Information technology convergence has been recognized one of the key drivers in the industry perspective. Korea government established IT convergence policy in 2008 and has been implementing it to the core industry such as automotive, shipbuilding and defense industries. This research analyzes various IT convergence issues based on an operation of defense IT convergence center, one of the industry IT convergence centers. Defense IT convergence issues are as follows : the methods for introducing rapid changing IT to military area, rapid deployment procedures of verified commercial technologies and products, regulations for using of domestic software promotion and so on. We define the concept of defense IT convergence and propose the framework and processes for applying IT to our defense sector as one of industries. Also, we establish various business models in the military perspective using defense IT convergence framework. In this paper, we focus the development of defense IT convergence through the alignment of national IT convergence policy and propose various business models established through operating a defense IT convergence center.

The Korea Convergence Society. Recently, as the 4th industrial revolution is rising, there are many changes in various field of industries. Among these industries, autonomous vehicles based on artificial intelligence, big data and internet of things is one of the most promising industry. Autonomous vehicle stray from classical car domain of manufacturers and suppliers, IT/Electronics suppliers and communication companies are widen their business area to autonomous vehicle technology. In this paper, we analysis the state of art of autonomous vehicle technology and development direction of industries/research institute. Finally, we discuss the social/economic effects of autonomous vehicle.

These days, the environment of IT development goes through converging with various industries and technologies. Also, it accelerates to pioneer new markets and develop new technologies. This trend becomes one of the most important factors to explore new national growth engines in Korea. Thus, this research examines current trends of IT convergence in Korea. The strategic characteristics of IT convergence in overseas are briefly explained for comparing purpose. The governmental strategies or efforts regarding the IT convergence have been surveyed. Some example convergences of LG, Samsung, and POSCO as major IT industries in Korea have been introduced. It also identifies several buzz concepts in this field. The study aims to provide an insight about the activities that are happening in the field of IT convergence in Korea. Finally, the findings through the research have been summarized.

This study aims to analyze the convergence change of smart city industries in Korea. Industries of Smart city can be defined ICTs and Knowledge embedded construction industry. The input output model and structural path analysis have been done using the input output tables published by Bank of Korea in 1980 and 2014. GDP deflator was applied to the input output tables. 403 industries were reclassified into 27 industries and 8 industries categories: Agriculture and Mining(AM), Non-IT Manufacture(NITM), IT Manufacture(ITM), Energy Supply(EnS), Construction as smart city(C), IT Service(ITS), Knowledge Service(KS), Etc. Service(EtS). The results are as follows; First, the input output coefficient analysis showed that The information and communication service industry(ITS) and the energy supply industry(EnS) have increased input to the construction industry(C). On the other hands, knowledge service industry(KS) and etc. service industries(EtS) decreased. Second, the multiplier analysis revealed that construction industry(C) led by smart city had a great influence on ITS, EnS, ITM and NITM directly and indirectly. Furthermore, The IT industry had the biggest change from 1980 to 2014. Third, the smart city industry has created a new convergence of 117, and it has been leading to segmentation of the structure. Change of convergence has been proceeding mainly in the ITS and EnS, NITM, ITM industries.

The overseas expansion is essential to expand domestic geospatial industries in a state of saturation. But current overseas expansion method has be limited to expand global market. Inter-industry convergence strategies may be the most resonable alternative to expand global market through raising the expansion possibility to developing countries with ODA funds and to developed countries with converging global competitive industries. This research investigates various foreign developed and developing countries to draw each demand. As a result, easiness of convergence, confidentiality of information, complementarity of poor infrastructure, responsiveness of various demands and sustainability of system are needed to successful convergence on multiple industries. This research seeks convergence framework to meet this demands, and suggests each component. This convergence framework is consisted of geospatial convergence common framework, inter-industry convergence model and institutional supporting system for overseas expansion.

IT convergence has been approached from national strategic dimension with an aim to drive forward technology development and industrial advancement in other fields by taking the IT to the next advanced level, and has been the focus of intensive investment of research resources. Against this backdrop, IT convergence has emerged as a cutting-edge convergence industry that helps spur development of new growth engine being pushed forward at inter-ministerial level, as well as help turn the mainstay industries into high value-added industries and create new IT industry. Health-related convergence services have shifted its focus towards the exercise/sports and rehabilitation-oriented entertainment experiential industry away from conventional disease prevention and control-centric treatment/therapy technology industry. Thus, this study was intended to examine the trends of IT convergence technological development related to health exercise and present recommendation on the future course for development of major technologies and advancement of convergence industry, given the importance assigned to IT convergence.

