In this paper, we proposed a non-contact respiration measurement system with ultrasonic proximity sensor. Ultrasonic proximity sensor approach of respiration measurement which respiration signatures and rates can be derived in real-time for long-term monitoring is presented. 240 kHz ultrasonic sensor has been applied for the proposed measurement system. The time of flight of sound wave between the transmitted signal and received signal have been used for a respiration measurement from abdominal area. Respiration rates measured with the ultrasonic proximity sensor were compared with those measured with standard techniques on 5 human subjects. Accurate measurement of respiration rate is shown from the 50 cm measurement distance. The data from the method comparison study is used to confirm the performance of the proposed measurement system. The current version of respiratory rate detection system using ultrasonic can successfully measure respiration rate. The proposed measurement method could be used for monitoring unconscious persons from a relatively close range, avoiding the need to apply electrodes or other sensors in the correct position and to wire the subject to the monitor. Monitoring respiration using ultrasonic sensor offers a promising possibility of non-contact measurement of respiration rates. Especially, this technology offers a potentially inexpensive implementation that could extend applications to consumer home-healthcare and mobile-healthcare products. Further advances in the sensor design, system design and signal processing can increase the range of the measurement and quality of the rate-finding for broadening the potential application areas of this technology.

Purpose: This study is to identify the implications and improvement solutions to plan the local community spaces bringing empty homes back into use that fit for regional characteristics, by analyzing the Empty Home Utilization Project implemented in Nam-gu, Incheon. Methods: Among 20 homes sponsored by the Project, five homes being currently operated were analyzed in depth, and features of exterior and interior spaces, and operational characteristics of the subject homes having been renovated through the project sponsorship were examined. Results: A plan is being established to systematically manage deserted or empty homes by assigning classification to each home in Nam-gu, Incheon and they are being utilized as a community space, a place of business or a cultural art space. Most of the physical improvements only included minor repairs such as redoing interior finish, as no major renovation was implemented including layout change and wall removing. Absence of major changes including improvement of house structure resulted in problems regarding accessibility and safety. Also, there was a limit to utilize the spaces only with support on physical improvement cost for empty homes, and it was identified that positive support for renovation should be conducted in accordance with its uses for the purpose. Implications: To complete the Empty Home Utilization Project successfully, it is most critical to reflect the resident opinions and demands, and discover local operators. Furthermore, for sustainable operation of local community space, additional plans for support would be required including financial support and training local leaders, consulting support for operation, encouraging community participation, and connecting with neighbor community.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the space planning of the Senior Center which was supplied recently in apartment complex, to activate the spaces suitable for the changes and needs of the elderly and to explore the complex functions as a community space where intergenerational exchanges are possible. In other words, we sought implications for the physical plan of the district as a community base space and searched for improvement plan. Methods: The survey was conducted by five large private sectors of construction, and 10 of them were built after 2010 in an urban area(Seoul). Literature review, data analysis, field survey and interview were used for the research method. Results: As a result, it was difficult to meet the demands of various elderly people in the space planning, program and operation mode at the current level. In particular, the Baby Boomer generation as an active silver generation will not use the Senior Center. Therefore, based on the results of the survey, we propose some of the following about the Senior Center in apartment complex. First, it is necessary to change the term "the Senior Center" as defined in Article 55-2 of the "Regulations on Housing Construction Standards, etc.". Second, the criteria for setting up the elderly complex space should be presented specifically. Third, it is necessary to secure financial resources in operation and management. Finally, it is necessary to support the residents' organization for community revitalization. Implication: Through the amendment of the laws, it will be possible for various generations to have opportunities to interact by activating the existing community spaces for seniors. It will also contribute to improving the community of apartment complexes.
