정보통신용 다병렬 운전의 모듈식 무정전전원장치 (Module UPS of multi-parallel operation for use in information & telecommunication systems)

  • The reliability as well as the power capability of the UPS system can be increased by replacing a single UPS unit with multiple small UPS units in parallel, resulting in a so-called module UPS. This module UPS system allows that a new module can be added or replaced while maintaining power to loads, which is a hot-swappable operation. In addition, it has desirable features such as ease of output power expandability, convenience of maintenance and repair, and high reliability. To realize the module UPS, load sharing without interconnection among parallel connecting modules as well as a small scale and lightweight topology is necessary. The frequency and voltage droop method is applied to parallel operation control to achieve load sharing. 5kVA modules are designed and implemented to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed approaches. Experimental results show that the module UPS system has a high power factor, a low distortion of output voltage and input current, hot-swappable operations and good load sharing characteristics.

  • This paper is on the research and development of new SIV(Static Inverter) using IGBT(Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) semiconductor for a wide range of electric railway applications. For the simplification and higher controllability, the direct PWM control method with 3level inverter topology was adopted. In the new SIV system, the cost as well as bulk and weight was appreciably reduced about 40% lower than those of conventional SIV, the electrical efficiency was increased above 95% and the audible noise level was less than 65dB. In addition, the THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) factor was below 5% and the voltage fluctuation on a transient state was below 10%.

  • A bridgeless single-stage AC-DC converter for wireless power charging systems is proposed. This converter is composed of a PFC stage and a three-level hybrid DC-DC stage. The proposed converter can control the wide output voltage (200-450 VDC) by the variable link voltage and the pulse-width voltage applied to the primary resonant circuit due to the phase-shifted modulation at a fixed switching frequency. Moreover, the input power factor and the total harmonic distortion can be improved by using the proposed converter. A 1 kW prototype was fabricated and validated through experimental results and analysis.

Long-Lasting and Highly Efficient TRIAC Dimming LED Driver with a Variable Switched Capacitor

  • A triode for alternating current (TRIAC) dimming light emitting diode (LED) driver, which adopts a variable switched capacitor for LED dimming and LED power regulation, is proposed in this paper. The proposed LED driver is power efficient, reliable, and long lasting because of the TRIAC switch that serves as its main switch. Similar to previous TRIAC dimmers for lamps, turn-on timing of a TRIAC switch can be controlled by a volume resistor, which modulates the equivalent capacitance of the proposed variable switched capacitor. Thus, LED power regulation against source voltage variation and LED dimming control can be achieved by the proposed LED driver while meeting the global standards for power factor (PF) and total harmonic distortion (THD). The long life and high power efficiency of the proposed LED driver make it appropriate for industrial lighting applications, such as those for streets, factories, parking garages, and emergency stairs. The detailed analysis of the proposed LED driver and its design procedure are presented in this paper. A prototype of 80 W was fabricated and verified by experiments, which showed that the efficiency, PF, and THD at Vs = 220 V are 93.8%, 0.95, and 22.5%, respectively; 65 W of LED dimming control was achieved with the volume resistor, and the LED power variation was well mitigated below 3.75% for 190 V < Vs < 250 V.

The influence of sodium hypochlorite concentration on the fibrin structure of human blood clots and transforming growth factor-beta 1 release: an ex vivo study

  • Objective: This study investigated the effects of various concentrations of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) on human whole-blood clotting kinetics, the structure of the blood clots formed, and transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1 release. Materials and Methods: Human whole blood was collected from 5 healthy volunteers and divided into 4 groups: CG (control, 0.5 mL of blood), BN0.5 (0.5 mL of blood with 0.5 mL of 0.5% NaOCl), BN3 (0.5 mL of blood with 0.5 mL of 3% NaOCl), and BN5.25 (0.5 mL of blood with 0.5 mL of 5.25% NaOCl). The effects of NaOCl on clotting kinetics, structure of fibrin and cells, and release of TGF-β1 were assessed using thromboelastography (TEG), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and enzyme-linked immunosobent assay, respectively. Statistical analysis was conducted using the Kruskal Wallis and Mann-Whitney U tests, followed by the post hoc Dunn test. A p value < 0.05 indicated statistical significance. Results: The blood samples in BN0.5 and BN3 did not clot, whereas the TEG of BN5.25 showed altered clot formation. Samples from the CG and BN3 groups could only be processed with SEM, which showed that the latter lacked fibrin formation and branching of fibers, as well as clumping of red blood cells with surface roughening and distortion. TGF-β1 release was significantly highest in BN3 when all groups were compared to CG (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Each concentration of NaOCl affected the release of TGF-β1 from blood clots and altered the clotting mechanism of blood by affecting clotting kinetics and cell structure.

