In this paper, we explore the issues of force display in the cooperative virtual environment shared by multiple users distributed over the network with heterogeneous hardware platforms. The proposed method is to cope with the problem of small time delay and the difference of sampling rate in the distributed configuration. In the proposed approach the interaction forces of the participants are just treated as the independent sources of acceleration. Thus the action of a participant simply changes the acceleration of the virtual object and consequently the states of the virtual object will be updated. When the updated states are reported to all the participants, the information on the time of state changes is delivered, too. Employing the discrete state information updated by the other users, each user modifies his own virtual environment and pseudo-realtime simulation can be realized. Excluding the software interface and the communication technique, it is proposed the simulation method for the operation of respective users and the way of calculating the driving input to the display device. For experimental verification we construct a cooperative virtual environment shared by two remote users and outline the results of experiments.

The importance of autonomous driving systems that utilize V2X services such as V2V(Vehicle to Vehicle) and V2I(Vehicle to Infrastructure) for safer and more comfortable driving is increasing with the recent development of autonomous vehicles. Partly autonomous vehicles based on environmental sensors have limitations for predicting and determining areas beyond the recognition distance of the mounted sensors and in response to atypical objects that are difficult to detect. Therefore, it is important to utilize the V2X service to improve the limit of sensor detection performance and to make driving safer and more comfortable. However, there may be an accident risk of autonomous vehicles due to incorrect information provided by V2X. Thus, the application of technology to prevent this needs to be considered. In this pater, we used the ISO-26262 Part3 Process and performed HARA (Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment) to derive the risk sources of autonomous vehicles due to V2I malfunctions by using the communication between vehicles and infrastructure among V2X. We also developed ASIL ratings based on the simulations and real vehicle tests of the malfunctions of major cases of usnig V2I.

In this paper, we propose a method to build a sample dataset of the features of eight sensor-only facilities built as infrastructure for autonomous cooperative driving. The feature extracted from point cloud data acquired by LiDAR and build them into the sample dataset for recognizing the facilities. In order to build the dataset, eight sensor-only facilities with high-brightness reflector sheets and a sensor acquisition system were developed. To extract the features of facilities located within a certain measurement distance from the acquired point cloud data, a cylindrical projection method was applied to the extracted points after applying DBSCAN method for points and then a modified OTSU method for reflected intensity. Coordinates of 3D points, projected coordinates of 2D, and reflection intensity were set as the features of the facility, and the dataset was built along with labels. In order to check the effectiveness of the facility dataset built based on LiDAR data, a common CNN model was selected and tested after training, showing an accuracy of about 90% or more, confirming the possibility of facility recognition. Through continuous experiments, we will improve the feature extraction algorithm for building the proposed dataset and improve its performance, and develop a dedicated model for recognizing sensor-only facilities for autonomous cooperative driving.

Research on autonomous vehicles is being actively conducted, and the effort to commercialize them is underway in several countries. In Korea, platform construction projects are being carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport to achieve autonomous cooperative driving. To enable a flawless infrastructure, there is a requirement to build a safe security agency responsible for the secure operations of the entire process. However, there is no traffic ISAC in Korea that performs these roles. This paper analyzes related bills and acts of the other domestic security institutions currently in operation. Based on these results, we suggest appropriate directions to modify the current laws related to the C-ITS system. Finally, we propose a suitable plan to establish and operate a C-ITS ISAC.

We designed and implemented a fork-type automatic guided vehicle (AGV) with a laser guidance system. Most previous AGVs have used two types of guidance systems: magnetgyro and wire guidance. However, these guidance systems have high costs, are difficult to maintain with changes in the operating environment, and can drive only a pre-determined path with installed sensors. A laser guidance system was developed for addressing these issues, but limitations including slow response time and low accuracy remain. We present a laser guidance system and control system for AGVs with laser navigation. For analyzing the performance of the proposed system, we designed and built a fork-type AGV, and performed repetitions of our experiments under the same working conditions. The results show an average positioning error of 51.76 mm between the simulated driving path and the driving path of the actual fork-type AGV. Consequently, we verified that the proposed method is effective and suitable for use in actual AGVs.

