This article addresses the problem of testing whether the shape parameters in k independent Weibull populations are equal. We propose a Bayesian model selection procedure for equality of the shape parameters. The noninformative prior is usually improper which yields a calibration problem that makes the Bayes factor to be defined up to a multiplicative constant. So we propose the objective Bayesian model selection procedure based on the fractional Bayes factor and the intrinsic Bayes factor under the reference prior. Simulation study and a real example are provided.

The rubber crawler system for farm machine is composed of driving units such as track rollers, driving sprockets and rubber crawlers. Vibration characteristics of the rubber crawler system varies by driving speed, center of gravity, mass□moment of inertial□location arrangement of track rollers and dynamic parameters such as dynamic spring constant (k) and viscous damping coefficient (c) of a rubber crawler. In general, vibration of the rubber crawler system occurs by reason for mechanical interaction between the rubber crawler and track rollers. Because the dynamic spring constant and viscous damping coefficient vary periodically by mechanical characteristics(deformation characteristics) of the rubber crawler when track rollers drive on the between lugs of the rubber crawler. Therefore, both dynamic parameters k and c were expressed as Fourier series by authors through the shaking test of the rubber crawler and further, vibration characteristics of the rubber crawler system could be simulated analytically. However, actual values of dynamic parameters k and c are different from those obtained by the shaking test because dynamic characteristics of the rubber crawler vary by the effect of variable tension and driving resistance of track rollers. So, actual values of k and c should be identified in the condition of actual driving test. In this study, dynamic parameters such as k and c of the rubber crawler system, which are expressed as Fourier series, were identified using the Gauss-Newton Method. Therefore, validity of identified parameters k and c was discussed through the simulation using experimental data of actual driving test. As a result, in the Fourier series of dynamic parameters of spring constant k and viscous damping coefficient c, excellent parameter convergence and simulation were observed using the Fourier series' zero order and first term of the dynamic model. Furthermore, it was clarified that identification for model parameters which are fitted to actual dynamic motion (vibration) wave of the crawler system was possible by using the time series data observed in vertical and pitching motion of the crawler system.

This paper presents time a constant estimation of induction motor using MRAS(model reference adaptive system) fuzzy control. The rotor time constant is enabled from the estimation of rotor flux, which has two methods. One is to estimate it based on the stator current and the other is to integrate motor terminal voltage. If the parameters are correct, these two methods must yield the same results. But, for the case where the rotor time constant is over or under estimated, the two rotor nut estimation have different angles. Furthermore their angular positions are related to the polarity of rotor time constant estimation error. Based on these observation, this paper develops a rotor time constant update algorithm using fuzzy control. This paper shows the theoretical analysis as well as the simulation results to verify the effectiveness of the new method.

In this paper we look at the effect of Fringe-Enhanced-Barrier-lowering (FEBL) for high-K dielectric MOSFETs and the dependence of FEBL on various technological parameters (spacer dielectrics, overlap length, dielectric stack, S/D junction depth and dielectric thickness). We show that FEBL needs to be contained in order to maintain the performance advantage with scaled high-K dielectric MOSFETs. The degradation in high-K dielectric MOSFETs is also identified as due to the additional coupling between the drain-to-source that occurs through the gate insulator, when the gate dielectric constant is significantly higher than the silicon dielectric constant. The technology parameters required to minimize the coupling through the high-K dielectric are identified. It is also shown that gate dielectric stack with a low-K material as bottom layer (very thin $SiO_2$ or oxy-nitride) will be helpful in minimizing FEBL. The circuit performance issues with high-K MOS transistors are also analyzed in this paper. An optimum range of values for the dielectric constant has been identified from the delay and the energy dissipation point of view. The dependence of the optimum K for different technology generations has been discussed. Circuit models for the parasitic capacitances in high-K transistors, by incorporating the fringing effects, have been presented.

This paper deals with the free vibrations of arches with rectangular hollow section having constant area. The differential equations governing free vibrations of arches are derived in polar coordinates, in which the effect of rotatory inertia is included. Natural frequencies is computed numerically for parabolic arches with clamped-clamped, clamped-hinged and hinged-hinged ends. Comparisons of natural frequencies between this study and reference are made to validate theories and numerical methods developed herein. The lowest four natural frequency parameters are reported, with the rotatory inertia, as functions of three non-dimensional system parameters: the breadth ratio, the thickness ratio and the shape ratio

