The world of ubiquitous computing is one in which we will be surrounded by an ever-richer set of networked devices and services. Especially, mobile phone now becomes one of the key issues in ubiquitous computing environments. Mobile phones have been infecting our normal lives more thoroughly, and are the fastest technology in human history that has been adapted to people. In Korea, the number of mobile phones registered to the telecom company, is more than the population of the country. Last year, the numbers of mobile phone sold are many times more than the number of personal computer sold. The new advanced technology of mobile phone is now becoming the most concern on every field of technologies. The mix of wireless communication technology (wifi) and mobile phone (smart phone) has made a new world of ubiquitous computing and people can always access to the network anywhere, in high speed, and easily. In such a world, people cannot expect to have available to us specific applications that allow them to accomplish every conceivable combination of information that they might wish. They are willing to have information they want at easy way, and fast way, compared to the world we had before, where we had to have a desktop, cable connection, limited application, and limited speed to achieve what they want. Instead, now people can believe that many of their interactions will be through highly generic tools that allow end-user discovery, configuration, interconnection, and control of the devices around them. Serendipity is an application of the architecture that will help people to solve a concern of achieving their information. The word 'serendipity', introduced to scientific fields in eighteenth century, is the meaning of making new discoveries by accidents and sagacity. By combining to the field of ubiquitous computing and smart phone, it will change the way of achieving the information. Serendipity may enable professional practitioners to function more effectively in the unpredictable, dynamic environment that informs the reality of information seeking. This paper designs the Serendipity Service based on NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. When users of NFC smart phone get information and services by touching the NFC tags, serendipity service will be core services which will give an unexpected but valuable finding. This paper proposes the architecture, scenario and the interface of serendipity service using tag touch data, serendipity cases, serendipity rule base and user profile.

The subsurface environment of the root zone area can set the stae for "do or die" of the turfgrass plant. The good condition of the greens is verified by their physical properties. Therefore, this study was carried to evaluate on the existing green of Hwasan C.C. by undisturbed soil Core Anaysis. We completed the ISTRC SYSTEM BenchMarking of the undisturbed core samples taken from Green #1, Green #5, Green #9-"Best" area, and Green #9-"Stressed" area for the Hwasan C.C.. It was also our understanding that the greens were in "good" to "very good" conditioni. THe exception might be Green #9-"Stress" area, which was the stressed area. The stressed area was confined to a ridge across Green #9. The organic content test results comfirmed the development of organic layering in depth 0-2.5cm. For the amount of compaction in the upper root zones and te development of the green's respective organic layers, the infiltration rates were high in Green #1, Green #5, and Green #9 "Stressed" area. The depicted aerificaton hole might be the probable cause of the relatively high infiltraton rate. Green #9-"Best" area had a tested infiltration rate of 18.75cm/hr. Either this area had not been aerified, or the undisturbed sample did not contain a aerification cavity. The water retention capacity of the undisturbed samples was good. When the greens were first constructed, the original root zone mix had been relatively low water retention properties. And the bulk density and the porosity of the undisturbed samples were good. In the result, all the greens were similar except for the infiltration. Thus, we supposed that Green #9-"Stressed" area might be ainly influenced by the amount of irrigation water and the configuration of the green's surface. There had been a reduction in the amount of irrigation water as the water retention capacity in the greens was promoted. Especially, it had gradually become more of a problem as the green had matured in Green #9-"Stressed" area. Because Green #9-"Stressed" area was a ridge area. The reduction in the amount of irrigation water might be the probable cause of the stress in Green #9-"Stressed" area. Our final observation related to the soil texture and the particle size distribution of the sand. Though and sand contant of all the tested greens were good, the gravel content of them exceeded ISTRC Guidelines. In particle size distribution of the sand, the very coarse and the coarse content of all the tested greens exceeded, but the rest was insufficient. The stability is a function of the material retained on the 0.25mm mesh screen. But, the content of all the tested greens was very insufficient. Though all the greens was serviceable, the coarse root zone sands, such as the sand in the tested greens, tended to be "unstable". Thus, we recommend using a topdressing/aerification sand which should be more in line with ISTRC/USGA Guidelines.;unstable". For the same configuration of two-dimensional finite element models, 6-node element exhibits stiffer bending stiffness than 8-node element. This is true in the relation between 16-node element and 20-node element for three-dimensional model. This stiffening phenomenon comes from the elimination of several mid nodes from full-node elements. Therefore, this may be called 'relative stiffness stiffening phenomenon'. It seems that there are a couple of ways to correct the stiffening effect, however, we could find only one effective method-the method of modification of Gauss sampling points-which passes the patch test and does not alter other kinds of stiffness, such as extensional stiffness. The quantity of modification is a function of Poisson's ratios of the constituent materials. We could obtain two modification equations, one for plane stress case and the other for plane strain case. This method can be extended to 3-dimensional solid elements. Except the exact plane strain cases, most 3-dimensional plates could be modeled successfully with 16-node element modified by the equation for the plane stress case. The effectiveness of the modification method is checked by applying it to several examples with excellent improvements. In numerical examples, beams with various boundary conditions are subjected to static and time-dependent loads. Free and forced motion analyses of beams and plates are also tested. The beam and plate may be composed of isotropic multilayers as well as a single layer.

