Dynamic Collaborative Cloud Service Platform: Opportunities and Challenges

  • This letter presents a model for a dynamic collaboration (DC) platform among cloud providers (CPs) that prevents adverse business impacts, cloud vendor lock-in and violation of service level agreements with consumers, and also offers collaborative cloud services to consumers. We consider two major challenges. The first challenge is to find an appropriate market model in order to enable the DC platform. The second is to select suitable collaborative partners to provide services. We propose a novel combinatorial auction-based cloud market model that enables a DC platform among CPs. We also propose a new promising multi-objective optimization model to quantitatively evaluate the partners. Simulation experiments were conducted to verify both of the proposed models.

  • A growing number of large scale knowledge graphs raises several issues how knowledge graph data can be organized, discovered, and integrated efficiently. We present a novel semantic-based mashup platform for contents convergence which consists of acquisition, RDF storage, ontology learning, and mashup subsystems. This platform servers a basis for developing other more sophisticated applications required in the area of knowledge big data. Moreover, this paper proposes an entity matching method using graph convolutional network techniques as a preliminary work for automatic classification and discovery on knowledge big data. Using real DBP15K and SRPRS datasets, the performance of our method is compared with some existing entity matching methods. The experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms existing methods due to its ability to increase accuracy and reduce training time.

Verification Platform with ARM- and DSP-Based Multiprocessor Architecture for DVB-T Baseband Receivers

  • In this paper, we introduce a new verification platform with ARM- and DSP-based multiprocessor architecture. Its simple communication interface with a crossbar switch architecture is suitable for a heterogeneous multiprocessor platform. The platform is used to verify the function and performance of a DVB-T baseband receiver using hardware and software partitioning techniques with a seamless hardware/software co-verification tool. We present a dual-processor platform with an ARM926 and a Teak DSP, but it cannot satisfy the standard specification of EN 300 744 of DVB-T ETSI. Therefore, we propose a new multiprocessor strategy with an ARM926 and three Teak DSPs synchronized at 166 MHz to satisfy the required specification of DVB-T.

고속열차 위치검지를 위한 트랜스폰더 시스템 운용 주파수 연구 (A Study on Radion Frequency of the Transponder System for High-speed and High-precision Train Location Detection)

  • This paper presents development of the transponder system which provides an accurate train position, especially for supporting 400km/h high speed train. Here, we analyzed an operating frequency band of the transponder system which can be interoperable with the Eurobalise system already installed in Korea railroad as to be used for the automatic train protection (ATP). By investigating the power frequency band and its data frequency band of the transponder system, we presents the adoptable frequency band for the developed transponder system. Additionally, through the real testbed using HEMU-430X, we evaluate its performance requirement and shows interoperable operation with the Eurobalise system.

  • Currently, various technological models and services are emerging because of the development of information and communication technology and the convergence of industries. The ICT car field is expanding because of technological convergence in the automobile industry. However, ICT convergence services are still being developed based solely on technology; characterization of users and their needs is lacking. Therefore, two types of ICT car services that apply human-centered design processes are developed in this study. These processes create services and models while considering the quality and functions of products based on users (instead of technology) when developing products or services. Usability evaluation was performed on the developed services; a human-centered design process was applied to the results to confirm that the derived services resulted in high satisfaction. In the future, these research results will provide useful applications when developing ICT car services and strategies.

A Study on the Change of Education System with the Development of Digital Content Industry

  • Due to the development of science and technology and the emergence of new industries, the environmental change of the digital contents industry is rapidly progressing. The scope of technological development in the digital contents industry is affecting not only the entertainment industry but also various industries. Recently, with the development of digital convergence using realistic content, games, video, and VR have provided new opportunities for the growth of the content industry. The researcher determined that a new education system would need to be changed as the digital contents industry developed. For this purpose, an AHP questionnaire was conducted for experts with a high basic understanding of the education platform based on previous studies. We proposed a platform model for human resource development as an education system that meets the demand of digital contents industry. The education system for nurturing talents needed by future society should include elements that can interest the learning of users. The platform should not be approached from a system point of view, but should be developed from the content and user's point of view, considering the platform's original purpose.

  • This paper proposes a compact, energy-efficient, and smart gas sensor platform technology for ubiquitous sensor network (USN) applications. The compact design of the platform is realized by employing silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology. The sensing element is fully integrated with SOI CMOS circuits for signal processing and communication. Also, the micro-hotplate operates at high temperatures with extremely low power consumption, which is important for USN applications. ZnO nanowires are synthesized onto the micro-hotplate by a simple hydrothermal process and are patterned by a lift-off to form the gas sensor. The sensor was operated at $200^{\circ}C$ and showed a good response to 100 ppb $NO_2$ gas.

