A Study on the Corelationship between Apartment Unit Plans and Consumer's Opinions (아파트 단위평면구성과 소비자의견의 상관성에 관한 연구)

  • This study aimed to examine academic researches about apartment unit plans and consumer's opinions, and then to analyze the corelationship between the two, thus identifying the differences between the reality of housing market and consumers' opinionsl. On the analysis of the apartment unit plans($66m^2{\sim}164m^2$) provided by top 8 construction companies from March 2004 to December 2008. The remarkable change compared to existing apartments is an increase in the number of bays. This displays construction companies are responding to consumer' opinions actively. However, there were spaces which did not or passively reflect consumer's opinions enough. Especially, front side allocation of bedrooms beside master bedroom, kitchen/dining room and L-D-K & LD-K installation of a door between entrance and a living room. These are opinions that companies need to make efforts to reflect on apartment unit plans as much as possible.

A Comparison of Opinions on a Consumer Education Program for the Information Society between the Professionals and the Consumers (정보사회의 소비자교육내용 구성에 대한 전문가-소비자의 의견 비교 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to emphasize the importance of considering both counterparts, demanders and suppliers, of consumer education when a consumer education program is developed. In order to do that, opinions of both professionals and consumers on consumer education program in the information society are compared and analyzed. Also, the differences of consumer education program in the information society are discussed based upon the opinions of these two groups. This study finds out that there are many conflicts between professionals and consumers. Therefore, two questions shoed be considered when a consumer education program is developed and is applied in a practical setting: 'Is this appropriate for consumer education'and 'what is the demand of consumers who will actuary get that education'.

  • The Web has become an excellent source for gathering consumer opinions. There are now numerous Web sites containing such opinions, e.g., customer reviews of products, forums, discussion groups, and blogs. This paper focuses on online customer reviews of products. It makes some contributions. Especially it proposes minimalism and chunking framework for analyzing and comparing consumer opinions of competing products. Users are able to clearly see the strengths and weaknesses of each product in the minds of consumers in terms of various product features. This comparison is useful to both potential customers and product manufacturers. For a product manufacturer, the comparison enables it to easily gather marketing intelligence and product benchmarking information. In this paper, we only focus on mining opinion/product features that the reviewers have commented on. Five types of online review presentations are presented to mine such features. Our experimental results show that these techniques are useful to identify customers' opinions and trends.

  • Consumers repeatedly make small sum purchases through business-to-consumer contracts, usually without incident. Consumer areas have been increasing; therefore, consumer disputes have been occurring frequently as well. In international consumer transactions, it is not easy to solve consumer disputes by applying the laws of different countries. Resolving disputes by using the consumer arbitration system can be a measure to protect consumers. In the U.S., a class arbitration is being operated as a mixed dispute resolution system of class action and arbitration. Consumer Arbitration has long been a controversial issue in the U.S. It is therefore a lesson for us to examine related cases. A recent U.S. Supreme Court decision, DIRECTV v. Imburgia, was looked into and after a summary of the facts, issues, and opinions and opposing opinions that had a tight controversy, a close analysis was done. The analysis through this judgment is as follows: first, the contraction of consumer protection; second, the expansion of the Federal Arbitration Act scope; third, the class arbitration's restriction; and fourth, the submission of the arbitration fairness act.

  • This paper, reviews the characteristics of green consumers through a Focus Group Interview (FGI) method. This study shows that some remarkable changes are taking place in the lifestyles of green consumers compared with the past lifestyles of green consumers. Second, this study shows that green consumers have the correct green opinions about present environmental problems and they have a critical environmentally conscious attitude on this issue. Third, the research shows that green consumers behave environmentally (buying, use, and disposal acts) based on individual and personal standards. This study suggests (based on the research findings) methods to solve environmental problems to the government, corporations, and consumers as well as ways to increase the number of environmentally conscious consumers.

Consumer Opinions about the Factor in Food Selection and Functional Food (소비자들의 식품선택기준과 기능성 식품에 대한 인식도)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate important factors affecting food choice, specific dietary changes over past few years and to find out consumer opinions concerning the use of yogurt and oligosaccharides. Results of this study showed that three most important factors in food selection were taste (52.5%), nutrition (23.4%) and safety (15.8%). Three most important nutritive factors were protein (26.3%), calorie (19.2%) and vitamin (13.8%). Specific dietary changes of the respondent over past few years didn't affect meat intake, but increased vegetable and fruit intakes. Majority of the respondent (52.3%) ate yogurt more than 3 times per week and 35.6% of them ate $3{\sim}4$ times per month. Reasons for intake of oligosaccharides were as follows; low calorie (40.8%), sweetener (28.3%)and bifidogenic factor (25.0%). The respondent regarded that yogurt had more preventive effect of disease than that of oligosaccharide.