This paper proposes indirect adaptive pole placement adaptive controller using a modified least squares method. If an adaptive controller has good performance, it is necessary that an estimator have fast convergence. This paper presents a modified least squares method which guarantees the stability of estimator and has fast convergence. In this algorithm, information on signal level is obtained from the determinent of covariance matrix and according to it, weighting factor is tuned.

This paper considers a method of reproducing abnormal and fault operation for smart monitoring of thrust bearing used in wave power generation system. In order to develop smart monitoring technology, abnormal and failure data of actual equipment are required. However, it is impossible to artificially break down the actual equipment in operation due to safety and cost. To tackle this problem, a test bed that can secure data through reproduction of a faulty operating environment should be developed. Therefore, in this study, test bed that can reproduce each situation was developed and the operation result was analysis after identifying the situation to be reproduced through the failure factor analysis of the thrust bearing.

Purpose - The ICT market in the EU is lagging behind that of the US; however, algorithm and software development within the EU have grown steadily, and they involve focusing on the creative cultural convergence conceptualized as part of Horizon 2020 and connecting neighboring markets in the EE and the Mediterranean region. It is essential to study the requirements to market the EU's creative ICT development in emerging industrial countries after examining its applicability in these countries. Research design, data, and methodology - This study deals with data pertaining to the EU's creative industry and competitive edge. The global cultural expansion of the EU facilitates a new concept involving not only low-cost IT products to enhance local cultural artifacts through R&D and the construction of efficient infrastructure services, but also information exchange with a realistic commercialization of the technology that can be applied for creative cultural localization. In the European industry, research on algorithms has been applied for the benefit of consumers. We investigated how the process is conducted in the EU. Results - Europe needs to adjust its economic structure to the local culture as part of IT distribution convergence. The convergence has been converted into a production algorithm with IT in the form of low-cost production. This is because there is an attempt to improve the quality of transport infrastructure, workforce availability, and the distribution of the distance to the local industries and consumers, using IT algorithms. Integrated into the manufacturing industry, based on the ICT infrastructure and solutions, smart localized regional clusters are formed with the help of grafting. Europe has own strategy to increase the number of hub-and-spoke cities. Europe is now becoming integrated, with an EPC system for regional cooperation rather than national competition in ICT technology. Europe has also been recognized in this study as changing the step-by-step paradigm for global competitiveness through new creative culture industries. Conclusions - As a result, there are several ways of converging with others through EU R&D intensity; therefore, the EU can be seen as successfully increasing marginal value, which is useful in developing a special industrial cluster or local cultural cities that create converged development by connecting people and objects with IT. In fact, when compared to the US, Europe has a strong culture and the car industries have a tendency to overshadow the IT industries with integration of services in IT distribution. Considering the rapid environmental changes, the convergence of IT services is likely to take place in Europe, similar to the pharmaceutical industry and the automotive industry. This requires a focus on human resources and automated systems management. The trend is to move away from low-wage industries, switched to key personnel centers of the local university-industry. EU emphasizes the creation of IT market demand in Europe involving local cultural convergence for marketing as the second step to strengthen the economic hub-and-spoke areas.

By the means of pervasiveness of ICT, ICT firms in the dynamic competition try to get the competitive advantage through the combination with the other industrial technologies and the firms in other industries also seek innovations in this way. To ICT suppliers, the application industries were completely different before but if ICT is applied to that industries once, the convergence phenomenon could occur as a part of an ICT industry. So, this research focuses the causality between ICT supplier's behavior and technological convergence according to the research question about what should ICT firms do for ICT convergence. We observed technological changes in the automotive industry through the Nasdaq listed firms' patent activities of 10-year period from the perspective of evolutionary theory. As a result, while the innovativeness of technological trials by ICT suppliers enhances the possibility of technological convergence, diversity of those can reduce the emergence of ICT convergence. This implies that ICT firms should focus specialized technologies for convergence rather than various technological options for the uncertain future.
