  • The glass formation behavior was investigated in the melt spun Zr-Ti-Cu-Ni-X (X=B, P and Si) ribbons. The magnitude of supercooled liquid region of Zr-Ti-Cu-Ni alloy increased with an addition of alloying element. The glass transition temperature and the crystallization temperature increased and the magnitude of supercooled liquid region decreased with increasing the content of alloying elements. The largest supercooled liquid region was observed in the Si containing alloy. This is believed to be due to the dense atom packing with the optimum atomic size ratio of constituent elements.

  • The objective of this study is to suggest planning directions for rural landscape management and conservation. With wide literature review, the Rural Traditional Theme Village were selected as case study areas to search for the main elements according to various spatial types. The pictures taken from the site investigation were used for a questionnaire survey to understand and to find the value of rural landscape. Finally, we found out 25 items from 3 spatial type (rural life area, agriculture production area and natural environment area), and Analyzed the Preference of rural landscape elements.

  • In this study, three cold-rolled TRIP steels containing different Al content (0.04wt%, 1.0 wt.% and 2.00wt%) were fabricated to understand the complex effects of Al in TRIP steel. The influences of Al on microstructural evolution of cold-rolled TRIP steels have been analyzed by using advanced analysis techniques, such as transmission electron microscope (TEM) and three dimensional atom probe tomography (3D-APT). TEM results revealed that second phases such as bainte and retained austenite decrease with increase of Al content. In addition, 3D-APT was used to characterize atomic-scale distribution of alloying elements at the constituent phases. Through these analysis techniques, the advanced characteristics of constituent microstructure in TRIP steels were identified depending on Al contents in TRIP steels.

  • The present study aims to design a multiplayer microstrip antenna with composite sandwich construction and to estimate structural behavior of this multiplayer structure for the next generation of structural surface technology. This is termed Surface-Antenna-Structure indicating that structural surface becomes antenna. Constituent materials were selected considering electrical properties as well as mechanical properties. For the antenna performance, antenna elements inserted into structural layers were designed for satellite communication at a resonant frequency of 12.5 GHz and final demonstration article was $16\times16$ array antenna. From electrical measurements it was shown that antenna performances were in good agreement with design requirements. Structural analysis showed this antenna structure was well designed for the mechanical rigidity. All constituent materials were characterized independently. The SAS concept is the first serious attempt at integration for both antenna and composite engineers and promises innovative future communication technology.

  • The effect of Mn on the densification and the microstructural change in W heavy alley was investigated with adopting the improved Mn-adding method. In order to avoid the pore formation problems associated with Mn powder mixing to the other constituent powders, Mn was added afterwards to the sintered heavy alloy; Mn powder was spread homogeneously on the surface of the sintered heavy alloy compact, and this Mn powder contained specimen was resintered at the same sintering temperature. As expected, the resintered specimen showed the pore free microstructure because Mn was reduced separately from the other constituent elements. It was also founded that W grains grew rapidly at the initial stage of resintering treatment due to the activated reprecipitation of the excess W atoms substituted by Mn atoms, but the growth rate of W grains was slowly lowered with the prolonged sintering time, especially, compared to the Mn free heavy alloy. Such a retardation of grain growth should be attributed to the decreased W solubility in the Mn contented matrix phase. Furthermore, Mn addition resulted in the decrease of contiguity by improving the wetting between matrix phase and W grain.

  • The odor removal of landfill site leachate was carried out using pyroligenous liquid. The constituent elements of pyroligenous liquid and leachate were also analysed, employing Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy(AAS). Before order removal, the heavy metal ions such as Pb, Zn, Cu, Mn, Fe and Ni, in pyroligenous liquid were detected with ultra trace level. However, in this liquid, other metal ions such as As, Hg and Cd were not observed. The optimum condition for removing odor fromthe leachate was observed in 15 times dilution of pyroligenous liquid. Also, the degree of outlet odor was 1. Furthermore, the concentration of odor constituent compounds, e.g. $H_2S, NH_3, NH_2$ and $CO_2$ in the leachate was remarkably reduced. Finally, water quality of the leachate was improved.

  • The Araliae continental is Radix is the root of Aralia continentalis Kitagawa, which belongs to the Araliaceae and is distributed in Korea, Japan, Manchuria, China and Sahalane. It is generally used as a folk medicine for its excellent medical action and efficacy in various symptoms such as headache, edema, inflammation, rheumatism and neuralgia. (-)-Pimara-8(14)-15-dien-19-oic acid (1) and l-kaur-16-en-19-oic acid have been reported as the major constituent of A. continental is Radix. Essential oils such as limonene, sabinene, myrcene, humulene and sesamin, ${\beta}$-sitosterol are also reported as constituent elements. (omitted)

  • Terms are linguistic realization of technical concepts. Term constituents are important elements used for representing the concept. Since many new terms are created from the modification or combination of existing constituents, it is important to analyze term constituents for understanding the concept of the term. It means that term constituents offer clues for understanding the concept of terms. However, there are a couple of difficulties in matching concept unit and term constituents such as mismatching between a term constituent and a concept unit, homonym of term constituents and synonym of term constituents. To solve them, it is necessary to recognize concept units of term constituents. In this paper, we define an English term constituent as the concept unit and use an alignment algorithm between English-Korean term constituents in order to recognize concept units of term constituents. By our alignment algorithm we recognize Korean term constituents corresponding to an English term constituent with about $93\%$ precision.

  • Diffusion is a powerful tool to understand geological processes recorded in terrestrial rocks as well as extraterrestrial materials. Since the diffusive exchange of elements or isotopes may have occurred differently in the solar nebula (high temperature and rapid cooling) and on the parent bodies (fluid-assisted thermal metamorphism at relatively low temperature), it is particularly important to model elemental or isotopic diffusion profiles within the mineral grains to better understand the evolution of the early solar system. A numerical model with the finite difference method for the fast grain boundary diffusion was established for the exchange of elements or isotopes between constituent minerals in a closed system. The fast grain boundary diffusion numerical model was applied to 1) 26Mg variation in plagioclase of an amoeboid olivine aggregate (AOA) from a CH chondrite and 2) Fe-Mg interdiffusion between chondrules, AOA, and matrix minerals in a CO chondrite. Equilibrium isotopic fractionation and equilibrium partitioning were also included in the numerical model, based on the assumption that equilibrium can be reached at the interfaces of mineral crystals. The numerical model showed that diffusion profiles observed in chondrite samples likely resulted from the diffusive exchange of elements or isotopes between the constituent minerals. This study also showed that the closure temperature is determined not only by the mineral with the slowest diffusivity in the system, but also strongly depends on the constituent mineral abundances.
