Improvement Performance of Inter-Vehicle Communication System in Millimeter Wave RF Channels (밀리미터파 무선통신로에서 차량간 통신 시스템의 성능개선)

  • We presented a channel model for the inter vehicle radio link including the reflection from the road surface, side road vehicle and concrete wall. Then we theoretically derived the path loss and delay profile characteristics using the Ray tracing method efficiently analyzing millimeter wave or optic wave. Finally, we shown the improvement of propagation characteristics by diversity techniques, BCH coding and convolution coding techniques. At the result, MRC diversity techniques and BCH coding can't obtained PER = $10^{-6}$ which is considered to be data service criterion. But, we knew that Packet Error Rate Characteristic can obtained PER = $10^{-6}$, which is considered to be data service criterion, when convolution coding scheme are adopted in Rician fading.

  • In this paper, we realized radio controller with Convolution code and CRC code to solve the wired and wireless controller's problem that is present industry spot. We used microprocessor as a controller, and analyzed testing data with and without Convolution code. Convolution code of constraint length k=3, symbols rate 1/2 dramatically improves the radio controller's fidelity, and the number of CRC bit is 16bit(2byte) and the polynomial of /Χ$^{15}$ +Χ$^{2}$+1 is used.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the error rate performance of convolution coded 16 QAM signal with Optimum Threshold Detection with maximum ratio combining diversity in Rician Fading Environments. The performance of 16-QAM signal with CTD (conventional threshold detection) which employs convolution coding technique was analyzed and the performance improvement of convolution coded 16-QAM signal with OTD (optimum threshold detection) which is varied according to fading parameter "K" and AWGN in Rician Fading channel was simulated. As a result of analysis, it was shown the effect of performance improvement to overcome the environment of mobile radio data communication channel.

  • 본 논문에서는 고속 광대역의 정보신호를 효율적으로 전송하기 위한 무선 LAN 채널환경에서 OFDM 전송방식을 사용할 때 반송파의 주파수 오프셋이 발생하는 동기 오차가 수신시스템에 미치는 영향으로 인한 수신 성능을 분석하였다. 성능개선 기법으로 Convolution Coding 기법을 적용함으로써 반송파 주파수 오프셋에 따른 성능 열화를 보상하였다. 성능 해석 결과, OFDM 시스템에서 주파수 오프셋이 커짐에 따라 성능이 열화됨을 알 수 있었고, (BER=$10^{-3}$)를 목표로 하는 경우 OFDM 시스템에 Convolution Coding 기법을 적용함으로써 성능 개선이 나타났지만 64QAM방식인 경우 주파수 오프셋 0.05, 0.1에서 주파수 오프셋에 의한 캐리어간 간섭의 영향이 지배적임을 알 수 있다.

  • In this paper, an adaptive convolutional coding method in multicarrier direct sequence code division multiple access (DS/CDMA) systems is considered. In order to accommodate a number of coding rates easily and make the encoder and decoder structure simple, we use the rate compatible punctured convolutional (RCPC) code. To achieve maximum data throughput, an adaptive rate system based on the channel state information (the SINR estimate) is proposed. We show that the proposed adaptive rate convolution coded multicarrier DS/CDMA systems can enhance spectral efficiency and provide frequency diversity.

  • Viterbi docoder is a maximum likelihood decoding method for convolution coding used in satellite and mobile communications. In this paper, a Viterbi decoder with constraint length of K=7, 3-soft decision and traceback depth of $\Gamma$=96 for convolution code is implemented using VHDL. The hardware size of designed decoder is reduced by 4 bit pre-traceback in the survivor memory.

  • In most DS-CDMA systems, the modulation scheme used is a simple one. In this paper, the error performance of DS-CDMA system employing a MFSK-MDPSK combined moulation techniques in adopting MRC diversity reception and convolution coding technique are evaluated. The obtained result show that the error performance of MFSK-MDPSK/DS-CDMA system in Nakagami fading environments is improved by increasing the number of diversity branch and coding gain. Also the power efficiency and bandwidth efficiency combined system in MFSK/ DS-CDMA, MDPSK/DS-CDMA are better than conventional MFSK-MDPSK/DS-CDMA systems.

  • In recent years, RFID has received much attention because of spread usage in industrial applications including factory, material flow, logistics and defense areas. However, there is only CRC-16 for error detection in ISO/IEC 18000-6 Protocols prepared for 860-960 MHz RFID, high error rates are expected in cases of high level of security and noisy envirionment. In this paper, we propose a usage of convolution code as a method for satisfying the high level of security requirement and system error performance.'1'he signal control function is implemented in a microprocessor with RF modulation and the convolutional encoding and Viterbi decoding are implemented in an FPGA chip.'The frame error rates are measured with and without convolution coding under the channel conditions of line-of- sight and non line-of-sight, respectively.

  • In the case of terrestrial DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) system that offers mobile multimedia broadcasting services, transmission error must be considered. Although DMB transmission system provides the error protection functions of convolution coding and Reed-Solomon (204,188,t=8) coding, additional error resilience video coding methods are needed to satisfy the requirement of BER lower than $10^{-8}$. In this thesis, we propose and evaluate effective error resilience coding schemes using the MPEG-4 redundant slice for MPEG-4 video services in the DMB environment. In this scheme, we analyze the drift error caused by transmission error based on the random noise concept and the redundant slice selection algorithm that selects the most influential slice in the view of the drift error increment.
