This study examines and analyzes daily and monthly energy consumption of an office building located in Seoul, Korea regarding type of load and business classification within a building. The results are as follows. 1) Energy consumption of office building for each type of load show similar consumption patterns, regardless of seasons such as cooling period and heating period. 2) Out of all annual energy consumption, consumption for lighting took about $43\;\%,$ general electric Power about $23\;\%,$ emergency power $25\;\%,$ computer center $5\;\%$ and cooling power $4\;\%,$ showing that the consumption for lighting was highest, and the percentage of energy consumption for cooling power for operation of cooling facilities took the lowest percentage. 3) Annual gas consumption used for heating and hot water supply were $38,\;36\;\%$ for officetel and office respectively, and $26\;\%$ for arcade. 4) Electricity consumptions used for cooling power for each use of building, office and officetel recorded in July and August of cooling seasons. • This study examined green consumption behavior according to the lifestyles of college students. The data were collected from 314 college students in Yeungnam region by a self-administered questionnaire. Frequencies, Cronbach's alpha, factor analysis, cluster analysis, chi-square tests, one-way analysis of variance, Duncan's multiple range tests, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analyses were conducted by SPSS Windows V.18.0. According to the result of factor analysis, lifestyles were categorized into six factors: thrift-saving type, enthusiastic activity type, brand ostentation type, freedom-seeking type, material oriented type, and practice-seeking type. Cluster analysis showed respondents belonged to one of four groups: thrift practice group, indifference group, freedom-seeking group, and material ostentation group. The levels of green purchase behavior, green usage behavior and green disposal behavior of the respondents was not high. The thrift practice group showed higher levels of green purchase behavior, green usage behavior, and green disposal behavior. Finally, according to multiple regression analyses, environmental consciousness, knowledge about green consumption, lifestyle groups were the significant factors affecting green consumption behaviors. The research further analyzes the effects of consumer lifestyles on perceived value, satisfaction, and purchase intention in each case of skin care cosmetics and make-up cosmetics. Significant difference are found in perceived value, satisfaction, and purchase intention of skin care cosmetics exists between brand-oriented type and rational consumption type. This is also the case between rational consumption type and impulse buying type. Purchase intention is only found to be different between rational consumption type and price sensitive type. In case of make-up cosmetics, significant differences in perceived value, satisfaction, and purchase intention in the pairs of brand-oriented type and rational consumption type, rational consumption type and impulse buying type, and rational consumption type and price sensitive type. This implies rational consumption type should be more appropriate target consumers in the Chinese cosmetics market.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing the consumption of calcium-rich foods among adolescents. A total of 96 adolescents divided into twelve focus groups were investigated during April to May 2000 in Busan. Focus group discussions were audio-taped, transcribed and analyzed using a grounded theory approach. Key factors influencing the consumption of calcium-rich foods were taste, food type, body image, and family. Motivators among the factors were taste, flood type, body image, health, family and perception, and barriers were taste, flood type, location, friends, price, weather and lactose intolerance. Taste, flood type, location and weather were found to be both motivators and barriers of consumption of calcium-rich floods according to circumstances. Some of these factors varied in importance by gender and age. Younger adolescents were more strongly influenced by taste and family than older ones. Older adolescents were strongly influenced by body image, convenience and perception. These findings could be used as a guideline for adolescents to consume calcium-rich foods.

  • In this paper, we compared and analyzed the power load patterns of dormitory buildings and office buildings to use them as basic data (demand analysis and capacity design) for the design and operation of microgrids for multi-use facilities, and the following conclusions were got. During the daytime on regular weekdays, the power consumption load pattern of office buildings was relatively large at 264.0~332.3 kWh, and during the evening hours, the power consumption load pattern of dormitory buildings was relatively large at 233.0~258.3 kWh. In the case of vacation, during the daytime on weekdays, the power consumption load pattern of office buildings was relatively large at 279.1~407.4 kWh, and in the evening, the power consumption load pattern of dormitory buildings was relatively high at 280.1~394.1 kWh. During the daytime on regular weekends, the power consumption of dormitory-type buildings was relatively high at 133.5~201.6 kWh, and it was found that the power consumption of dormitory-type buildings appeared relatively high at 187.5~252.1 kWh. During a vacation in the daytime on weekends, the power consumption of dormitory-type buildings was found to be 186.5 kWh~ and 218.6 kWh. The increase in power consumption during a vacation (December-February) compared to normal (April-June) was thought to be due to an increase in electricity demand, and the reason for the higher power consumption in dormitory buildings during the vacation was due to reduced working hours in office buildings.
