  • A shop floor control system(SFCS) performs the production activities required to fill orders. In order to effectively control these activities, the autonomous agent-based heterarchical shop floor control architecture is adopted where a supervisor does not exist. In this paper, we define functional perspective of the heterarchical shop floor control using planning, scheduling, and execution modules. In particular, we focus on an execution module that can coordinate the planning and scheduling modules and a general execution module that easily can be modified to execute the other equipment. The execution module can be defined informally as a module that downloads and performs a set of scheduled tasks. The execution module is also responsible for identifying and resolving various errors whether they come from hardware or software. The purpose of this research is to identify all the execution activities and solving techniques under the assumptions of the heterarchical control architecture. And we model the execution module in object-oriented modelling technique for generalization. The execution module modeled in object-oriented concept can be adopted to the other execution module easily. This paper also proposes a classification scheme for execution activities of the heterarchical control architecture. Petri-nets are used as a unified framework for modeling and controlling execution activities. For solving the nonexistence of a supervisor, a negotiation-based solution technique is utilized.

  • To evaluate the role of xanthine oxidase in liver damage by CCl4, a group of rats were fed tungstate for a month, which suppressed the activities of xanthine oxidase in serum and liver. Control group of rats were fed standard diet without tungstate. Liver damage was induced both in tungstate fed and control groups by two intraperitoneal injections of CCl4 at the level of 0.1ml/100g body weight at intervals of 24 hours. Increases in the levels of serum alanine aminotransferase by CCl4 were significantly smaller in tungstate fed rats than in control rats. Concomitantly, histopathologic changes were less in tungstate fed rats than in control ones. In rats either treated with CCl4 or not, hepatic type O xanthine oxidase activities were remarkably reduced by tungstate feeding. Hepatic aniline hydroxylase activities were higher in rats fed tungstate than control rats when animals were not treated with CCl4, but the enzyme activities were lower in tungstate fed rats than control when they were treated with CCl4. Neither tungstate feeding nor CCl4 treatment caused any significant changes in hepatic glutathione contents, and activities of hepatic glutathione S-transferase, glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase. It is concluded xanthine oxidase reaction augment CCl4 induced liver damage via oxygen free radical system.

  • This study attempted to compare the social interest, motivation, and attitude of nursing college students who participated in a voluntary program and the students who didn't participate in a voluntary program. The purpose of this study can be summarized as to find the effect of a voluntary program and to offer fundamental data for institutionalizing a voluntary program in college. The subjects were composed of two groups, one group attend the voluntary program and the other group doesn't. The subjects were 390 nursing students: 179 in the experimental group and 211 in the control group. The results of this study are as follows : 1. Before voluntary activities, the mean value of the control group was higher than that of the experimental group in social interest and altruistic motivation. The difference is statistically meaningful(t= -2.2.53, p=.25, t= -2.509, p= .013). 2. After voluntary activities, selfish motivation and altruistic motivation in the experimental group was higher than before. The difference is statistically meaningful(t= 2.404, p=.0l7, t=-2.751, p=.007). 3. The social interest, selfish motivation, altruistic motivation toward voluntary activities and selfish attitude, altruistic attitude toward voluntary activities will not have changed in the control group before or after voluntary program. However, the altruistic attitude lowered after voluntary activity. It is statistically meaningful(t=2.694, p=.008). 4. After the voluntary activities, there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in altruistic attitude. In the experimental group, the mean value of altruistic attitude increased significantly, but in the control group the mean value of altruistic attitude decreased ( t = 2.15, p = .032). The results of this study showed that voluntary activities not only increase social interest and altruistic attitude, but also the subject's understanding toward the community. 3. • The effects of coping on physical and psychosocial adaptation in the 297 patients with rheumatoid arthritis were investigated. The coping methods were divided into compliance of medical regimens, self-control activities, and cognitive control. The effects of these coping methods was analyzed with stepwise regression. The physical adaptation is found to be significantly affected by cognitive control, self-control activities, and compliance of medical regimens in order Compliance of the medical regimens affects negatively the physical adaptation. And psychosocial adaptation is significantly affected by the cognitive control. The analysis of these results by illness duration showed the distinct differences. That is in the patients who experienced the disease less than 48 months, the physical and the psychosocial adaptation were significantly affected only by the cognitive control. But in the patients who experienced the disease more than 96 months, the physical and the psychosocial adaptation were significantly affected by self-control activities. Based upon these results, it is recommended that the nurses who care the newly diagnosed patients emphasize on the positive side of the state. And the patients who are diagnosed long ago need the nursing programs which teach and promote self-control activities. Also it is suggested that the results of compliance must be considered rather than as the result variable.
