  • It is very difficult to analyze the dynamic characteristic because railway vehicle is a very complex system which are connected various mass element with railway vehicle system. To realize and analyze actual phenomenon has restriction that usual commercial software calculates creep force under creep theory about wheel-rail contact mechanism as basic analyzing, and approach about contact point are based on two dimensional non-linear contact theory and simplified Hertzian contact which considers just displacement change on the YZ plain. Therefore, to solve these problems there should be a new approach difference with existing one. In this research, a new algorithm for finding wheel-rail contact position, calculation method of contact force and applied force will be presented.

  • In ship structures, many parts are in contact with inner or outer fluid as stern, ballast and oil tanks. Fatigue damages can be sometimes observed in these tanks which seem to be caused by resonance. Tank structures in ships are in contact with water and the vibration characteristics are strongly affected by the added mass of containing water. Therefore it is important to predict vibration characteristics of tank structures. In order to estimate the vibration characteristics, the fluid-structure interaction problem has to be solved precisely. In the present paper, we have developed a numerical tool of vibration analysis of 3-dimensional tank structures using finite elements for plates and boundary elements for water region. To verify the present analysis, we have made an experiment for vibration characteristics of a tank with elastic opposite panels. And the added mass effect of containing water and the effect of structural constraint between panels are investigated numerically and discussed.

  • This paper introduces a process of the development of a vibration test dummy for the posture of inclined seating. Experimental devices was invented to measure apparent mass curves on the contact point of the hip and the back of a seated human body. During the excitation of a rigid seat secured to a hydraulic exciter, force and acceleration signals were measured on the contact points to determine the apparent mass. In order to describe nonlinear characteristics of a human body, seven levels of Gaussian random signal were used for the base excitation. The modeling of the human body will be performed using measured apparent mass curves. The modeling will be done by June and the prototype of the test dummy will be invented in the following six months.

  • We have analyzed times of minima for of 6 binary systems. Three binary systems show period decrease at rate $3.19{\times}10-5$ yr -1 for SV Cen, $1.35{\times}10-7$ yr -1 for RT Scl and $1.14{\times}10-7$ yr -1 for AD Phe. Two systems show period increase $5.696{\times}10-8$ yr -1 for SX Aur and $6.93{\times}10-8$ yr -1 for GO Cyg. One system shows cyclic period variation. We estimated the mass transfer rate for 5 binary systems. Four systems show asymmetric light curves. Two asymmetric light curves (SV Cen and RT Scl) are due to hot spot caused by mass transfer. And two asymmetric light curves (AD Phe and TY Boo) are due to cool spot caused by magnetic activities on the cooler component. We also obtain absolute dimensions from photometric solution and spectroscopic solution by analyzing their light curves and radial velocity curves, which are collected from literatures, using 2007 version Wilson and Deviney computer code.

  • In terms of women engaged in clerical job. working time of the workers who mainly keep standing with their high-heeled shoes on has been increasing. According]y. they are exposed to many kinds of foot deformation caused by loads of lower back and lower extremities due to high-heeled shoes. The type of heels they usually wear are diverse though the hight is same. In this study. we investigated most women's favorite styles of shoes concerned with heights. types and contact areas of the heels. Hence. we designed three kinds of shoes for an experiment: their contact areas with ground are 1 cm2. 2-4 cm2 and over 9 cm2 according to the heel heights. respectively. To investigate the biomechanical effects. analysis of motion and EMG were applied to the experiments. In addition. foot pressure distribution was measured for more detailed analysis. Six healthy young women were participated in this experiments. The result showed the heel becoming higher and narrower increased not only fluctuation of CBM(Center of Body Mass). but also the load of low back muscle and lower extremities. Accordingly. there was significant difference among types of the heel in terms of the role supporting load of the body. though the height is same. Especially. the difference among the pressures on a foot was most significant. In conclusion. we verified biomechanical effects are related with the contact area of a heel with ground as well as the hight.
