  • For randomly indexed sums of the form (Equation. See Full-text), where {X(sub)ni, i$\geq$1, n$\geq$1} are random variables, {N(sub)n, n$\geq$1} are suitable conditional expectations and {b(sub)n, n$\geq$1} are positive constants, we establish a general weak law of large numbers. Our result improves that of Hong [3].

  • As the law of Product Liability for consumer protection has operated in July, 2000, many firms of Korea are rapidly increasing concerns about it. This paper is compared actual states with the law of Product Liability among America, Japan and Korea, finds out some arguments between firms and consumers, investigates some countermeasures to increase between the knowledge accumulation related to risk management and capability confronted with it.

  • In this paper, we will obtain Marcinkiewicz's type limit laws for fuzzy random sets as follows : Let {$X_n{\mid}n{\geq}1$} be a sequence of independent identically distributed fuzzy random sets and $E{\parallel}X_i{\parallel}^r_{{\rho_p}}$ < ${\infty}$ with $1{\leq}r{\leq}2$. Then the following are equivalent: $S_n/n^{\frac{1}{r}}{\rightarrow}{\tilde{0}}$ a.s. in the metric ${\rho}_p$ if and only if $S_n/n^{\frac{1}{r}}{\rightarrow}{\tilde{0}}$ in probability in the metric ${\rho}_p$ if and only if $S_n/n^{\frac{1}{r}}{\rightarrow}{\tilde{0}}$ in $L_1$ if and only if $S_n/n^{\frac{1}{r}}{\rightarrow}{\tilde{0}}$ in $L_r$ where $S_n={\Sigma}^n_{i=1}\;X_i$.

  • Let {$X,\;X_n;n{\geq}1$} be a sequence of i.i.d. random variables. Set $S_n=X_1+X_2+{\cdots}+X_n,\;M_n=\max_{k{\leq}n}|S_k|,\;n{\geq}1$. Then we obtain that for any -1$\lim\limits_{{\varepsilon}{\searrow}0}\;{\varepsilon}^{2b+2}\sum\limits_{n=1}^\infty\;{\frac {(log\;n)^b}{n^{3/2}}\;E\{M_n-{\varepsilon}{\sigma}\sqrt{n\;log\;n\}+=\frac{2\sigma}{(b+1)(2b+3)}\;E|N|^{2b+3}\sum\limits_{k=0}^\infty\;{\frac{(-1)^k}{(2k+1)^{2b+3}$ if and only if EX=0 and $EX^2={\sigma}^2<{\infty}$.

  • Let {$X_{ni}$ | $1{\leq}i{\leq}n,\;n{\geq}1$} be an array of rowwise negatively dependent (ND) random variables. We in this paper discuss the conditions of ${\sum}^n_{t=1}a_{ni}X_{ni}{\rightarrow}0$ completely as $n{\rightarrow}{\infty}$ under not necessarily identically distributed setting and the strong law of large numbers for weighted sums of arrays of rowwise negatively dependent random variables is also considered.

  • For the almost certainly convergent series $S_n=\sum_{i=1}^nV-i$ of independent random elements in Banach spaces, by investigating tail series laws of large numbers, the rate of convergence of the series $S_n$ to a random variable s is studied in this paper. More specifically, by studying the duality between the limiting behavior of the tail series $T_n=S-S_{n-1}=\sum_{i=n}^{\infty}V-i$ of random variables and that of Banach space valued random elements, an alternative way of proving a result of the previous work, which establishes the equivalence between the tail series weak law of large numbers and a limit law, is provided in a Banach space setting.

  • A license under UCITA(Uniform Computer Information Transactions Act) which represents the first comprehensive uniform computer information licensing law is not fundamentally rooted in intellectual property law such as patent or copyright law. A license under UCITA is simply a commercial contract, dependent wholly on the parties' ability to enter into a normal, commercial contract, just as a contract of sale or lease is simply and wholly a commercial contract. However, intellectual property rights may be licensed in a contract subject to UCITA. UCITA may not be used to vary or extend informational rights that are intellectual property rights, and expressly recognizes preemption by copyright, patent, or other federal intellectual property law in Section 105(b). Like the law of sales and leases, in general, the right to contract is constrained by principles of unconscionability, good faith and fair dealing, UCITA has an additional restraint, an express power for a court to deny enforcement of a provision in a licensing contract that violates fundamental public policy. This public policy defense is unique in UCITA. An essential purpose of this defense is to give courts some latitude in reconciling commercial licensing law with the principles of intellectual property law. Most intellectual property law is federal, and UCITA expressly recognizes the preemptive effect of that federal law. But the public policy defense gives courts an additional power to consider intellectual property principles purely within the context commercial law.

  • The error differential equations which are derived by using the first error model are uniformly asymptotial stable if the input is bounded and sufficiently rich. In the adaptive control, the speed of convergence of system output or parameter error in such cases is of both practical and theoretical interest. In this paper, the adaptive algorithms(Gradient algorithm, Intergral algorithm) are discussed from the point of view of speed convergence and the modification of adaptive law for prohibition of overadaptation is discussed. The result is compared among this algorithms and the adaptive gain is choosed by this result(the speed of convergence).

  • The revised security industry law revised 17 provisions among 31 provisions in order to root out the violent event. The main contents of the revised security industry law is the intensitfication of the required condition of permission, intensitfication of the obligation, management strengthening of the public resentment of group field, official, reason of expansion of the expenses instructor and guard, dress and equipment, vehicle, intensitfication of the managing director, intensitfication of the punishment, and etc. However, there is the problem including the putting under an obligation of the arrangement new appointment education, cause provider punishment of the service company violence, awareness of the police to the security company, excessive regulation, intensification of punishment problem, supervision power intensitfication of the revised security industry law is excessive the police, and etc. The individual responsibility education completion method and public resentment of group field in addition to is thought in order to solve this that exclusion of the prior education obligation, revision of the security industry law, burden on tax payers of the extra charge, punishment of the violence request contract trader, introduction of the guard qualification certificate system, and etc. are needed.

  • The U.S. security regulation is under the influence of each state's law; however, they are mostly similar. Among many states which has the longest history of security regulation in the U.S., state of New York has been shown security regulation for a long time. The state of New York has been emphasized the importance of security significantly because it is economically, culturally, and internationally important place at the same time. New York's state law of security business includes: 1. private investigators and bail enforcement agents and watch, guard or patrol agencies license law. 2. Security guard act of 1992~,3. Title 19 New York State's code of rules and regulation (NYCRR). The law of New York City's private security could inspire Korean private security law in many ways. First, administration of professional law and variety of licensure could be an inspiration to the Korean security services. Second, there are intimate partnership between police and private security in the U.S. New York police's private security partnership has been started since 1986 by Area Police/Private Security Liaison (APPL program) and there are about 1,300 of security companies participating. This program provides not only the simple partnership but also giving essential information for promoting public safety.
