  • The objectives of this study were: (1) to identify differences in consumer attitudes and intentions to recycle fashion products using three types of recycling (including resale, reform, and donation), and (2) to examine the moderating effects of consumer prosocialness on the relationships between attitude and intention for each type of fashion product recycling. Men and women aged 20 years and over were recruited from a marketing research firm panel. Participants completed an online questionnaire incorporating measures for attitudes and intentions to resale, reform, and donate fashion products, prosocialness, frequency of purchasing fashion products, monthly amount of spending on fashion products, and demographic information. Data from 224 participants were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and PROCESS macro. The results demonstrated that consumers had significantly different attitudes and intentions depending on type of fashion product recycling. Consumers had more positive attitudes toward donation compared to resale and reform types of recycling. Consumer intentions toward resale and donation were significantly higher than their intention to reform. Furthermore, this study confirmed that the attitude-intention gap in fashion product recycling can be explained by individual prosocialness. The moderating effects of prosocialness on the associations between attitude and intention to recycle were significant. The implications of increasing consumers' behavior intention to recycle fashion products was discussed and future research suggestions are provided.

  • Consumers are highly interested in processed fishery products that are healthy and superior in terms of convenience, nourishment, and taste. However, current domestic research on processed fishery products is marginal. We systematically analyzed consumer consumption patterns and the relationship to pursuit benefits, selection attributes, satisfaction levels, and reasons for purchase. Consumers considered product information the most important selection attribute, whereas convenience scored highest for pursuit benefits. Furthermore, the influences of selection attributes and pursuit benefits on satisfaction level and the reason for purchasing an item were analyzed using demographic properties as control variables. The variables that affected satisfaction level were residential district (region: B= -0.268, p<0.05.), recipe (B=0.098, p<0.05), nutrients (B=0.124, p<0.05), convenience (B=0.283, p<0.001), and economics (B=0.138, p<0.05). The variables affecting the reason for purchasing were nutrients (B=0.173, p<0.001), convenience (B=0.277, p<0.001) and satisfaction level (B=0.163, p<0.001). Pursuit intention had significant effects on purchase intention; however, selection attributes had no significant effect on purchase intention. Therefore, consumer satisfaction had a significant effect on purchase intention. This result showed that if consumers were satisfied, they intended to repurchase. Attempts to increase repurchases by consumer are needed by fulfilling consumer satisfaction. These data can be utilized as a fundamental reference for sales promotions.

  • The purpose of this study was to measure the effects of trust, knowledge, optimism, risk and benefits on consumer attitudes toward genetically modified foods. A total of 326 questionnaires were completed. Moderated regression analysis was used to measure the relationships among the variables. The analysis results for the data indicated a good model fit in Model 2 rather than Model 1, in which the direct effects of trust, optimism and benefits had statistically significant direct effects on the respondents' attitudes toward genetically modified foods, while the direct effects of knowledge and risk were not statistically significant. As expected, the interaction term of risk and benefit had a significant effect on consumer attitude. Moreover, the effect of risk on consumer's attitude toward genetically modified foods was statistically significant at all levels of benefit, except at the lower benefit level. Finally, the results of this study indicated that genetically modified food developers and marketers should attach importance to the interaction effect of benefits to understand the elements of market demand and customer loyalty.

  • This study analyzes consumer fashion purchase patterns from a big data perspective. Transaction data from 1 million transactions at two Korean fashion brands were collected. To analyze the data, R, Python, the SPADE algorithm, and network analysis were used. Various consumer purchase patterns, including overall purchase patterns, seasonal purchase patterns, and age-specific purchase patterns, were analyzed. Overall pattern analysis found that a continuous purchase pattern was formed around the brands' popular items such as t-shirts and blouses. Network analysis also showed that t-shirts and blouses were highly centralized items. This suggests that there are items that make consumers loyal to a brand rather than the cachet of the brand name itself. These results help us better understand the process of brand equity construction. Additionally, buying patterns varied by season, and more items were purchased in a single shopping trip during the spring season compared to other seasons. Consumer age also affected purchase patterns; findings showed an increase in purchasing the same item repeatedly as age increased. This likely reflects the difference in purchasing power according to age, and it suggests that the decision-making process for pur- chasing products simplifies as age increases. These findings offer insight for fashion companies' establishment of item-specific marketing strategies.

  • Among eco-friendly energy, solar energy is one of the renewable energy sources that is developing in the spotlight in many countries. In line with this, the Korean government and local governments are carrying out projects to provide subsidies for the distribution of household solar power, raising the spread of household solar power and awareness. However, due to the lack of research on consumer perception of household solar power, this study investigated the perception of household solar power from 2015 to 2022 by setting the central word as solar power. As a result, 2016 had the highest number of collections, and when the top 50 words for each year were analyzed, it was confirmed that words related to the installation and maintenance of household solar power dominated. And through CONCOR analysis, a total of four were derived: solar energy recognition, renewable and eco-friendly energy recognition, solar government policies, solar companies, and perceptions of households. Through emotional analysis, it was confirmed that 2021 had the most positive data. As a result, consumer perception of household solar power is positive based on what was mentioned above, but research on how to use negative opinions on waste control and installation and maintenance should be conducted.

  • Korean and Japanese have accustomed themselves to eating rice (Oriza Sativa Japonica) with soup. In the formation of soup culture, Japanese has classified soups on the viewpoint of visual sensation. On the other hand, Korean has classified soups on the viewpoint of time. The new 'Japanese Tasi' culture has slowly infiltrated into the traditional 'Korean Tang' culture for a century. Therefore, this paper discusses the cultural conflicts laying stress on the consumer consciousness.
