$Si_3N_4$ trap layer의 두께에 따른 charge trap 특성 (Charge trap characteristics with $Si_3N_4$ tmp layer thickness)

  • The charge trapping and tunnelling characteristics with various thickness of $Si_3N_4$ layer were investigated for application of TBE (Tunnel Barrier Engineered) non-volatile memory. We confirmed that the critical thickness of no charge trapping was existed with decreasing $Si_3N_4$ thickness. Also, the charge trap centroid x and charge trap density were extracted by using CCS (Constant Current Stress) method. Through the optimized thickness of $Si_3N_4$ layer, it can be improve the performance of non-volatile memory.

Instability of Electrically Driven Polymer Liquid Jets

  • Polymer nanofibers can be generated by a electrospinning process. The process involves electrically charged jet of polymer solutions evolving from a droplet. The jet stretches in vertical direction due to the difference between charged particle and constant current located at the collector, while the Coulomb and viscoelastic forces start to contribute to radial and azimuthal (torsional) stretching. In this paper, the unstable dynamics of the liquid polymer jet is examined experimentally and theoretically. A complex viscoelastic rheological model has been adopted to analyze the behavior of a charged liquid jet. The model includes complex phenomena of stress relaxation of the liquid jet resulting from the competing force components. The experimental data of the jet paths captured by high-speed videocamera also confirm the similar behavior with the predictions.

Coupling shape-memory alloy and embedded informatics toward a metallic self-healing material

  • This paper investigates the possibility of a strategy for an automatic full recover of a structural component undergoing loading-unloading (fatigue) cycles: full recover means here that no replacement is required at the end of the mission. The goal is to obtain a material capable of self healing earlier before the damage becomes irreversible. Attention is focused on metallic materials, and in particular on shape memory alloys, for which the recovering policy just relies on thermal treatments. The results of several fatigue tests are first reported to acquire a deep understanding of the physical process. Then, for cycles of constant amplitude, the self-healing objective is achieved by mounting, on the structural component of interest, a suitable microcontroller. Its input, from suitable sensors, covers the current stress and strain in the alloy. The microcontroller elaborates from the input the value of a decisional parameter and activates the thermal process when a threshold is overcome.

Comparison of code provisions on lap splices

  • The code provisions on lap splices are critically assessed in the light of 203 beams without transverse reinforcement and 278 beams with transverse reinforcement. For comparison, the provisions given in the ACI 318, Eurocode 2, and TS 500 Codes are considered. The ACI Committee 408 recommended provision and a new proposal are also taken into account throughout the assessment. The comparison with real beam tests where the splice region was subjected to constant moment indicates that current provisions in the Codes do not agree acceptably with test results. The steel stress prediction graphs calculated by means of the Code provisions show high scatter and remain unsafe especially for test data without transverse reinforcement. Both the recent recommended provision by ACI Committee 408 and a new design expression proposed by the author have much less scatter with fewer unsafe predictions. The simplified design provision proposed by ACI Committee 408 does not yield similar results to that of the advanced design provision proposed by the same committee and therefore it could conveniently be replaced with the simpler equation proposed by the author.

  • Dielectric thin film of N/O ($Si_{3]N_{4}/SiO_{2}$) for high density stacked dynamic-RAM cell was formed by LPCVD and oxidation(dry & pyrogenic oxidation methods) of the top 7nm $Si_{3]N_{4}$ film. The thickness, structure and composition of this film were measured by ellipsometer, high resolution TEM, AES and SIMS. The insulating characteristics(I-V characteristics) were investigated by HP 4145, and the characteristics of TDDB (Time Dependent Dielectric Breakdown) were evaluated by using CCST(Current Constant Stress Time) method. In this experiment, The optimum oxidation condition for preparation of good insulating and TDDB characteristics of N/O film was pyrogenic oxidation at 85$0^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes. The leakage current was reduced from 400pA to 7.5pA when SiO$_{2}$ film with thickness of 2nm was formed on the top of $Si_{3]N_{4}$ film by the pyrogenic oxidation method.

Effect of Low-Temperature Sintering on Electrical Properties and Aging Behavior of ZVMNBCD Varistor Ceramics

  • This paper focuses on the electrical properties and stability against DC accelerated aging stress of ZnO-V2O5-MnO2-Nb2O5-Bi2O3-Co3O4-Dy2O3 (ZVMNBCD) varistor ceramics sintered at 850 - 925 ℃. With the increase of sintering temperature, the average grain size increases from 4.4 to 11.8 mm, and the density of the sintered pellets decreases from 5.53 to 5.40 g/㎤ due to the volatility of V2O5, which has a low melting point. The breakdown field abruptly decreases from 8016 to 1,715 V/cm with the increase of the sintering temperature. The maximum non-ohmic coefficient (59) is obtained when the sample is sintered at 875 ℃. The samples sintered at below 900 ℃ exhibit a relatively low leakage current, less than 60 mA/㎠. The apparent dielectric constant increases due to the increase of the average grain size with the increase of the sintering temperature. The change tendency of dissipation factor at 1 kHz according to the sintering temperature coincides with the tendency of the leakage current. In terms of stability, the samples sintered at 900 ℃ exhibit both high non-ohmic coefficient (45) and excellent stability, 0.8% in 𝚫EB/EB and -0.7 % in 𝚫α/α after application of DC accelerated aging stress (0.85 EB/85 ℃/24 h).