Scalable Video Codec을 위한 효율적인 비트율 제어기법 (Efficient Bitrate Control Scheme for Scalable Video Codec)

  • 본 논문에서는 현재 JSVM2.0에 적용된 비트율 조절방법과 비교하여 효율적인 비트율 조절방법을 제안한다. 우선, 기존 방법의 문제점을 서술하고 이 문제를 해결하기 위한 효율적 비트할당 방법을 제시한다. JSVM2.0에서 비트율 조절은 초기 양자화 파라미터(QP)와 스케일링 요소를 적용하여 재조정된 QP값에 의해 이루어진다. 즉, 초기 QP 값과 스케일링 요소에 의해 영상의 화질과 발생 비트량이 결정된다. 그런데 기존 방법은 모든 영상에 대해 적절한 초기 QP값을 알아야 한다. 또한, 인코더 파라미터에 의해 선택적으로 매크로블록에 대한 QP 변화량을 조절할 수 있지만 이 변화량의 조절은 매우 비효율적이기 때문에 임의의 비트율에서 최적의 화질을 얻기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 각 프레임의 복잡도에 따라 발생 비트량을 조절함으로써 초기 QP의 영향력을 줄이고 더 나아가 매크로블록의 특성에 따라 매크로블록 단위마다 적절한 QP를 적용하여 프레임 내의 비트율 조절에 대한 효율성을 높인다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 목표 비트율에 근사한 비트량을 발생시키도록 부호화하는 것을 가능하게 하며, 기존 방법들과 비교했을 때 같은 비트율에서 개선된 화질의 영상을 얻을 수 있다.

자동차 미세먼지 배출량 산정의 타당성 분석 (Validity Analysis of the Fine Particle Emission Calculating by Cars)

  • 본 연구에서는 도시대기 중 문제시 되는 미세먼지 배출원의 주범으로 추정되는 유류를 사용하는 도로배출원(자동차)의 배출량 산정을 위한 배출계수 및 활동도 적용의 타당성과 미세먼지 제어를 위한 법제도 시행의 타당성에 대하여 분석하고 고찰하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 하였다. 실제 교통량에 근거하여 작성한 본 연구의 자동차 배출량 공간분석 결과와 기존 방법과의 차이가 나타났는데, 대기 미세먼지 농도를 알아보기 위한 대기분산모델링을 수행할 때 현실적이지 않은 배출량을 입력할 경우, 농도분포 결과의 심각한 왜곡을 초래할 수 있기 때문에 자동차 배출 미세먼지 공간분석은 실제 교통량에 근거하여 작성해야 할 것이다. 국립환경과학원방법(2010)에 사용된 자동차 미세먼지 배출계수는 주로 2003~2007년식의 자동차를 대상으로 하였기 때문에 DPF 장착 등의 효과를 반영할 수 없었고, 서울 인근 도로 노선별 자동차 미세먼지 배출량 산정결과 국립환경과학원방법과 본 연구방법의 결과가 상이하게 나타났는데, 승용차 배출량 중 휘발유차 배출량이 디젤차량 배출량과 대등하게 산정되었기 때문에, 현실에 맞는 디젤 및 휘발유 자동차 미세먼지 배출계수 개발이 필요하다.

  • 이동통신에서는 수십 kbps 이상의 고속 디지털전송을 실현하는데 있어서 멀티패스파에 의한 지연왜곡이 수반되므로 전송로 변동, 즉 주파수선택성 페이딩을 극복하는 기술이 확립되지 않으면 안된다. 본 논문에서는 판정귀환형 등화기의 제어 알고리즘으로써 지수적 가중계수에 의한 RLS 알고리즘을 개량한 피드백러닝 RLS 알고리즘을 제안하고 랜덤 가우시안 잡음하에서 정적인 1파 모델과 2파 모델에 대한 등화기의 동작특성을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 실험을 통하여 검토 분석하였다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 실험결과 $\lambda$= 0.9, S/N = 10 [dB], S/I = 20 [dB]에서 지연파의 지연시간을 1심볼까지 변화시켰을 때 우수한 추종특성과 등화특성을 보였다.

