the cache value generated by cache placement is calculated using the cache capacity, data popularity, and node replacement rate. Secondly, the cache placement problem is then modeled according to the cache value, data object acquisition, and replacement cost. The cache placement model is then transformed into a combinatorial optimization problem and the cache objects are placed on the appropriate data nodes using tabu search algorithm. Finally, to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm, a multi-access edge computing experimental environment is built. Experimental results show that CPBCU provides a significant improvement in cache service rate, data response time, and replacement number compared with other cache placement algorithms.
