A Study on Safety Cos Estimation Using Process Risk Assessment for Polyol Process (polyol공정에 대한 위험성 평가에 의한 안저비용 산정에 관한 연구)

  • A research on accident loss calculation for polyol process without safety management activities, and safety cost estimation using process risk assessment has been implemented. In order to estimate a magnitude of loss, accident scenarios were made by combining result made from HAZOP Study method with accident possibility analysis results implemented with FTA. Also effect assessment was implement for accident consequence of each scenario. And minimum possible loss cost has been calculated when safety investment do or not. Result from cost-benefit analysis was shown as approximately \335 billion(=USS44,000 billion), as cost after subtracting safety management cost from minimum possible loss cost.

  • Customers' evaluation of Website with satisfaction is critical in electroniccommerce. Previous research has studied in a distinct approach; especially IT oriented constructs-perceived usefulness, easy of use and marketing oriented constructs-product, shopping experience, service quality. Despite those important previous studies regarding the usage and the purchase of goods and services, how consumers are satisfied and why consumers leave Web sites without purchasing have not been extensively researched. This study explored those determinants of consumer satisfaction with Web site using expectation-disconfirmation theory (EDT). The present paper extends the range of EDT from antecedents of expectation to consequence of satisfaction. The result suggests that experience and familiarity has an impact on expectation as well as perceived performance and satisfaction. Second, higher expectation makes a negative impact on disconfirmation of expectation. Third, positive disconfirmation of expectation makes a positive impact on satisfaction. Forth. satisfaction produces loyalty and repurchasing intention. Finally, loyal customer has stronger intention to repurchase than satisfied customer.

Importance of relationship quality and communication on foodservice for the elderly

  • In order to promote foodservice for the elderly, foodservice managers in Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) must identify the main factors to enhance the satisfaction and behavioral intentions with food service. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between relationship quality (consisting of trust, commitment, and satisfaction) and communication in the formation of elderly's behavioral intentions with food services at CCRCs. A survey was administered to residents in two CCRCs and a total of 327 residents participated. A tested structural equation model exhibited good model fit and explanatory power of the study construct. Satisfaction directly influenced word-of-mouth and service quality has an influence on commitment. Commitment was a significant determinant of behavioral intentions to eat more often in the dining room. Also, communication showed positive association with trust. The results provided strong evidence for the importance of satisfaction and communication as a consequence of relationship marketing efforts. Suggestions for future research to better understand the elderly' behavioral intention judgments were given.

Navigational Channel Capacity Models (항해수로 능력산정 모형 검토)

  • As a result of the lack of methodology for the determination of navigational channel capacity and the consequence lack of effective management of traffic, navigational channels are often grossly underutilized or highly congested. The traditional rule of first-come-first-served admission of vessels to channels is not efficient as it assumes equal time intervals between entrance of consecutive vessels. A new vessel traffic management system is developed in this research and methodologies to measure the improvement in the channel capacity are developed. Methodology to measure the channel performances for three queue disciplines are developed. The effects of changes in major factors on the channel capacity model such as channel length, fleet mix and arrival rate, as well as changes in strategy are analyzed. Under given channel conditions, best strategy are recommended. Also, a method for effective stochastic channel capacity simulation was developed. The results of analysis and as ertions are compared with the results of simulation runs to prove their applicability.

Asymptotic cell loss decreasing rate in an ATM multiplexer loaded with heterogeneous on-off sources

  • Recently, some research has been done to analyze the asymptotic behavior of queue length distribution in ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) multiplexer. In this paper, we relate this asymptotic behavior with the asymptotic behavior of decreasing cell loss probability when the buffer capacity is increased. We find with reasonable assumptions that the asymptotic rate of queue length distribution is the same as that of decreasing cell loss probability. Even under different priority control schemes and traffic classes, we find that this asymptotic rate of the individual cell loss probability of each traffic class does not change. As a consequence, we propose the upper bound of cell loss probability of each traffic class when a priority control scheme is employed. This bound is computationally feasible in a real-time. The numerical examples will be provided to validate this finding.

  • Purpose: This study suggests a method of risk assessment based on RAM analysis in order to reduce the subjectivity. Methods: RAM analysis is used to assessment risk consequence(RC) and risk likelihood(RL). Result: The calculated result of the product, which has higher risk assessment, shows lower MTBF system. Conclusion: Risk assessment based on objective database will provide objectivity and effective quality control.

  • 3D Modeling Solution can reduce projecting error and also make possible to design visually, so that it can minimize human resources. On the other hand, it has defects of operating difficulties caused by too much complex function, thus it consequently prevent user from prompt handling. According to this paper, the developed party S/W will help that user can construct the parts easily, can let everybody use 3D modeling solution readily, and make fast development of new product. This software will carry out prompt development of new product and derive satisfaction of customers from high quality. Also, saving time and expense naturally raise competitive power in consequence.

  • It can be said that nowadays, customers don't recognize that only good quality products as selection attribute regarding products quality can satisfy them. The case in service industries is also the same. Service quality is most affected by the criteria that customers themselves evaluate. Customers who are not satisfied with services provided institutions will disregard them. In consequence, this will affect their profitability. Collected questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS v.15 for the concrete proof analysis and the results are as follows. First, Service quality works as an important factors on customer's behavior. Second, Relationship quality serves as a mediated role between service quality and customer's behavior.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a strategic approach to improve firms competitive advantages by selecting main business body and business sector at the same time. In this study the strategy of an efficient business model for joint logistics is suggested by means of searching for a joint program. The methods applied to this study were literature survey, questionnaire and internet information as well as case studies on advanced domestics and foreign logistics enterprises. The research scope of this study has focused on the joint logistics of SMEs being in the DVD(Digital Video Disk) industry sector. The results of this study are shown as follows ; first, in short terms, main business operating body has, second, in long terms, logistics operating enterprise has a direct effect on the joint logistics operation strategy of the DVD(Digital Video Disk) industry in Korea. The conclusion of this study shows that this method as a model of consequence to increase the joint logistics implementation successfully.

Introduction of Geo-Mechatronics in Construction IT (정보화 시공분야에서의 Geo-mechatronics 기술의 전망)

  • For the purpose of automatic management and enhancing quality of construction, information technology has been employed in construction field recently. As a consequence, informative construction, which utilizes information technology to reduce construction time and optimize construction sequence, becomes a state-of-art field of construction. Considering this case, construction field should more actively adopt other engineering technologies of rapidly advancing fields, such as electronic, control, and informative engineering, in order to reduce construction cost and to solve environmental problems as well as to enhance construction quality. In this aspect, this paper introduces a novel research field 'Geo-mechatronics', which stands for the convergence of geotechnical engineering and mechatronics (i.e. automation of mechanics using electronic technologies). Since the ground is ubiquitous in every infrastructure construction, the Geo-mechatronics research is crucial for the development of construction technology in the future. Moreover, it is believed to that the Geo-mechatronics research will make our construction industry to be more future-oriented and internationally comparative industry.