This study measured and analyzed clothing pressure at each measurement part of commercial body shapers to provide basic information for product design and clothing pressure standard and level. This study used five body shaper. Clothing pressure measurements were taken at 18points: Anterior area 8points, lateral area 5points, posterior area 5points. The findings of this study were as follows. As a result of measuring the clothing pressure, the body shaper 1 showed the highest pressure, and body shaper 5 showed the lowest pressure at almost of the measurement points of the three body types. In some cases, body shapers 2, 3, and 4 showed different orders of pressure depending on the measurement point. The highest measured values in most body shapers were the P1 shoulder area and the P2 bust area. The lowest measurement area differed by body type, but mainly P3 underbust area, P4 thorax area and P9 axillary area, P11 waist lateral area, P13 hip lateral area. These body shapers showed different results depending on the the manufacturers and body type of middle-aged women, and because there was no standard for the pressure value. Therefore, it is necessary to design a body shaper sizing system after accurately setting the clothing pressure value for each body part of the consumer.
The bundled discounting which the dominant undertakings engage in is problematic in terms of competition restraint. Bundled discounts generally benefit not only buyers but also sellers. Specifically, bundled discounts usually costs a firm less to sell multiple products. In addition, Bundled discounts always provide some immediate consumer benefit in the form of lower prices. Therefore, competition authorities and courts should not be too quick to condemn bundled discounts and apply the neutral and objective standard in bundled discounting cases. Cascade Health v. Peacehealth decision starts ruling from this prerequisite. This decision pointed out that the dominant undertaking can exclude rivals through bundled discounting without pricing its products below its cost when rivals do not sell as great a number of product lines. So bundled discounting may have the anticompetitive impact by excluding less diversified but more efficient producers. This decision did not adopt Lepage case's standard which does not require the court to consider whether the competitor was at least as efficient of a producer as the bundled discounter. Instead of that, based on cost based approach, this decision said that the exclusionary element can not be satisfied unless the discounts result in prices that are below an appropriate measures of the defendant's costs. By adopting a discount attribution standard, this decision said that the full amount of the discounts should be allocated to the competitive products. As the seller can easily ascertain its own prices and costs of production and calculate whether its discounting practices exclude competitors, not the competitor's costs but the dominant undertaking's costs should be considered in applying discount attribution standard. This case deals with bundled discounting practice of multiple healthcare services by the dominant undertaking in healthcare market. Under the Korean healthcare system and public health insurance system, the price competition primarily exists in non-medical care benefits because public healthcare insurance in Korea is in combination with the compulsory medical care institution system. The cases that Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Law deals with, such as cartel and the abuse of monopoly power, also mainly exist in non-medical care benefits. The dominant undertaking's exclusionary bundled discounting in Korean healthcare markets may be practiced in the contracts between the dominant undertaking and private insurance companies with regards to non-medical care benefits.
Several common issues are encountered by countries - Germany, Japan, and the United States - that adopted long-term care (LTC) system. First, the demand for LTC and its associated costs have steeply risen following the implementation of the LTC policy. Second, ensuring the quality of services have been difficult. Third, the coordination of services among providers and between LTC and medical care has been inadequate. Learning from their experience, we suggest ways to improve the LTC system in Korea. The basic approach aims for efficiency over equity in the system. This would require promoting provider competition and consumer choice. We propose several policy options according to the major stakeholders. For consumers, cash benefits at fixed rates and personal savings accounts are feasible options to self-contain the demand and cost of services. On the insurer's side, creating an environment of multiple insurers will engender competition, leading to cost savings and quality care. For providers, delivery of quality services through competition, cost-containment through capitated reimbursements, and coordination of services through integrated delivery system can be achieved. From the assessors' perspective, establishing an information system to monitor the activities of insurers and providers would be important, empowering consumers with information to choose cost-effective service providers. In summary, the suggested approach would provide cost-effective LTC services by guaranteeing consumer choice and promoting major stakeholder accountability. Further studies are needed to test the feasibility of this model in ensuring quality LTC in Korea.

Accordingly Corporates are trying to adapt themselves to those rapidly changing environments being affected by the Internet. Among others, particularly to be noted is the CALS/EC between corporations and consumers whose potential growth can be considered very substantial. This report, focusing on the introduction of CALS/EC for the logistics of SMEs, will allow us to prepare more efficiently for the coming 21st Century. It is obvious that CALS/EC is fast becoming the useful way of exchanging not only information but products in business between firm-to-firm and firm-to-customer.
