A Study of Designing the Han-Guel Thesaurus Browser for Automatic Information Retrieval (자동정보검색을 위한 한글 시소러스 브라우저 구축에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to develop a new automatic system for the Korean thesaurus browser by which we can automatically control all the processes of searching queries such as, representation, generation, extension and construction of searching strategy and feedback searching. The system in this study is programmed by Delphi 4.0(PASCAL) and consists of database system, automatic indexing, clustering technique, establishing and expressing thesaurus, and automatic information retrieval technique. The results proved by this system are as follows: 1)By using the new automatic thesaurus browser developed by the new algorithm, we can perform information retrieval, automatic indexing, clustering technique, establishing and expressing thesaurus, information retrieval technique, and retrieval feedback. Thus it turns out that even the beginner user can easily access special terms about the field of a specific subject. 2) The thesaurus browser in this paper has such merits as the easiness of establishing, the convenience of using, and the good results of information retrieval in terms of the rate of speed, degree, and regeneration. Thus, it t m out very pragmatic.

  • The general housing causes various environmental problems on the squandering of the resources and the production of the construction wastes, as it was removed and rebuilt because of the short-life in 20-30 years after constructing. The short-life of the general housing makes the rebuilt-term short and takes a negative attitude in maintenance. In the other hand, the long-life housing is constantly dwelling house that considers the carbon reduction among the world issues, Support and Infill. The long-life housing promotes the durability of Support and maximize the variability of Infill through separation of Support & Infill. It's useful dwelling house in maintenance as well as various life-cycle and life style. As the maintenance guideline of dwelling house is used for long-life housing, there is not distinction considering who controls maintenance and there is not conception considering alteration, variability and convenience. Consequently, it is required to develop the proper maintenance guideline applied maintenance process for long-life housing. Therefore this study shows efficient maintenance guideline for manager in long-life housing.

Space Proposed in Accordance with the Usage Patterns and Analysis of the Charging Station Environment of Electric Vehicles

  • This study analyzed the electric vehicle recharging station status with recharging time limitation due to long waiting time, and figured out the user status by user interviews. And then this study verified the validity of hypothesis in terms of environmental design perspective and suggested layout of recharging station model. 21 recharging stations in Korea and station operation cases of 7 countries were examined. Except for the USA, the reality of electric vehicle recharging station today is the 1st proving stage focusing on the infrastructure construction of electric vehicle recharging station. It focuses on performance of recharging facility, use efficiency and operation environment of electric vehicle. About the effective waiting time of the user to use it should be studied. The current conditions of recharging station are as follows: Lack of independent recharging space, lack of facility that reduces external effect of recharging space, and lack of lounge for users during the waiting time. These three are essential factors constructing a suggesting model after basic layout, which needs proper measurement on the long recharging time and long waiting time. The essential factors are applied to electric vehicle recharging station layout so that users might use 'digital refresh" i.e. lounge and information contents service during the waiting time which provides convenience of recharging and emotional space with users. Such upgrade recharging station environmental model might resolve the burden of long recharging time which may contribute to the popularization of electric vehicles.

  • Many users have made the most often use of the SAS system in statistical data analysis all over the world. But it is difficult to use the grand procedures and language of the SAS system. Therefore the side of program development has changed in the graphic-oriented and menu-centered way like SASj ASSIST, SASjINSICHT after a version 6.08 turned into the Window environment. A biplots is a multivariate data analysis technique that graphically describes both relationships among the multidimensional observations and relationships among the variables. But there were not the procedure and graphic interface for a biplots algorithm in the SAS system. In this paper, there are two objects. First, we supply users with the convenience of the environment of CLI, which is constructed with SASj AF and SCL, to solve the problem that we have programed a biplots algorithm with the SASjIML one by one. Second, we reflect the current of the Information Age which means the spread of various kinds of system construction to extract useful information from data with the help of the development of hardware and software.

  • In a study of a peculiarity of the Korean residence construction as the central Jeong Yeo Chang's Residence, we proposed varieties service models for an anthropocentric U-Korean style with "a convenience, a security, an economical, a pleasure". It was to assume for this research that was established in case of all necessity IT infrastructures, and was structural alterations to a Korean residence sectional. It was used for Wall-Pad(Home Gateway) for controlling services, gas valves, remote inspection of a meter, curtains, doorlocks, boilers, temperature controllers, indoor ventilation systems, breakers, and expansion of crime prevention, energy. With introducing various service models on U-Korean style house, removing a negative view about Korean residence, we drew the best suited residence condition combining with a merit of the Korean residence and the Ubiquitous Intelligent Home Service. In order to realize U-Korean style house at the right time at the right place, a maintenance was required to be ensured based on social infrastructures and institutions and laws.