A road system with CV(Connected Vehicle)s, which is often referred to as a cooperative intelligent transportation system (C-ITS), provides various road information to drivers using an in-vehicle warning system. Road environments with CVs induce drivers to reduce their speed or change lanes to avoid potential risks downstream. Such avoidance maneuvers can be considered to improve driving behaviors from a traffic safety point of view. Thus, empirically evaluating how a given in-vehicle warning information affects driving behaviors, and monitoring of the correlation between them are essential tasks for traffic operators. To quantitatively evaluate the effect of in-vehicle warning information, this study develops a method to calculate compliance rate of drivers where two groups of speed profile before and after road information is provided are compared. In addition, conventional indexes (e.g., jerk and acceleration noise) to measure comfort of passengers are examined. Empirical tests are conducted by using PVD (Probe Vehicle Data) and DTG (Digital Tacho Graph) data to verify the individual effects of warning information based on C-ITS constructed in Seoul metropolitan area in South Korea. The results in this study shows that drivers tend to decelerate their speed as a response to the in-vehicle warning information. Meanwhile, the in-vehicle warning information helps drivers to improve the safety and comport of passengers.

Autonomous driving technology, when commercialized, has the potential to improve the safety, mobility, and environmental performance of transportation networks. However, safe autonomous driving may be hindered by poor sensor performance and limitations in long-distance detection. Therefore, cooperative autonomous driving that can supplement information collected from surrounding vehicles and infrastructure is essential. In addition, since HDVs, AVs, and CAVs have different ranges of perceivable information and different response protocols, countermeasures are needed for mixed traffic that occur during the transition period of autonomous driving technology. There is a lack of research on traffic flow optimization that considers the penetration rate of autonomous vehicles and the different characteristics of each road segment. The objective of this study is to develop weights based on safety, operational, and environmental factors for each infrastructure control use case and autonomous vehicle MPR. To develop an integrated evaluation index, infra-guidance AHP and hybrid AHP weights were combined. Based on the results of this study, it can be used to give right of way to each vehicle to optimize mixed traffic.

This paper discusses about analyzing in-wheel vehicle's dynamic motion and load torque. Since in-wheel vehicle controls each left and right driving wheels, it is dangerous if vehicle's wheels are not in a cooperative control. First, this study builds the main wheel control logic using PID control theory and evaluates the stability. Using Carsim-Matlab/Simulink, vehicle dynamic motion is simulated in virtual 3D driving road. Through this, in-wheel vehicle's driving performance can be analyzed. The target vehicle is a rear-wheel drive in D-class sedan. Second, by using the first In-wheel vehicle's performance results, it derivate the drive motor's dynamic load torque for applying the dynamometer. Extracted load torque impute to dynamometer's load motor, linear experiment in dynamometer can replicated the 3-D road driving status. Also it, will be able to evaluate the more accurate performance analysis and stability, as a previous step of actual vehicle experiment.
The purpose of this study is to suggest implications for the development of the senior care industry in Korea and how to apply it to the Korean market. For this study, a case analysis study was conducted on the successful business model of 'Driving Miss Daisy®'. For the development of Korea's senior care industry, understanding of senior, establishing infrastructure for community care, and improving the treatment of professional personnel care should be preceded. In order to apply 'Driving Miss Daisy®' to the Korean market, it was suggested that it is necessary to reduce regulations, develop differentiated services, establish linkage systems with various service institutions in the community, establish cooperative models between large and small businesses and startups.
The micelle formation of NaDC was studied by fluorometric and viscometric measurements. The thermodynamic parameters of the primary and secondary micellization of the bile salt were evaluated. The primary micelle formation was appeared to be an entropy driven process due to hydrophobic effect, while the major driving force for secondary micelle formation of the bile salt is the large negative enthalpy. The secondary micelle provides less hydrophobic environment to pyrene than the primary micelle does. The cooperative aggregation of primary micelles via hvdrogen bond formation was proposed for the secondary micelle formation.