In the field of the bioinformatics, it plays an important role in predicting functional information or structure information to search similar sequence in biological DB. Biolrgical sequences have been increased dramatically since Human Genome Project. At this point, because the searching speed for the similar sequence is highly regarded as the important factor for predicting function or structure, the SMP(Sysmmetric Multi-Processors) computer or cluster is being used in order to improve the performance of searching time. As the method to improve the searching time of BLAST(Basic Local Alighment Search Tool) being used for the similarity sequence search, We suggest the nBLAST algorithm performing on the cluster environment in this paper. As the nBLAST uses the MPI(Message Passing Interface), the parallel library without modifying the existing BLAST source code, to distribute the query to each node and make it performed in parallel, it is possible to easily make BLAST parallel without complicated procedures such as the configuration. In addition, with the experiment performing the nBLAST in the 28 nodes of LINUX cluster, the enhanced performance according to the increase in the number of the nodes has been confirmed.
Thanks to the development of IT technology, there have been developed a variety of types of portable music players. IT technology didn't stop there, however. It has gone to developing GUIs (Graphic User Interfaces) to deliver more information to the user. As the function of GUIs has become important, the music players are being required to show characteristics of the sounds they output visually beyond just delivering the sounds through analyzing the information that the sounds contain. To visualize the information of sounds, that is to say, has become substantial. In this process, sound graphic equalizers have been developed in order. The object of this study is to produce a new sound graphic equalizer with new forms of expressing visual images of sounds besides the bar graphs, in which user feedback is possible. This study has devised a new sound visualization form in visually expressing the information of sounds by analyzing their characteristics. This new sound visualization provides a sound graphic equalizer with which the user can select images for the information of the sounds s/he listens. This study suggests a new alternative GUI with which the user can change the form of the outputted images in realtime as communicating with the player.

This paper presents an algorithm to derive the representative unit hydrograph for the real environment of a watershed. For a given watershed, the conventional methods give several different unit hydrographs by storm events. In this study the LP model is somewhat modified based on the previous study by Mays et also as follows: the objective function is designed to minimize the sum of weighted residuals. An additional constraint of moving average is added to prevent the unit hydrograph from the occurence of oscillation which was not active in Mays's paper. Configuration of rainfall matrix was improved to reduce its dimension in accordance with Diskin's review point. In spite of the superiority of LP approach in terms of representativeness, all the methods were very sensitive to the validity of baseflow separation and rainfall-loss. Several methods of the separations for rainfall excesses and direct runoffs were applied and no preferred methods were identified. This is the matter of judgement considering catchment and rainfall characteristics. This algorithm was applied to a real watershed of the Wi stream in the Nak-dong river. Compared with the IHP results by conventional methods, this optimized representative unit hydrograph demonstrated relatively smaller and shorter values in terms of the peak discharge and the basin lag respectively, and the oscillation of its falling limb successfully eliminated owing to the additional constraints of moving averages.

In this study, decompositive optimization method of two levels was selected to optimize effectively the geometry of the truss which takes the multi-loading condition, and the allowable stress, bucking stress, displacement and natural frequency constraints into consideration. The algorithm of this study is made up of sectional optimization using the feasible direction method in level 1, and geometrical optimization employing Powell's one-direction search method which menimizes only objictive function in level 2. The results of this study acquired by beenning applied to structural model of the truss are as follows : 1. It is verified that the algorithm of this study effectively converges, independent of the initial geometry of the truss and the applied various constraints. 2. The optimum goemetry of the truss varies more considerably according to the constraints selected. 3. Under the condition of the same design, the weight of the truss can be decreased more considerably by means of optimizing even the geometry of truss than by means of optimizing the section of truss while fixing geometrical configuration of it, even though there might be a little difference according to the initial geometry of the truss and the design condition.

