압력 변화 모사를 통한 초소형 연소기에서의 열손실 예측 모텔 개발 (Development of Model for Heat Loss from a Micro Combustor Using Pressure Simulation)

  • As the size of a combustor decreases to a MEMS scale, heat loss increases and becomes a dominant effect on the performance of the devices. Existing models, however, are not adequate to predict the heat transfer and combustion processes in such small scales. In the present study, a semi-empirical model to calculate heat loss from a micro combustor is described. The model derives heat transfer coefficients that best fits the heat loss characteristics of a micro combustor that is represented by transient pressure record after combustion is completed. From conservation of energy equation applied to the burned gas inside the combustor, a relationship between pressure and heat transfer is reduced. Two models for heat transfer coefficients were tested; a constant and first order polynomial of temperature with its coefficients determined from fitting with measurements. The model was tested on a problem of cooling process of burnt gas in a micro combustor and comparison with measurements showed good agreements. The heat transfer coefficients were used for combustion calculation in a micro vessel. The results showed the dependence of flame speed on the scale of the chamber through enhanced heat loss.

연료의 불균질성을 갖는 DME HCCI엔진에서 과급의 효과에 관한 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis for Booster Effect in DME HCCI Engine with Fuel Stratification)

  • The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding of the effects of fuel stratification on reducing the pressure-rise rate at high load in HCCI combustion. It was found that fuel stratification offers good potential to achieve a staged combustion event and reduced pressure-rise rates. The engine is fueled with Di-Methyl Ether (DME) which has unique 2-stage heat release. Numerical analysis is conducted with single and multi-zones model and detailed chemical reaction scheme is done by chemkin and senkin. Calculation result shows that proper fuel stratification prolongs combustion duration and reduce pressure rise rate. Besides IMEP, combustion efficiency and indicated thermal efficiency keep constant. However, too wide fuel stratification increases pressure rise rate and CO and NOx emissions in exhaust gas.

고압에서 β-glucosidase 반응속도론 및 평형에 관한 연구 (Kinetics and Equilibrium Study on β-glucosidase under High Hydrostatic Pressure)

  • 중고압 하에서 $\beta$-glucosidase효소반응을 물리화학적 관점에서 연구하였다. 모델 기질 (p-nitrophenyl-${\beta}$-D-glucopyranoside)에 대한 $\beta$-glucosidase 효소의 작용에 대한 압력 효과를 실험 하였다. 즉, 압력 조건(25MPa, 50 MPa, 75 MPa, 100 MPa)과 시간 (10분, 60분, 1시간, 6시간, 24시간, 40시간)의 처리 조건에서 효소 활성도를 분광학적인 표준방법에 따라 측정하였다. 효소-기질 반응의 단계를 크게 kinetic 구간과 평형 구간으로 구분하여 물리화학적 모델을 적용하여, 정 역반응속도 상수, 평형상수, 압력에 의한 부피 감소 등을 산출하였다. 대기압에서 100MPa까지 압력이 증가할수록 효소-기질 반응의 생성물이 더 많이 형성되었으며 전형적인 kinetic 구간과 평형 구간이 나타났다. 압력, 시간, 생성물농도 등의 데이터로부터 kinetic 구간과 평형에서의 생성물 예측 모델을 완성하였다. 결론적으로 중고압 처리에 의하여 효소-기질 반응이 촉진됨을 알 수 있었고, 임의의 압력 및 시간 조건에 따른 생성물의 농도를 예측할 수 있게 되었다.

  • 75톤급 가스발생기 기술검증시제에서 나타난 산화제 분사기 차압의 증가 원인을 파악하기 위하여 축소형 가스발생기를 설계, 제작하였다. 설계점 및 탈설계점 시험 조건을 포함한 총 6회의 연소시험을 성공적으로 수행하였다. 연소시험 결과 연소압을 고정한 후 혼합비를 증가시킨 경우 연료 및 산화제 유량계수는 일정한 것으로 나타났으며, 혼합비를 고정한 후 연소압을 증가시킨 경우에도 연료 및 산화제 유량계수는 변함이 없는 것으로 파악되었다.

  • Fretting, which is a special type of wear, is defined as small amplitude relative motion along the contacting interface between two materials. The structural integrity of steam generators in nuclear power plants is very much dependent upon the fretting wear characteristics of Inconel 690 U-tubes. In this study, a finite element model that can simulate fretting wear on the secondary side of the steam generator was developed and used for a quantitative investigation of the fretting wear phenomenon. Finite element modeling of elastic contact wear problems was performed to demonstrate the feasibility of applying the finite element method to fretting wear problems. The elastic beam problem, with existing solutions, is treated as a numerical example. By introducing a control parameter s, which scaled up the wear constant and scaled down the cycle numbers, the algorithm was shown to greatly reduce the time required for the analysis. The work rate model was adopted in the wear model. In the three-dimensional finite element analysis, a quarterly symmetric model was used to simulate cross tubes contacting at right angles. The wear constant of Inconel 690 in the work rate model was taken as $K=26.7{\times}10^{-15}\;Pa^{-1}$ from experimental data obtained using a fretting wear test rig with a piezoelectric actuator. The analyses revealed donut-shaped wear along the contacting boundary, which is a typical feature of fretting wear.

