  • The continuous growth in the use of the World Wide Web is creating the data with very large scale and different types. Analyzing such data can help to determine the life time value of users, evaluate the effectiveness of web sites, and design marketing strategies and services. In this paper, we propose some analysis methods for web data and present an example of a prototypical web data analysis.

  • Exchange System for mobile communication operator is very important for providing continuous services to customers. However traditional solution is too expensive for choosing in the real environment. In this paper, we suggest cost-effective auto backup monitoring solution, which is robust for system failure. And this suggested solution will also can be adopted to the $4^{th}$ generation of IP core network.

  • University dorm basically provides basic housing functions to students, however, it is very important in a sense that it provides students with various functions such as information exchange, cultural experience and learning environments as well. Additionally, continuous effort to improve users' satisfaction and living environments are needed due to the fact that physical environments of dorm facilities have higher impact on students. However, Many students are not satisfied with the physical environment of university dorms and also there is lack of systematic information whereas various functions are required by students. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to suggest the direction of FM services in order for improving students' satisfaction on the university dorm facilities in Korea. Precedent studies regarding the satisfaction or performance evaluation of dorm facilities have been extensively analyzed to extract the dissatisfaction factors that scored below the middle 50%. Secondly, for satisfaction improvement, Korean Standard for Facility Management(KS_FM) have been matched with those extracted dissatisfaction factors to suggest the direction of FM services by rules and regulations review and best practice studies. This research will be useful for university dorm facility managers in planning strategic FM and providing effective FM services to students.

  • The city of Suwon has introduced various ITS services between 2001 and 2006 as an alternative to solve chronic traffic congestion in the city. After the successful implementation, there was an effort to evaluate effects from the ITS deployments. However, the effects caused from ITS implementations may be realized in many different ways. Therefore, this research effort was aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of ITS implements through the first and second phases in Suwon using reasonable and scientific methods. Based on results from the analysis of variables presenting traffic condition, surveys and economic evaluation, the implementation of ITS services in Suwon can be concluded successful. However, there is a need for efforts to maintain the effects produced from the successful introduction of ITS services through continuous upgrading the systems, intensive maintenance, and efficient operations.

  • The research mainstream has focused on improving the competitiveness throughout the reinforcement of customer satisfaction and loyalty in the banking industry, but there is still a lack of research that reflects characteristics of banking services. From a customer point of view, this study considers a variety of bank characteristics such as levels of interest rate, numbers of transaction banks, monthly average balance, and age. In line with this observation, the main objective of the current research is to investigate the relationship between bank characteristics and ongoing transaction intentions with a particular bank using a categorial regression analysis and in turn, provide insights for managers. First, the findings show that deposit interest rate is insignificant for leading customers to ongoing transaction intentions, but loan interest rate is significant when customers are satisfied with a loan interest rate. Second, if customers only transact their banking services with a particular bank, they are more likely to deal with the bank, rather than customers who transact additional one or two banks. Third, in the case of monthly average balance, customers who have more than \100 million wons per month are likely to switch other competitors. Finally, old customers are more stable than young customers when they consider to switch the relationship with a bank. The author provides insights for bank managers and discusses research limitations and further directions of the study.

  • DNS(Domain Name System) is a huge distributed database that converts host name to IP address. We are expecting the importance of DNS is more increased because many Internet application services appear according to the continuous increase of Internet users and nearly all the Internet application services use DNS. To prevent the interruption of DNS service, DNS server is configured with primary DNS server and a secondary DNS server which takes the place of primary DNS server in case of the service interruption. But this scheme is difficult for providing DNS service constantly in case of DDoS attack, which brings about much network load or network problems in DNS server group. Therefore, This paper proposed the scheme to locally distribute load of DNS server, and the use of address system to group the distributed DNS servers. Also, it proposed the authentication scheme of the correspondent server in case the server is changed in DNS server group having grouping address. In this paper, it is shown that the prosed scheme guarantees the improved service reliability with maintaining the present service performance through the evaluation. Through this, we can expect the high improved DNS service can be provided in the Internet environment in the future.

  • Recently, due to the prevalence of various mobile devices and wireless broadband networks, there has been a significant increase in interest and demand for multimedia streaming services such as the mobile IPTV. In such a wireless broadband network, transmitting a continuous stream of multimedia data is difficult to achieve due to mobile stations (MSs) movement. Providing Quality of Service (QoS) for multimedia video streaming applications requires the server and/or client to be network-aware and adaptive. Therefore, in order to deploy a mobile IPTV service in wireless broadband networks, offering users efficient wireless resource utilization and seamlessly offering user perceived QoS are important issues. In this paper, we propose a new adaptive streaming scheme, called MARC (Mobile-aware Adaptive Rate Control), which adjusts the quality of bit-stream and transmission rate of video streaming based on the wireless channel status and network status. The proposed scheme can control the rate of multimedia streaming to be suitable for the wireless channel status by using awareness information of the wireless channel quality and the mobile station location. The proposed scheme can provide a seamless multimedia playback service in wireless broadband networks in addition to improving the QoS of multimedia streaming services. The proposed MARC scheme alleviates the discontinuity of multimedia playback and allocates a suitable client buffer to the wireless broadband network. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed scheme.

  • Libraries manage e-Books as a new kinds of library materials and provide library users with information services in Korea. Initially, this study was intended to be an investigation into several misconceptions surrounding e-Books and their pricing structure. This study is also concerned with the fallacies of unifying e-Book techniques from four perspectives: (1)the misunderstandings related to unifying viewer and DRM, (2)the misconceptions about unifying service techniques in the industrial structure, (3)the analyses of essence of e-Book techniques, (4)the settlement of users´ inconveniences through continuous technique refinement. Based on the results, this study suggests various problems associated with the collaborative purchase of e-Books and presents several ideal strategies for their acquisition and services.

  • Purpose: This dissertation is a descriptive research study analyzing the accuracy and reliability of the cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) application developed in Korea. Methods: Two faculty members from the emergency medical services department and the emergency medicine department searched applications from July 1 to July 10, 2019 and selected a total of 13 applications. Twelve questions were assessed for information accuracy and three were assessed for reliability. In accordance with application types, the number and mean ± standard deviation were analyzed. The t-test was used to compare the accuracy of CPR information in accordance with information sources. Results: The results revealed the following errors: 7 cases (53.8%) identified the chest center lining from the nipple center-line as the chest pressure point; 5 cases (38.5%) did not provide information on the depth of 6 cm that should not be exceeded; and 4 cases (30.8%) did not provide advise to check respiration. When the CPR information sources were included, the information accuracy score was high; a significant difference was observed (p=.035). Conclusion: In the case of applications providing medical information regarding CPR, it is necessary to provide at least authoritarian, sources of information, and author transparency as well as continuous effort and attention.
