  • This paper proposes a reconstruction method for the shape and color information of 3-dimensional buildings. The proposed method is range scanning by laser range finder and image coordinates' color information mapping to laser coordinate by a fixed CCD camera on laser range finder. And we make a 'Far-View' using high-resolution satellite image. The 'Far-View' is created that the height of building using DEM after contours of building extraction. The user select a region of 'Far View' and then, appear detailed 3D-reconstruction of building The outcomes apply to city plan, 3D-environment game and movie background etc.

  • Encoding of segment contours is a critical part of a region-based coding system especially at low bit rates where the contour information occupies a majority of the bit rate. When approximating contours with polygons, a fixed upper bound on the distortion is set for the approximation process. Instead of using this fixed bound, adaptive approximation bound for a lossy coding of contourts is proposed in this paper. A function representing the relative importance of the contour segmentis defined to take into account the spatial content of the image. By using this function, the contour can be approximated adaptively. This allows a more general approach than the methods with the fixed distortion measure. The effectiveness of the adaptive contour coding approach is verified through experiments.

  • In this paper, human body models have been manufactured by the use of rapid prototyping techniques, which are to be used for surgery planning in clinical practice. In this manufactacturing process, CT or MRI data of human bodies are prepared and the images are processed to obtain sectional contours. With these contours, three-dimensional surface triangulated models are constructed, which finally transformed to STL file for rapid prototyping. For this purpose, total service system for manufacturing of human body models is constructed by employing commercial softwares, and the related problems and process parameters are investigated

  • To connect the gap on the contours at the summit area, we propose the linear interpolation in the polar coordinates. Tn the experiments of applying both existing algorithms and a proposed method to some graphic images, the proposed method generated curves that average MAE was 1.940 pixels. In particular, our method with MAE of 1.240 on real map image was superior than the others. Also by generating new curves with neighbors-resembled appearance, the contours were reconstructed seamlessly.

  • This paper proposes the new subfield method to erase reverse gray levels and low gray level contour in AC plasma display panel(PDP). In the conventional method, it is supposed that output luminance levels of a PDP increase regularly. But actual output luminance levels of a PDP increase irregularly. Therefore, conventional methods are unable to effectively reduce low gray-level contours and reverse gray levels. Accordingly, a new subfield method is applied to improve the low gray-level expression in PDP. Conclusively this paper clear proof that a new subfield method can suppress low gray-level contours and reverse gray levels more effectively than conventional methods.

  • X-SAR images taken on the coastal waters of Hwanghe province in Korea during SIR-C/X-SAR campaign in April and October 1994 are analysed. The SAR images show the peculiar signatures like nail marks, curved long string, and vortex streets patterns and they all seem to be produced by strong interactions between the topography in the coastal waters and tidal currents. The nail mark signatures are located at the same position of small scaled sand banks and the curved line patterns are almost identical to the outer boundary of large sand banks. Based on the tidal record, all the three images are taken at the almost same phase of tidal cycles, which are close to the low tide. It seems that bottom shapes are more strongly appeared on the SAR images when the tidal currents are slow. The front between two different current velocities caused by the flows along the steep boundaries of sandbanks is also the main factors imprinting the bottom features to the sea surface SAR images

  • In this paper, we developed visual tracking algorithm using double active bar. The active bar model to represent the object can reduce the search space of energy surface and better performance than those of snake model. However, the contour will not find global equilibrium when driving force caused by image may be weak. To overcome this problem. Double active bar is proposed for finding the global minimum point without any dependence on initialization. To achieve the goal, an deformable model with two initial contours in attempted to search for a global minimum within two specific initial contours. This approach improve the performance of finding the contour of target. To evaluate the performance, some experiments are executed. We can achieved the good result for tracking a object on noisy image.

  • We propose a diagnostic that can resolve the planet/binary degeneracy of central perturbations in caustic-crossing high-magnification microlensing events. The diagnostic is based on the difference in the morphology of perturbation inside the central caustics induced by a planet and a wide-separation binary companion. We find that the contours of excess exhibit a concentric circular pattern around the caustic center for the binary-lensing case, while the contours are elongated or off-centered for the planetary case. This difference results in the distinctive features of the individual lens populations in the residual of the trough region between the two peaks of the caustic crossings, where the shape of the residual is symmetric for binary lensing while it tends to be asymmetric for planetary lensing. We determine the ranges of the planetary parameters for which the proposed diagnostic can be used. The diagnostic is complementary to previously proposed diagnostics in the sense that it is applicable to caustic-crossing events with small finite-source effect.

  • In this presentation we will describe two core elements, which combination gives a new approach to layout verification; they are a computational algorithm for modeling of photolithographical processes and a method for physical layout verification that uses output contours of that algorithm. Utilization of this approach allows to improve the quality of LCOS/AM OLED backplanes physical verification, because it considers discrepancies between mask features and printed contours on a wafer.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the variation of pitch contour observed in the reading of Korean sentences produced by Chinese Korean-learners. In the reading context, Korean sentence intonation can be described by considering accentual phrases' pitch pattern and intonational phrases' boundary tone. But when APs and IPs connect to each other to form sentences, another aspect of speech production must be considered, that is declination of pitch contour. So, in order to examine how Chinese speakers produce Korean sentence intonation, we have analysed the sentences' pitch contours produced by fourteen Chinese speakers differing in proficiency, and compared them to pitch contours produced by six Korean native speakers. The results show that Chinese speakers tend to decline the pitch contour in shorter sentences, but for longer sentences, the declination was not observed. Moreover, even though Chinese speakers produced sentences with declination, internal tonal modulation differs from native speakers.
