전기방사법(Electrospinning technique)을 이용하여 PVdF-HFP(Poly vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) 멤브레인을 제조하고, 그 멤브레인 표면위에 DLC(Diamond-like carbon) 코팅공정을 적용하여 멤브레인의 표면변화 및 접촉각 변화를 조사하였다.
We give a textured front on silicon wafer for high-efficiency solar cells by using micro contact printing method which uses PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) silicon rubber as a stamp and SAM (self assembled monolayer)s as an ink. A random pyramidal texturing have been widely used for a front-surface texturing in low cost manufacturing line although the cell with random pyramids on front surface shows relatively low efficiency than the cell with inverted pyramids patterned by normal optical lithography. In the past two decades, the micro contact printing has been intensively studied in nano technology field for high resolution patterns on silicon wafer. However, this promising printing technique has surprisingly never applied so far to silicon based solar cell industry despite their simplicity of process and attractive aspects in terms of cost competitiveness. We employ a MHA (16-mercaptohexadecanoic acid) as an ink for Au deposited $SiO_2/Si$ substrate. The $SiO_2$ pattern which is same as the pattern printed by SAM ink on Au surface and later acts as a hard resist for anisotropic silicon etching was made by HF solution, and then inverted pyramidal pattern is formed after anisotropic wet etching. We compare three textured surface with different morphology (random texture, random pyramids and inverted pyramids) and then different geometry of inverted pyramid arrays in terms of reflectivity.
An excellent hydrophobic surface has a high contact angle over 147 degree and the contact angle hysteresis below $5^0$ was produced by using roughness combined with hydrophobic PTFE coatings, which were also confirmed to exhibit an extreme adhesion to glass substrate. To form the rough surface, the glass was etched by Ar-plasma. A very thin PTFE film was coated on the plasma etched glass surface. Roughness factors before or after PTFE coating on the plasma etched glass surface, based on Wensel's model were calculated, which agrees well with the dependence of the contact angle on the roughness factor is predicted by Wensel's model. The PTFE films deposited on glass by using a conventional rf-magnetron sputtering. The glass substrates were etched Ar-plasma prior to the deposition of PTFE. Their hydrophobicities are investigated for application as a anti-fouling coating layer on the screen of displays. It is found that the hydrophobicity of PTFE films mainly depends on the sputtering conditions, such as rf-power, Ar gas content introduced during deposition. These conditions are closely related to the deposition rate or thickness of PTFE film. Thus, it is also found that the deposition rate or the film thickness affects sensitively the geometrical morphology formed on surface of the rf-sputtered PTFE films. In particular, 1,950-nm-thick PTFE films deposited for 30 minute by rf-power 50 watt under Ar gas content of 20 sccm shows a very excellent optical transmittance and a good anti-fouling property and a good durability.
Screen printing of commercially available Ag paste is the most widely used method for the front side metallization of Si solar cells. However, the metallization using Ag paste is expensive and needs high temperature annealing for reliable contact. Among many metallization schemes, Ni/Cu/Sn plating is one of the most promising methods due to low contact resistance and mass production, resulting in high efficiency and low production cost. Ni layer serves as a barrier which would prevent copper atoms from diffusion into the silicon substrate. However, Ni based schemes by electroless deposition usually have low thermal stability, and require high annealing process due to phosphorus content in the Ni based films. These problems can be resolved by adding W element in Ni-based film. In this study, Ni-W-P alloys were formed by electroless plating and properties of it such as sheet resistance, resistivity, specific contact resistivity, crystallinity, and morphology were investigated before and after annealing process by means of transmission line method (TLM), 4-point probe, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).

Graphene have showed promising performance as electrodes of organic devices such as organic transistors, light-emitting diodes, and photovoltaic solar cells. In particular, among various organic materials of graphene-based organic devices, pentacene has been regarded as one of the promising organic material because of its high mobility, chemical stability. In the bottom-contact device configuration generally used as graphene based pentacene devices, the morphology of the organic semiconductors at the interface between a channel and electrode is crucial to efficient charge transport from the electrode to the channel. For the high quality morphology, understanding of initial stages of pentacene growth is essential. In this study, we investigate self-assembly of pentacene molecules on graphene formed on a 6H-SiC (0001) substrate by scanning tunneling microscopy. At sub-monolayer coverage, adsorption of pentacene molecules on epitaxial graphene is affected by $6{\times}6$ pattern originates from the underlying buffer layer. And the orientation of pentacene in the ordered structure is aligned with the zigzag direction of the edge structure of single layer graphene. As coverage increased, intermolecular interactions become stronger than molecule-substrate interaction. As a result, herringbone structures the consequence of higher intermolecular interaction are observed.