블록체인 기반 금융 플랫폼의 성별 수용의도 결정요인에 관한 탐색 연구 (An Exploratory Study on the Factors Determining Acceptance of Blockchain-Based Financial Platform by Gender)

  • 정보통신기술의 융합에 따른 4차 혁명의 파고가 거세지고 있는 가운데 블록체인 기반 플랫폼의 활용범위가 크게 확장되고 있다. 이에 이 연구는 블록체인 기반 금융 플랫폼에 초점을 맞춰 플랫폼 이용자의 수용의도를 결정하는 요인을 탐색하고자 하였다. 특히, 이 연구는 블록체인 기반 플랫폼에 대한 이용자 수용의도에 관한 결정요인 탐색에서 금융 플랫폼을 대상으로 했다는 점 그리고 플랫폼 이용자 수용의도가 남녀 간 성별 차이가 있는지를 확인하는데 연구의 초점을 맞춰 살펴봤다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 이는 블록체인과 관련해 이용자의 수용의도를 탐색하는 것은 금융업계뿐 아니라 블록체인 기술 개발자에게 매우 중요한 사안이기 때문이다. 연구방법은 474명(남성 262명, 여성 212명)이 참여한 설문조사 결과를 토대로 구조방정식 모형을 적용하여 블록체인 기반 플랫폼의 이용자 수용의도 구조를 탐구하였다. 연구결과, 블록체인 기반 금융 플랫폼 이용자의 수용의도 결정요인으로서 혁신성, 편의성, 보안성, 선호성이 작동하는 것으로 나타났고, 이중 혁신성과 편의성 요인에서 남녀 성별 차이에 따른 수용의도 결정요인이 차이가 있음이 확인되었다.

방통융합 공공서비스 플랫폼 구축사업의 경제적 파급효과 분석 (An Analysis of the Economic Effects of the Project which Constructs the Platfonn for Broadcasting and Communications Convergence Public Service)

  • 본 논문은 정부의 방통융합 공공서비스 플랫폼 구축사업의 경제적 파급효과 분석을 목적으로 한다. 경제적 파급효과 분석을 위하여 방통융합 산업 분류체계를 재분류한 후 한국은행에서 발행하는 2003년 산업연관표를 RAS 기법을 이용하여 2009년 산업연관표를 재작성하였다. 그리고, 방통융합 공공서비스 플랫폼 구축에 따른 경제적 파급 효과를분석하였다. 연구결과 방통융합 공공서비스 플랫폼 구축사업의 경제적 파급효과로 나타나는 총생산유발효괴는 2009-2014년까지 약 3조 3,251 억원, 부가가치 유발효과는 2조 9,760억원, 고용유발효과는 약 13,806명의 고용창출이 나타나는 것으로 추정되었다. 방통융합 공공서비스 플랫폼 구축사업은 향후 국민의 생활개선 향상에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대되며, 본 연구는 사업을 추진하기 위한 기초자료로서 가치가 있을 것이다.

편의점 생활 플랫폼 발전 방향에 관한 연구 -국내외 사례를 중심으로- (A Study on Development Direction of Convenience Store Living Platform -Focusing on domestic and overseas cases-)

  • 이 연구는 성장하고 있는 고령화 사회와 4차 산업혁명에 있어서 국내 편의점 플랫폼의 발전 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 최근 편의점은 편의점 수가 포화에 이르렀다는 평에 따라 새로운 성장 동력을 모색하면서 다양한 생활 플랫폼을 제공하고 있다. 발전 방향 제시를 위해 국내와 해외의 편의점 플랫폼 사례조사와 국내 10대부터 60대 이상까지 총 78명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였다. 이 조사를 통해서 현재 우리나라 편의점은 사용자들에게 편리한 생활 속 플랫폼을 제공하고 있음을 알 수 있었으나 고령층을 위한 서비스는 다른 나라에 비해 부족함을 알 수 있었다. 편의점은 현재 20대~30대를 타깃으로 한 생활 플랫폼 서비스를 제공하고 있듯이 고령층을 위한 생활플랫폼 서비스를 제공해야 한다. 이로써 편의점이 4차 산업혁명에 있어서 경쟁력 있는 생활 플랫폼 서비스가 될 것이다. 또한, 향후 변화하는 사회 현상에 따른 편의점 생활 플랫폼 서비스의 지속적인 연구가 필요하다.