  • The purpose of this study is clarify consumer problem on the basis of understanding consumer behavior, that is, to make explicit the effect of economic levels and educational background upon consumer consciousness and consumption behavior. The data in this study is from a survey in 1973 by means of a questionnaire of the opinions of 200 housewives of Seoul. The ${\chi}^2$(Chi-Squire) was applied for the statistical analysis of the data and following results were found. Generally consumers lack understanding of economic matters and satisfactory consciousness on matters of consumption life. And there is significant difference among the class on several matters. That is, the lower economic level and educational background are, the lower the understanding of economic matters and consciousness of satisfaction are. So the consumer education must be carried out for lower class of economic level and educational background. And in the present awakening of salers and makers is needed for consumers.

Design Strategy and Outer Jacket Prototype Study for Sustainable Growth of Outdoor Brands (아웃도어 브랜드의 지속가능한 성장을 위한 디자인 전략과 아우터 재킷 프로토타입 연구)

  • Considering the need for a clothing product design strategy for the sustainable growth of outdoor brands, this study analyzed an outdoor consumer survey applying selected sustainable elements, reflected the results in design planning, suggested prototypes, and presented a design strategy. The consumer survey was conducted from July 19 to July 25, 2022, and 216 respondents were used for analysis. As a result of the outdoor consumer survey analysis of selected sustainable elements, the most preferred outdoor design concept involved the keywords 'zero waste' and 'transformable design' from a sustainable economic perspective. An outer jacket design was then created focusing on these two keywords and a prototype was produced. The SCD (sustainability, consumer, designer) design strategy was presented as a strategy for sustainable growth of outdoor brands, and the key factors of this strategy are as follows: (a) application of sustainable design elements, (b) reflection of consumer opinions on sustainability, (c) designers' sustainable mindset and decisions.

A Study on the Utilization of Arbitration in the Change of International E-commerce (국제 전자상거래 변화에 따른 중재활용방안)

  • This study recognizes that consumers are becoming important as a subject of commerce as they change from the existing e-commerce market to the consumer-led e-commerce market, and proposes the use of consumer intervention as a remedy for consumer damage in international e-commerce disputes. In Korea, there is no separate regulation on consumer arbitration, so we will analyze the U.S. arbitration judgment, which is the most active in consumer arbitration, and examine it through the U.S. arbitration judgment so that arbitration can become active as a remedy for consumer disputes in Korea. In summary, in the event of a dispute between consumers and companies through e-commerce, consumers' preference for arbitration was confirmed through repeated collection of opinions without coercion. It is necessary to revitalize arbitration in Korea to protect consumers through arbitration rather than litigation and to resolve disputes through active alternative dispute resolution as a solution to disputes in e-commerce, which is rapidly increasing through U.S. consumer arbitration cases. The topic of the activation of arbitration has been mentioned a lot before, but the preference for arbitration is still lower than that of litigation. However, from now on, as the appearance of existing commerce has changed to consumer-led e-commerce, it has proposed a plan to use arbitration to rescue consumers from damage as consumers as buyers grow in the market.

Consumer Opinions on Fast Foods and Foodservice -II. Noodle Chain Restaurants- (국내 패스트푸드점에 대한 소비자 의견조사 -제 2보 : 면류체인점을 중심으로-)

  • A secondary survey was conducted to investigate the customers' opinions on fast foods at thirty noodle chain restaurants in Seoul from November 16 to 25, 1988. The results are summarized as follows: 584 customers were surveyed consisting 42% of male and 58% of female. Proportion of age groups was 32.9% of adolescents, 38.7% of young adults, and 28.4% of adults. Females and young adults visited more than once or twice a week. The majority of customers had a favorable opinions to 'convenience in diet' and 'use on busy', but unfavorable to 'consistant quality of meals is keeping', and 'consistency in service is keeping'. The priority of important factors in purchasing fast foods were the cleanliness, taste of meals, convenience, and the price. Customers were most satisfied with atmosphere, while least satisfied with the price.