The pure Mg powder compacts were successfully fabricated using SPS process. The machined chip powder showed flake shaped morphology with coarse surfaces, while gas atomized powders were spherical in morphology with smooth surfaces. In this study, SPS process was used to consolidate the pure Mg powder because this process allows high density consolidation in a short time. The results showed that increased sintering temperature from $350^{\circ}C$ to $500^{\circ}C$ with pressure of 30MPa, the maximum values of the density was increased from 98.1% to 99.8% of theoretical density, respectively. However, density of the sintered chip powders was higher than that of gas-atomized powder due to larger contact areas between particles.
In the present work, we present a new effective hydrophilicity modifier for polysulfone (PSf) membrane. Firstly, amphiphilic nanocellulose (ANC) with different substitution degrees (SD) was synthesized by esterification reaction with nanocellulose (NC) and dodecyl succinic anhydride (DDSA). The SD and morphology of ANC were characterized by titration method and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Then, the polysulfone (PSf)/ANC blend membranes were prepared via an immersion phase inversion method. The influence of SD on the morphology, structure and performances of PSf/ANC blend membrane were carefully investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscope (SEM), mechanical property test, contact angle measuring instrument and filtration experiment. The results showed that the mechanical property, hydrophilicity and anti-fouling property of all the PSf/ANC blend membranes were higher than those of pure PSf membrane and PSf/NC membrane, and the membrane properties were increased with the increasing of SD values. As ANC-4 has the highest SD value, PSf/ANC-4 membrane exhibited the optimal membrane properties. In conclusion, the prepared ANC can be used as an additive to improve the hydrophilicity and anti-fouling properties of polysulfone (PSf) membrane.
The aim of this study was to fabricate a dextran polyelectrolyte multi-layer on a bare metal stent (BMS) and to evaluate bio-physical properties of the layer. Diethylaminoethyl-dextran (DEAE-D) as a polycation and dextran sulfate (DS) as a polyanion were successively coated on the bare metal stent by a well-known layer-by-layer procedure. The morphology of the stent surface and its cell adhesion were studied after each coating step by scanning electron microscopy. The stent showed more blotched and slightly rougher morphology after dextran-DS coating. The contact angle of the DEAE-DS group ($39.5{\pm}0.15^{\circ}$) was significantly higher than that of the BMS group ($45.16{\pm}0.08^{\circ}$), indicating the improvement of hydrophilic. The SMC proliferation inhibition in the DEAE-DS-coated stent group ($20.9{\pm}0.04%$) was stronger than that in the control group ($21.7{\pm}0.10%$ in DS-coated group only). The DEAE-DS coating is desired for stent coating materials with biocompatibility and anti-restenosis effect.
Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) flat sheet hydrophobic membranes were prepared using 16 wt% PVDF in Dimethyl acetamide (DMAc) by phase inversion technique for desalination application using Membrane Distillation (MD). In this work, the effect of coagulation mediums such as ethanol and water as well their synergistic behavior on the fabricated PVDF membrane morphology was studied using SEM. Moreover, other characteristics required for the membrane distillation applications namely porosity, hydrophobicity and tensile strength were measured using the gravimetric method, sessile drop method and universal testing machine respectively. It was observed that the membrane morphology paradigm shifted from the finger-like structure to the sponge-like structure on increasing the ethanol concentration in coagulant. The porosity of the fabricated membrane was under the required MD range and found to be 57.3% at 16 weight % of PVDF in DMAc solvent under a pure ethanol coagulant bath. Moreover, the top surface contact angle ranges from 85° to 115° on increasing the bath concentration from CBC 0 to CBC 100 at 16 weight % of PVDF in DMAc solvent.