고장도 콘크리트의 부착특성에 관한 연구 (Bond Characteristics of High-Strength Concrete)

  • 본 연구는 8개의 직접인장실험을 수행하여 축방향 부재의 콘크리트강도에 따른 부착특성과 균열거동을 조사하였다. 주변수는 콘크리트강도로 보통강도 24-25 MPa, 고강도 61-63 MPa이다. 직접인장시험체는 2종류로서 짧은 시험체는 횡균열 사이의 인장부재를 모형화하였고, 긴 시험체는 다수의 횡균열이 발생하는 인장부재를 모형화하였다. 이러한 직접인장실험을 수행하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 부착강도는 압축강도에 비례하여 증가한다. 그러므로 고강도콘크리트에서 응력교란구간의 길이는 더 짧아지고 횡균열 간격이 더 줄어든다. 콘크리트강도가 25MPa에서 61MPa으로 증가하였지만 쪼갬균열하중은 거의 같게 나타났다. 반면에 횡균열하중은 인장강도에 비례하여 증가하였다. 따라서 고강도콘크리트를 사용할 때에 현행 구조설계기준의 정착길이 산정방법은 재고될 필요가 있고, 피복두께와 순철근간격을 더 크게 하든지 횡보강철근의 의무화하는 것이 현행 기준에 추가되기를 권장한다.

변동하중을 받는 강구조부재의 피로거동 해석 (The Fatigue Evaluation of Structural Steel Members under Variable-Amplitude Loading)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 변동하중을 받는 구조부재의 피로거동을 해석하는 것이다. 이 연구의 해석과정은 다음과 같다. (1) 도로교의 실동응력파측정 및 통계적해석 (2) 등가의 일정진폭하중과, 통계적해석에 의해 모형화된 변동하중하(下)의 피로시험 (3) 등가응력개념의 RMC 모델에 의한 변동하중하(下)의 피로해석 등가응력개념에 의한 변동하중하(下)의 피로해석은 대부분의 구조용강재의 균열성장속도회귀지수가 $m{\fallingdotseq}3$이므로 이론적으로 RMC 모델이 합당하다. 변동하중하(下)의 피로시험해석결과 RMC 모델이 기존의 RMC 모델보다 변동하중에 의한 피로거동치(da/dN-${\Delta}K$, $N_f$)에 더 가까웠다. 또 변동하중하(下)에서 응력범위의 변화로 인한 interaction효과나 응력범위적용순서(sequence)효과 등은 피로수명에 거의 영향을 미치지 않으며, 응력범위변화속도가 클수록 피로균열성장속도가 빨라짐을 알 수 있었다.

서안경계류 역학을 이해하기 위한 실험 장치 및 방법 개발 (Development of Apparatus and Methods for Understanding the Dynamics of the Western Boundary Current)

  • 서안경계류의 발생 역학을 이해하기 위하여 간단한 실험 장치와 방법을 개발하였다. 위도에 따른 코리올리 파라미터의 변화(즉 베타효과)를 구현하기 위하여 바닥이 경사진 반 시계 방향으로 회전하는 수조를 이용하였다. 중위도 해양에 작용하는 바람 응력은 수조 상부에서 시계 방향으로 회전하는 원판으로 대신하였다. 수조 바닥의 형태와 수조의 회전 유무의 조합으로 구성된 4가지 실험을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 베타효과가 포함된 실험에서 서안경계류와 유사한 흐름과 스베드럽 영역을 볼 수 있었다. 반면에, 베타효과 없이 일정한 코리올리 힘만 있을 때는 수조 속의 물은 관성류의 특징을 나타냈다. 우리는 또한 회전 유체가 굳어진 것처럼 변한다는 테일러-프라우드만 효과를 확인 하였다. 이 연구에서 개발된 장치와 방법은 베타효과에 의한 서안경계류를 이해하는 데 도움을 줄 것으로 기대한다.

Ni-Pd 합금 전해도금의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Characteristics of the Ni-Pd Alloy Electroplating)

  • The test equipment becomes more important with the development of semiconductor industry. MEMS probe is an important testing component to detect the defects from the generated electric signal when it contacts the metal pad of semiconductor devices. Ni-Pd alloy has been paid attention to as a candidate of MEMS probe material because of its high surface hardness and relatively low resistivity. In this study, electroplated Ni-Pd alloy has been prepared by using ethylene diamine as a complexing agent. Solid solution alloy coating could be formed when concentration of palladium chloride and current density were in the ranges of 1~5 mM and $0.2{\sim}1.5A/dm^2$, respectively. The increase of current density brought about an decrease in palladium content, which made both of lattice parameter and grain size smaller. As a result of grain refinement, high hardness could be obtained. However, surface cracking was observed due to residual stress when the current density was above $1.3A/dm^2$. When effects of heat treatment temperature on hardness and sheet resistance were investigated, the accompanied grain growth decreased both of them. The decrease of hardness remained stable at a temperature of $200^{\circ}C$. The sheet resistance was drastically reduced at $100^{\circ}C$. After that, it was found to become constant.
