A Representation Model for Reusable Assets To Support User Context

  • In the field of software reuse, several methods for storage and retrieval of assets abound. However, these methods often find their limits; they fail to turn up the suitable reusable assets that satisfy the needs of a particular software system under development. Two problems are the root cause of this situation. One is the lack of accurate semantics for describing software assets. The other is the ignorance of the user query context. In such a context, this paper presents an XML-based asset representation model for describing all kinds of software asset that can be reused within software development process. The proposed model provides semantic metadata for describing assets oriented user context in order to build the foundation for semantic reasoning in the retrieval process.

  • 맥락 정보와 맥락 인식 시스템에 대한 연구는 지난 10 여 년 동안 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 분야에서 중요한 이슈로 다루어졌다. 대부분의 맥락 인식 시스템은 위치 정보와 같이 단일 형태의 맥락 정보를 위해서 설계되었거나 연구실 수준의 크기로 제한되었다. 그러나 많은 종류의 센서와 actuator 를 포함하고 다수의 관리 도메인으로 확장 가능한 스케일이 큰 시스템에 대한 개발 및 평가는 여전히 미흡한 수준이다. 특히, 맥락 퓨전과 추론 구조를 가지는 Large-scale 의 맥락 인식 시스템에 대한 평가 방법이 필요한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 휴리스틱 평가를 이용한 Large-scale 맥락 인식 시스템의 평가 방법에 대하여 제안한다. 그리고 우리는 동적인 맥락 인식 시스템을 지원하고 맥락 퓨전 및 추론을 위한 메커니즘을 포함하는 기본 구조에 대해서 자세히 설명한다. 맥락 인식 시스템 평가를 위해서 제안된 접근법은 사용자 인터페이스 도메인에서 잘 알려진 전문가에 의한 평가 방법으로 Large-scale 맥락 인식 시스템에 적합하도록 특별히 선택된 heuristics 집합을 이용하는 휴리스틱 평가(Heuristic Evaluation)이다.

  • User interface has been regarded as a crucial issue to increase the acceptance of mobile services. In special, even though to what extent the machine as speaker communicates with human as listener in a timely and polite manner is important, fundamental studies to come up with these issues have been very rare. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to propose a methodology of estimating politeness level in a certain context-aware setting and then to design a context-aware system for polite mobile interface. We will focus on Korean language for the polite level estimation simply because the polite interface would highly depend on cultural and linguistic characteristics. Nested Minkowski aggregation model, which amends Minkowski aggregation model, is adopted as a privacy-preserving similarity evaluation for case retrieval under distributed computing environment such as ubiquitous computing environment. To show the feasibility of the methodology proposed in this paper, simulation-based experiment with drama cases has performed to show the performance of the methodology proposed in this paper.

  • As software is widely used on various environments today, there is an increasing need for adaptive software. Adaptive software is robust and flexible software that modifies its own behavior in response to the changes in its environment. Due to time constraints, high complexity and so on, it is hard to acquire context information from environment. So, when implementing software, it is common to think easily acquired data to be the environments. This research proposes an adaptive software framework that assumes plane images to be environments. Plane images are easy to acquire and have enough complexity. From this, our framework is able to acquire context information, reasons with action rule, and acts on the result of reasoning. Stand on this framework, implements software that plays a simple game automatically.

  • Context-awareness as a key technology of ubiquitous computing needs a context model that understands and processes situational information coming from diverse sensors and devices, and can be applied diversely in various domains. Semantic web based ontologies use structured standard format and express meaning of information, so it is possible to recognize effectively context-awareness situations, allowing the system to share information and understand situation by inference. In this paper, we propose a layered ontology model to support generality and scaleability of the context-awareness system, and applied the model to u-Convention domain. In addition, we propose a effective reasoning method to handle compound situation by combining OWL-DL and SWRL rules.

  • Ubiquitous services are high duality and differentiated services which are provided for users by recognizing the context of users and environmental conditions actively. In this case, context-aware middleware is one of the most important technologies required to implement the ubiquitous services. In this paper, we proposed a method for providing ubiquitous services in a specific user space effectively. That is, the design and implementation of intelligent home service middleware based on context awareness is discussed here. Context information from various sensors is gathered, and suitable services are inferred and provided to users by the middleware system.

  • To support context-aware services in ubiquitous computing environments, there are required dynamic context managing, context reasoning and context modeling technologies. In previous researches, context services are designed using context ontology used in context aware middleware. So, context service cannot change the context ontology in execution time. In this paper, we propose a hierarchical ontology-based context management model and design a context-aware middleware based on this model for supporting active application adaptability and reflecting users' requirements dynamically in contextual changes. It also provides efficient support for inferencing, interpreting, acquiring and discovering various contexts to build context-aware services and presents a resolution method for context conflict which is occurred in execution of service. As the middleware is implemented on the OSGi framework, it can cause interoperability among devices such as computers, PDAs, home appliances and sensors. It can also support the development and operation of context aware services, which are required in the ubiquitous computing environment.

  • Estimating levels of user trust is important for maintaining continuous use of e-commerce systems because trust alleviates user concerns about the invisibility of service providers or their reputation. Conventional trust estimation approaches such as policy-and reputationbased reasoning have focused on the experience of e-commerce systems at an early stage. However, only a few trust reasoning methods have considered the mature stage, which is more related to continuance intention. We propose a trust reasoning method dedicated to the mature stage of using e-commerce systems. In particular, a new method of unobtrusively estimating the degree of user intimacy is developed, because intimacy has been highly associated with trust as well as reputation. Our experiments show that the proposed method is valid and can be used in conjunction with reputation-based trust reasoning.

The Effects of Making Science Newspaper Activity on the Science Inquiry Process Ability of Elementary School Students and Analysing the Writing Context (과학신문만들기 활동이 초등학생의 과학탐구능력에 미치는 영향과 글쓰기 맥락 분석)

  • The purpose of this study were to know the effects of making science newspaper activity on the science inquiry process ability of elementary school students and to analyse the writing context about their articles. The 33 sixth grader were participated in this program and they made 3 or 4 make a group, 9 groups made their own science newspaper. The results are as follow: first, there were statistically significantly differences(p<.01) on the basic science inquiry process abilities especially measurement and reasoning on making science newspaper activity. But there were no significantly differences on the integrative science inquiry process abilities; second, according to their articles on science newspaper, in personal context, they used many terms such as ecosystem, producer, consumer, decomposer, balance, but it was not personalized. And in social context, They pointed the cause and solution for the pollution and destruction in ecosystem, but it was superficial. Lastly in physical context, They used well their science concepts from class and format in newspaper in making science newspaper.