Ultrastructural characteristics were examined with leaves of three species, O. japonicus A. Berger, O. malacophyllus Fisch., and O. sikokianus Owhi that probably have CAM mode. The mesophyll cells of these Orostachys possessed vacuoles with precipitates, myelin-like figures, and plasmalemmasomes, along with typical chloroplasts, microbodies and darkly stained bodies in their thin peripheral cytoplasm. Separation of the plasmalemma from the cell wall, leaving a space between them, was a common phenomenon in these species. A complex array of small to large vacuoles which contain small, membrane-bounded vesicles or vacuole-like structures were frequently found. A well-developed thylakoid system was observed in the chloroplasts and this indicates that the photosynthetic capacity of these mesophyll cells is probably active. A peculiar configuration of cytoplasm, especially around the chloroplasts, was also encountered. The variety of cytoplasmic constituents and vacuoles suggest the water-storing mesophyll cells may be complex in function. Some cellular features detected in this study strongly suggest the possible occurrence of CAM mode in Orostachys species.

This paper is intended to develop a decision model that can be applied to autonomous vehicles and autonomous mobile vehicles. The developed module has an independent configuration for application in various driving environments and is based on a platform for organically operating them. Each module is studied for decision making on lane changes and for securing safety through reinforcement learning using a deep learning technique. The autonomous mobile moving body operating to change the driving state has a characteristic where the next operation of the mobile body can be determined only if the definition of the speed determination model (according to its functions) and the lane change decision are correctly preceded. Also, if all the moving bodies traveling on a general road are equipped with an autonomous driving function, it is difficult to consider the factors that may occur between each mobile unit from unexpected environmental changes. Considering these factors, we applied the decision model to the platform and studied the lane change decision system for implementation of the platform. We studied the decision model using a modular learning method to reduce system complexity, to reduce the learning time, and to consider model replacement.
Perfusion and ventilaion imagings of the lung are well established procedure for diagnosing pulmonary embolism, differentiation it from chronic obstructive lung disease, and making an early detection of chronic obstructive lung disease. To evaluate the usefulness of radioaerosol inhalation imaging (RII) in chronic obstructive lung disease, especially pulmonary emphysema, we analyzed RIIs of five normal adult non-smokers, five asymptomatic smokers (age 25-42 years with the mean 36), and 21 patients with pulmonry emphysema (age 59-78 years with the mean 67). Scintigrams were obtained with radioaerosol produced by a BARC nebulizer with 15 mCi of Tc-99m-phytate. Scanning was performed in the anterior, posterior, and lateral projections after five to 10-minute inhalation of the radioaerosol on sitting position. The scans were analyzed and correlated with the results of pulmonary function studies and chest radiographs. Also lung perfusion scan with $^{99m}Tc-MAA$ was performed in 12 patients. In five patients, we performed follow-up scans for the evaluation of the effects of a bronchodilator. Based on the X-ray findings and clinical symptoms, pulmonary emphysema was classified into four types: centrilobular (3 patients), panlobular (4 patients), intermediate (10 patients), and combined (4 patients). RII findings were patternized according to the type, extent, and intensity of the aerosol deposition in the central bronchial and bronchopulmonary system and lung parenchyma. 10 controls, normal five non-smokers and three asymptomatic smokers revealed homogeneous parenchymal deposition in the entire lung fields without central bronchial deposition. The remaining two of asymptomatic smokers revealed mild central airway deposition. The great majority of the patients showed either central (9/21) or combined type (10/21) of bronchopulmonary deposition and the remaining two patients peripheral bronchopulmonary deposition. Parenchymal aerosol deposition in pulmonary emphysema was diffuse (6/21), discrete(6/21), intermediate (3/21), or combined (6/21). In 12 patients studied also with perfusion scans, perfusion defects matched closely with ventilation defects in location and configuration. But the size of the ventilation defects was generally larger than the perfusion defects. In all four patients treated with bronchodilators, the follow-up study demonstrated decrease in abnormal of radioaerosol deposition in the central airway with improvement of ventilation defects. RII was useful technique for the evaluation of regional ventilatory abnormality and the effects of treatment with bronchodilators in pulmonary emphysema.