티타늄과 금합금의 레이저 용접부의 인장강도 (TENSILE STRENGTH OF LASER WELDED-TITANIUM AND GOLD ALLOYS)

  • Lasers have given dentistry a new rapid, economic, and accurate technique for metal joining. Although laser welding has been recommended as an accurate technique, there are some limitations with this technique. For example, the two joining surfaces must have a tight-fitting contact, which may be difficult to achieve in some situations. The tensile samples used for this study were made from a custom-made pure titanium and type III gold alloy plates. 27 of 33 specimens were sectioned perpendicular to their long axis with a carborundum disk and water coolant. Six specimens remained and served as the control group. A group of 6 specimens was posed as butt joints in custom parallel positioning device with a feeler gauge at each of three gaps : 0.00, 0.25. and 0.50mm. All specimens were then machined to produce a uniform cross-sectional dimension, none of the specimens was subjected to any subsequent form of heat treatment. Scanning electron microscopy was performed on representative tested specimens at fractured surfaces in both the parent metal and the weld. Vickers hardness was measured at the center of the welds with a micropenetrometer using a force of 300gm for 15 seconds. Measurement was made at approximately $200{\mu}m\;and\;500{\mu}m$ deep from each surface. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Scheffe's test was calculated to detect differences between groups. The purpose of this study is to compare the strength and properties of the joint achieved at various butt Joint gaps by the laser welding of type III gold alloy and pure titanium tensile specimens in an argon atmosphere. The results of this study were as follows : 1. When indexing and welding pure titanium, there was no decrease in ultimate tensile strength as compared with the unsectioned alloys for indexing gaps of 0.00 to 0.50mm, although with increasing gap size may come increased distortion (p>0.05). 2. When indexing and welding type III gold alloy, there were significant differences in ultimate tensile strength among groups with weld gaps of 0.00mm, 0.25 and 0.50mm, and the control group. Group with butt contact without weld gap demonstrated a significant higher ultimate tensile strength than groups with weld gaps of 0.25 and 0.50mm (p<0.05). 3. When indexing and welding the different metal combination of type III gold alloy and pure titanium, there were significant differences in ultimate tensile strength between groups with weld gaps of 0.00, 0.25, and 0.50mm. However, the mechanical properties of the welded joint would become too brittle to be acceptable clinically (p<0.05). 4. The presence of large pores in the laser welded joint appears to be the most important factor in controlling the tensile strength of the weld in both pure titanium and type III gold alloy.

전기철도계통에 순간전압강하 보상장치 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of the DVR in AC Electric Traction System)

  • 전기 철도계통은 기존 전력계통과 달리 단상, 대용량 부하로 필연적으로 전압강하, 전압불평형 및 고조파 왜곡 등의 전력품질의 문제가 발생한다. 이러한 문제점 중 상시전압강하는 전력품질의 가중 중요한 요소로서 SVC(Static Var Compensator) 또는 STACOM(Static Compensator)를 설치하여 전압강하를 보상하는 연구가 수행되었다. 또한 순시전압강하는 고속으로 운전중인 철도차량의 제어 및 안전에 상당한 영향을 미칠것으로 예상된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 AT(Auto Transformer)급전계통에 적용되는 순간전압강하 보상장치에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 순간전압강하에 의한 철도차량의 과도해석을 위해 전원, 철도급전변압기, AT, 철도선로 및 철도 차량부하를 모델링 하였다. 또한 순간전압강하 발생시 철도차량부하의 과도특성을 분석하였고 이를 보상하기위한 순간전압강하 보상장치 (DVR:Dynamic Voltage Restorer)를 제안하였다. 순간전압강하 보상 시뮬레이션 결과, 순간전압강하 보상장치의 철도급전계통의 적용은 상당히 유용함을 알수있었다.