  • 5마리의 잡견(18~22kg)을 이용하여, 경막외강에 생리식염수를 연속 점적하여 뇌사를 유발시킨다. 뇌사발생시 점의 뇌압은 122.0$\pm$6.25mmHg이며 뇌사후 30분 최고치에 도달하였다. 뇌사를 유발시키는데 필요한 생리식염수의 양은 4.8$\pm$1.0ml이었고, 143.0$\pm$30.9분이 필요하였다. 뇌사가 올때까지 동맥압은 변하지 않지만 그후 점차 떨어지고, 맥박수는 뇌사 30분 후 안정시 보다 50% 정도 증가한 최고치에 달한다. 체온, 심박출량, 폐동맥압, 좌심실 이완말기압등의 혈역학적 지표는 뇌사진행 중에는큰 변화가 없었고, 심실 기외수축이 일시적으로 나타난 이외에는 부정맥도 관찰되지 않았다. 급작스러운 뇌압 상승 모델에서 보였던 혈역학적 변화는 관찰되지 않았다.

4기통 4사이클 스파크 점화기관의 성능 및 배기조성 예측에 관한 연구 (Study on the prediction of performance and emission of a 4-cylinder 4-stroke cycle spark ignition engine)

  • In this study, the computer program was developed to predict the engine performances and exhaust emissions of a 4-cylinder 4-stroke cycle ignition engine including intake and exhaust system. The simulation models applied to each process were as follows. For the combustion process, two zone model which requires only one empirical constant was applied, and for the gas exchange process, the method of characteristics that allows the calculations of the time variation and spatial variation of properties along the pipes was used. Constant pressure perfect mixing model was applied to take into account of the interaction at manifold branches. To predict exhaust emissions, twelve chemical species were considered to be present in combustion products. These species were calculated through equilibrium thermodynamics and kinetic theory. The empirical constants reduced to least number as possible were determined through the comparison with the experimental indicator diagram of one particular operating condition and these constants were applied to other operating conditions. The predicted performances and emissions were compared with the experimental results over the wide range of operating conditions.

Estimating the Mixture of Proportional Hazards Model with the Constant Baseline Hazards Function

  • Cox's proportional hazards model (PHM) has been widely applied in the analysis of lifetime data, and it can be characterized by the baseline hazard function and covariates influencing systems' lifetime, where the covariates describe operating environments (e.g. temperature, pressure, humidity). In this article, we consider the constant baseline hazard function and a discrete random variable of a covariate. The estimation procedure is developed in a parametric framework when there are not only complete data but also incomplete one. The Expectation-Maximization (EM) algorithm is employed to handle the incomplete data problem. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the accuracy and some properties of the estimation results.

수소 예혼합기의 정상 및 이상연소에 관한 수치해석 (A Numerical Study on Normal and Abnormal Combustion in Hydrogen Premixture)

  • Characteristics of the flame propagation for normal and abnormal combustion in hydrogen premixture in a cylindrical constant-volume combustion chamber are studied numerically. A detailed hydrogen oxidation kinetic mechanism, mixture transport properties and a model describing spark ignition process are used. The calculated pressure-time history of the stable deflagration wave propagation agrees well with the experiment. The ignition of the premixture in the unburned gas, initiated by the hot spot, causes a transition from deflagration to detonation under some initial temperature and pressure. Under the initial conditions with high temperature and pressure, excessive ignition energy initiates a strong blast wave and a detonation wave that follows. The chemical reaction in the detonation wave is much more vigorous than that in the deflagration wave and the peak pressure in the detonation wave is much higher than the equilibrium value.

연속재하 압밀시험에서 적정 간극수압비에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Proper Pore pressure ratio in Continuous Loading Consolidation tests)

  • Continuous loading is applied the sample has been developed to overcome some of the problems associated with the incremental loading consolidation test. Therefore, it is able to reduce the test time and provide a well defined the curve of effective stress versus strain due to continuous stress-strain points. Also, the constant rate of strain consolidation(CRSC) test has been accepted widely as a standard method in foreign countries because of its many advantages. However, in Korea the CRSC test has not been used in engineering practice and experimentally verified. Because there is not a precise criterion of testing despite consolidation characteristics are influenced on strain rate and Pore pressure ratio. Consequently, it is difficult to apply in engineering practice. In this study, artificial neural networks are applied to the estimation of th proper strain rate and pore pressure ratio of the CRSC test. This study shows the possibility of utilizing the artificial neural networks model of estimation of the strain rate and pore pressure ratio in the CRSC test.