The parameters of each basin, required for the accurate analysis of flood runoff using Storage Function Model, are estimated. Prior to the estimation, sensitivity analysis and extraction of new regional topographic factors for Han River basin are conducted. Based on the result, the outflow constant of basin model is calculated through regression analysis in relation with pre-flood runoff depth. The storage constant of basin model is derived by the optimum storage constant equation, according to the flood event of each basin. The model using the mentioned parameters was compared with K-Water model of Korea Water Resources Corporation and the model of Han River Flood Control Office, and proved to correspond to the observed hydrograph more.
In this research, the nonlinear static, buckling and vibration analysis of viscoelastic micro-composite beam reinforced by various distributions of boron nitrid nanotube (BNNT) with initial geometrical imperfection by modified strain gradient theory (MSGT) using finite element method (FEM) are presented. The various distributions of BNNT are considered as UD, FG-V and FG-X and also, the extended rule of mixture is used to estimate the properties of micro-composite beam. The components of stress are dependent to mechanical, electrical and thermal terms and calculated using piezoelasticity theory. Then, the kinematic equations of micro-composite beam using the displacement fields are obtained. The governing equations of motion are derived using energy method and Hamilton's principle based on MSGT. Then, using FEM, these equations are solved. Finally the effects of different parameters such as initial geometrical imperfection, various distributions of nanotube, damping coefficient, piezoelectric constant, slenderness ratio, Winkler spring constant, Pasternak shear constant, various boundary conditions and three material length scale parameters on the behavior of nonlinear static, buckling and vibration of micro-composite beam are investigated. The results indicate that with an increase in the geometrical imperfection parameter, the stiffness of micro-composite beam increases and thus the non-dimensional nonlinear frequency of the micro structure reduces gradually.

Recently, the use of LLCL filters for grid inverters has been suggested to give better harmonic attenuation than the commonly used L and LCL filters, particularly around the switching frequency. Nevertheless, this filter is mainly designed for constant switching frequency pulse width modulation (CSF PWM) methods. In variable switching frequency PWM (VSF PWM), the harmonic components are distributed across a wide frequency band which complicates the use of a high order filter, including LCL and LLCL filters. Recently, a confined band variable switching frequency (CB-VSF) PWM method has been proposed and demonstrated to be superior to the conventional constant switching frequency (CSF) PWM in terms of switching losses. However, the applicability of LLCL filters for this type of CB-VSF PWM has not been discussed. In this paper, the authors study the suitability of an LLCL filter for CB-VSF PWM and propose design guidelines for the filter parameters. Using simulation and experimental results, it is demonstrated that the effectiveness of an LLCL filter with CB-VSF PWM depends on the parameters of the filters as well as the designed variable frequency band of the PWM. Simulation results confirm the performance of the suggested LLCL design, which is further validated using a lab scale prototype.
A successful blade design must satisfy some criterions which might be in conflict with maximizing annual energy yield for a specified wind speed distribution. These criterions include maximizing power output, more resistance to fatigue loads, reduction of tip deflection, avoid resonance and minimize weight and cost. These criterions can be satisfied by modifying the geometrical parameters of the blade. This study is dedicated to the aerodynamic assessment of a 20 kW horizontal axis wind turbine operating with two possible airfoils; that is $G{\ddot{o}}ttingen$ 413 and NACA 2415 airfoils (the Gottingen airfoil never been used in wind turbines). For this study parameters such as chord (constant, tapered and elliptic), twist angle (constant and linear) are varied and applied to the two airfoils independently in order to determine the most adequate blade configuration that produce the highest annual energy output. A home built numerical code based on the Blade Element Momentum (BEM) method with both Prandtl tip loss correction and Glauert correction, X-Foil and Weibull distribution is developed in Matlab and validated against available numerical and experimental data. The results of the assessment showed that the NACA 2415 airfoil section with elliptic chord and constant twist angle distributions produced the highest annual energy production.
Experimental investigations on gamma - rays attenuation parameters and dielectric spectroscopic properties were done on a polymeric mixture with chemical composition (100-x) polyethylene + x basalt, where x = 0, 1, 3, 5, 10, and 20 wt%. Using the melting blending technique, six nanocomposite polymeric samples were prepared. The linear attenuation coefficient µ of each prepared set of samples was measured using a gamma-ray spectrometer including High Purity Germanium detector (HPGe) at energies 662.5, 1173.24, and 1332.51 keV. Based on the measured values of (µ) and sample density, the other effective shielding parameters were calculated. The values of µ showed an increase with increasing the dopant ratios from 0.0 up to 20.0 wt%. In addition, the µ values decreased with the photon's energy. The µ values were found 0.0847 up to 0.1175 cm-1, 0.0571 up to 0.0855 cm-1, and 0.0543 up to 0.075 cm-1 at 662.5, 1173.24, and 1332.51 keV. for B0 up to B20, respectively. The ATR spectroscopy was done on the prepared samples, and a good evidence of adding the filler to the pure polyethylene (HDPE) was obtained. Besides, an enhancement in dielectric constant by insertion of basalt NPs also recorded and can be attributed to the large dielectric constant of basalt compared to pure HDPE.
