Controls Location and Controls Bound of Korea Agriculture Tractor

  • It is prescribed for the controls layout of agricultural tractors to offer a comfortable workspace in ISO 4253 as international standard. To export other country to the Korea agricultural tractor, it needs to come up to the nation standard. The objective of the study is to investigate for location of control operation of the Korea agricultural tractor after applying the ISO 4253, to know whether it suits or not the nation standards with the tractor of product and supply within the country. As the research result of Korea agricultural tractor, Controls position of them are few in zone of comfort which defined in ISO 4253 and escapes lots in the zone of reach.

제어실의 인적오류 예방에 적용 가능한 ISO 표준 검토 (A Review on ISO Standards Applicable for a Human Error Tolerant Control Center Design)

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to review the ISO(the International Organization for Standardization) standards recommendations on a human error tolerant control room design. Background: ISO TC(Technical Committee) 159 published a variety of international standards on design of mental and physical work, design of displays and controls, and workstation layout design. A proper edition of these standards can be a good resource for a human error tolerant control center design guidelines. Method: Recommendations of ISO TC 159 standards were grouped into arrangement of control suite, layout of control room, layout and dimensions of workstations, design of displays and controls, environmental design, alarm, automation, management system design, procedure and training. Results: It was found that some standards on the design of supervisory control and data acquisition(SCADA), alarm, automation, layout, workload management, and environment can be used for human error prevention guidelines in the control center design. Conclusion: ISO TC 159 standards were not sufficient to cover all the ergonomics area of control center design. Application: Designers can have technical aids from these ISO standards to improve ergonomic performance of their control center.

  • Objective: The present study systematically analyzed the characteristics of ergonomic layout optimization methods by a comprehensive literature survey. Background: Although layout design methods for ergonomic placement of controls and displays on a console have been developed, understanding of their characteristics is lacking. Method: The present study analyzed layout optimization papers published past 20 years from the following four aspects: optimization model, optimization algorithm, design principle, and constraint/assumption. Results: The existing layout optimization methods based on various optimization techniques consider only a partial set of four layout principles(importance, frequency of use, sequence of use, and functional grouping) and two ergonomic criteria(visibility and reach). In addition, the existing methods oversimplify components in various sizes, shapes, and angles by assuming the equality of the components in size and shape. Conclusion: A more effective layout optimization method is needed which considers the layout principles and ergonomic criteria in a comprehensive manner and reflect the diversity of components in size and shape. Application: The identified characteristics on the existing layout optimization methods can be applicable to development of a better ergonomic console layout design method.

분산 가시화를 위한 가상현실 타일 디스플레이 시스템의 개발 (A VR-based Tile Display System for the Distributed Visualization)

  • In recent years, the use of high-resolution tiled display system which does not have restrictions on the size of the screen and implements various layout of tile is increasing in order to evaluate the digital mock-up in physical scale or explore large engineering data set in detail. In this study, we developed multi-channel distributed visualization system which provides a virtual reality-based visual contents using 3D open-source graphics engine. Efficient data structures and exchange methods were proposed as a scene synchronization technology in PC cluster environments. DLP-Cube based tiled visualization system which provides $5{\times}2$ layout of display wall was developed and we validated our approach using this system. In addition, we introduced integrated control program that administrates PC cluster environment in remote and controls the layout of display channels.

사용 편의성에 기초한 작업 영역의 결정 (Determination of Working Area Based on Operator's Working Comfort)

  • For efficient operation, vital hand controls must be easily controlled by the operator from his or her normal working position. The primary working area based on the operator-perceived working comfort was developed to serve as a design guideline to the control panel layout. Six male and four female subjects voluntarily participated in the experiment in which working comfort was measured for two types of controls - knob and lever. The operator-perceived working comfort was examined for the frontal and sagittal distances from the body center and the slope of a work surface. The response surface methodology using a central composite design was employed to develop a prediction model for operator's working comfort on each type of controls. The proposed working areas based on the actual working comfort of an operator avoided the dichotomy that considers only the reachability of control devices, and showed a distinct shape, when compared to the existing normal working areas following the Farley's concept. It was shown that the distance from the body to control devices and the slope of a work surface have a quadratic relationship to the working comfort, and that the most comfortable area for seated tasks is located at the distance of about 2∼4 cm in the sagittal direction and about 42∼43 cm in the frontal direction from the shoulder, respectively. It was also found that the working comfort varies within the working area even at the positions with an equal distance from the body. It is expected that the isocomfort working area generated in the study will be used as a useful guideline for control panel layout.

  • The absorbing material is mostly used to changing the acoustic energy to the heat energy in the passive control, and that consists of the porous media. That controls an air borne noise while the stiffened plates, damping material and additional mass control a structure borne noise. The additional mass can decrease the sound by mass effect and shift of natural frequency, and damping material can decrease the sound by damping effect. The passive acoustic control using these kinds of control materials has an advantage that is possible to control the acoustic in the wide frequency band and the whole space at a price as compared with the active control using the various electronic circuit and actuator. But the space efficiency decreased and the control ability isn't up to the active control. So it is necessary to maximize the control ability in the specific frequency to raise the capacity of passive control minimizing the diminution of space efficiency such an active control. Therefore, the characteristics of control materials and the optimum layout of control materials that attached to the boundary of structure-acoustic coupled cavity were studied using sequential optimization on this study.

  • Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) are recognized as leading causes of significant human suffering, loss of productivity, and economic burdens on our society. WMSDs are associated with work patterns that include fixed or constrained body positions, continual repetition of movements, force concentrated on small parts of the body, cold environment and vibration. Main effort to protect workers from WMSDs should focus on avoiding repetitive patterns of work through engineering controls which may include mechanization, ergonomic design of tools and equipment, and workplace layout. Where elimination of the risk factors is not practical, administrative controls involving job rotation, job enlargement and enrichment, teamwork should be considered.

Ten male subjects participated in the experiment in which working comfort was measured for two controls of a lever type control and a knob type control with respect to the frontal and sagittal distances from the body center and the slope of a workplace. The response surface methodolgy using a central composite design was employed to develop a prediction model for perceived working comfort of each control. Both controls have a similar pattern of comfortable working area, but the lever type control has slightly broader working area. The concept of the proposed working area is a significant extension to the conventional working area such as Farley's or Squires' curves. It is shown that the distance toa control device and the slope have a quadratic effect to working comfort. It is noticeable that comfortable working area exists outside the conventional working area. The result of the response surface analysis also indicated that a little slope of about 15 .deg. for a control panel improves working comfort.

척도 없는 네트워크를 위한 그래프 레이아웃 알고리즘 (A Graph Layout Algorithm for Scale-free Network)

  • 네트워크는 공학이나 자연과학은 물론이고 사회과학의 여러 분야를 연구하는데 중요하게 사용되는 모델이다. 이런 네트워크를 좀 더 쉽게 분석하기 위해서는 시각적으로 네트워크의 특징을 잘 나타내는 것이 필요하다. 이러한 그래프 레이아웃 연구는 컴퓨터 기술이 발달함에 따라 많이 연구되고 있다. 그 중에서 요즘 새롭게 부각되고 있는 척도 없는(Scale-free) 네트워크는 다양한 분야에서 복잡한 현상들을 분석하고 이해하는데 유용하게 쓰이고 있다. 이 네트워크의 특징은 링크의 수(Degree)가 멱함수(power law) 분포를 보이고, 다수의 링크를 가지는 허브가 존재함이 알려졌다. 따라서 척도 없는 네트워크에서는 허브를 시각적으로 잘 표현하는 것이 중요하지만 기존의 그래프 레이아웃 알고리즘은 클러스터를 잘 표현하는 정도이다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 척도 없는 네트워크를 잘 표현하는 그래프 레이아웃 알고리즘을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 알고리즘에서 허브들 간에 작용하는 허브성 척력이 거리에 반비례하고, 허브들의 degree가 a배 증가하면, 허브사이에 작용하는 척력의 크기는 ${\alpha}^{\gamma}({\gamma}$는 연결선 지수)배가 된다. 또한, 전체 노드수와 전체 링크수에 따라 적용되는 힘의 크기를 조정하는 계수를 두어서 네트워크의 규모에 관계없이 허브성 척력이 적용되는 특성이 있다. 제안한 알고리즘이 허브를 잘 표현하는 그래프 레이아웃 알고리즘인지를 기존의 방식과 실험을 통해서 비교하였다. 실험의 절차는 먼저 네트워크에 허브가 존재하는지를 식별한다. 허브의 존재를 식별하기 위한 방법은 연결선 지수를 확인하고, 연결선 지수의 값이 2와 3사이에 있으면 허브가 존재하는 척도 없는 네트워크로 판단한다. 다음은 이 네트워크의 레이아웃 작성에 제안한 알고리즘을 사용한다. 그 결과, 제안한 그래프 레이아웃 알고리즘이 기존의 Noack등의 클러스터중심의 알고리즘에 비해서 척도 없는 네트워크의 허브를 확실히 잘 보여주고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

Self-Assembling Adhesive Bonding by Using Fusible Alloy Paste for Microelectronics Packaging

  • In the modern packaging technologies highly condensed metal interconnects are typically formed by highcost processes. These methods inevitably require the precise controls of mutually dependant process parameters, which usually cause the difficulty of the change in the layout design for interconnects of chip to-chip, or chip-to-substrate. In order to overcome these problems, the unique concept and methodology of self-assembly even in micro-meter scale were developed. In this report we focus on the factors which influenced the self-formed bumps by analyzing the phenomenon experimentally. In case of RMA flux, homogenous pattern was obtained in both plain surface and cross-section surface observation. By using RA flux, the phenomena were accelerated although the self-formtion results was inhomogenous. With ussage of moderate RA flux, reaction rate of the self-formation was accelerated with homogeneous pattern.