  • In this paper, mechanical behaviors of developed pedicle screw system, made of bio-mechanical materials(Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5), ale predicted using FEM analysis. As a first step, morphologic construction of normal Korean spines and surgical operation convenience are considered to design optimum pedicle screw system. In this step, various design variables are considered as design parameters to develop optimized models. As a next step, tension and bending tests are performed to improve the structural performance of the developed system using finite element method. In this step, required Static compression and bending test specifications by ASTM F-04 25 04 01 are applied to understand the bio-mechanical behaviors of the designed spinal implant system under various load types. As the results of this research, it is possible to develop efficient pedicle screw system, having enough rigidity and fixation to stand any spinal damage under allowable stress conditions.

  • Wheel-loader is a construction vehicle for uploading soil or sand into truck and transportation of materials, which requires large driving power and high rotational speed. To improve the working efficiency, the operator has to shift gears and control levers for bucket & boom simultaneously. Therefore, the automatic transmission has been introduced to enhance operator's convenience and enable effective operation. To develop the automatic transmission for the wheel-loader, technologies such as gears and a clutch-pack design and shift algorithm are required for improvement of shift quality. In this paper, the shift algorithm for the wheel-loader was developed and its shift pattern was analyzed. As the shift control is affected by the pressure profile for the clutch control, the shift quality depending on the pressure profile has been evaluated using experiment and simulation model analysis.

A Study on Age-related Difference in Risk Perception of Breast Cancer and Influencing Predictors (연령대별 유방암 위험지각과 이에 영향을 미치는 요인 비교)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the age-related differences in risk perception of breast cancer and the age-related differences in predictors of risk perception. Method: The subjects were 553 women aged from 15 to 64 who lived in Seoul, Kwang-Ju, Jeon-nam province. Data was collected by self-reported questionnaire surveys using convenience sampling. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, F-test with Scheffe test, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS-Win 10.0 version. Result: Risk perception of breast cancer was different by age group. Especially, risk perception in teenagers and the 50~64 years group was lower than the other groups. Additionally, general fear of breast cancer, information seeking style, experience, and knowledge were different between the age groups. The results of multiple regression analyses predicting risk perception indicated the following significant predictors: general fear and knowledge in all the subjects, general fear and experience in the 20~29 years group, and general fear in the other age groups. Conclusion: These results suggested that the construction of educational messages for breast cancer prevention and early detection should be designed differently for each age group.

  • As research on secondary batteries becomes important, interest in analytical methods to examine the condition of secondary batteries is also increasing. Among these methods, the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) method is one of the most attractive diagnostic techniques due to its convenience, quickness, accuracy, and low cost. However, since the obtained spectra are complicated signals representing several impedance elements, it is necessary to understand the whole electrochemical environment for a meaningful analysis. Based on the understanding of the whole system, the circuit elements constituting the cell can be obtained through construction of a physically sound circuit model. Therefore, this mini-review will explain how to construct a physically sound circuit model according to the characteristics of the battery cell system and then introduce the relationship between the obtained resistances of the bulk (Rb), charge transfer reaction (Rct), interface layer (RSEI), diffusion process (W) and battery characteristics, such as the state of charge (SOC), temperature, and state of health (SOH).

Monitoring degradation in concrete filled steel tubular sections using guided waves

  • Concrete filled steel tubes are extensively applied in engineering structures due to their resistance to high tensile and compressive load and convenience in construction. But one major flaw, their vulnerability to environmental attack, can severely reduce the strength and life of these structures. Degradation due to corrosion of steel confining the concrete is one of the major durability problems faced by civil engineers to maintain these structures. The problem accelerates as inner surface of steel tube is in contact with concrete which serves as electrolyte. If it remains unnoticed, it further accelerates and can be catastrophic. This paper discusses a non-destructive degradation monitoring technique for early detection corrosion in steel tubes in CFST members. Due to corrosion, damage in the form of debonding and pitting occurs in steel sections. Guided ultrasonic waves have been used as a feasible and attractive solution for the detection and monitoring of corrosion damages in CFST sections. Guided waves have been utilized to monitor the effect of notch and debond defects in concrete filled steel tubes simulating pitting and delamination of steel tubes from surrounding concrete caused by corrosion. Pulse transmission has been used to monitor the healthy and simulated damaged specimens. A methodology is developed and successfully applied for the monitoring of concrete filled steel tubular sections undergoing accelerated chloride corrosion. The ultrasonic signals efficiently narrate the state of steel tube undergoing corrosion.
