Hospitals accomodate patients who have a high risk of infection due to reduced immunity as well as people who require surgical, medical or other treatments. Consequently, the role of clinical nurses, who come into close contact with these patients is very important in the control of nosocomial infection. This study was done to investigate and compare the level of perception of the importance of the control of nosocomial infections as well as the level of actual performance, and the level of satisfaction with the control of nosocomial infection by the clinical nurses. Thus, the purpose of this study is to contribute basic data for improving policies and educational programs to control nosocomial infection. A summary of the survey results is as follows. 1) The means of scores on all categories of the inquiry were 4. 51 for awareness 4.42 for actual performance, and 3.20 for satisfaction, of a possible high score of 5.00. 2) Correlations of the level of perception of importance between characteristics of nurses and hospital control of nosocomial infection differed significantly according to the type of hospital establishment type (p=.005), age(p=.000), career(p=.000), position (p=.002), and regular conferences on infection control in working departments(p=.003), Correlation of the level of actual performance between characteristics of nurses and hospital control of nosocomial infection diffesed significantly according to type of hospital(p=.000), hospital size (p=.009), working department(p=.000), age(p=.000), career (p=.000), school career(p=.040), position (p=.000), education experience on nosocomial infection(p=.020), and regular conferences on infection control in working department(p=.000). Correlation of degree of satisfaction between characteristics of nurses and hospital control of nosocomial infection also differed significantly according to the type of hospital establishment (p=.003), working department(p=.000), age (p=.000), and regular conferences on infection control in working department (p=.000). 3) Correlation between clinical nurses, level of perception of importance and actual level of performance for the control of nosocomial infection was relatively positive (r=.57, p=.000). Correlation between clinical nurses degree of satisfaction and level of actual performance for control of nosocomial infection was relatively positive (r=.47, p=.000). Correlation between clinical nurses, level of perception of importance and degree of satisfaction degree with the control of nosocomial infection was also relatively positive (r=.27, p=.000).

본 논문에서는 국제학술대회 참가자를 위한 개인화 된 정보추천서비스를 제안한다. 국제학술대회에서는 많은 논문들이 동시에 여러 세션으로 구성되어 발표되고 여러 연구관련 활동들이(예를 들어, 튜토리얼, 산업계토론, 공동연구논의 등) 짧은 기간 동안 이루어지므로 발표되는 논문들을 일일이 확인하고 그 발표에 참여하기가 쉽지 않다. 또한 학술대회의 정보 추천은, 기존의 영화, 책, 음악 등의 상품추천과 달리, 이미 정해진 해당 연구관련 커뮤니티가 대회 참가자들 및 발표자들을 중심으로 구성되어 있으므로 보다 명확한 소셜네트워크 기반추천 서비스가 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 각 학술대회에서 발표되는 논문들의 내용은 무엇인지, 참가자들이 어떤 논문에 관심을 가지는지, 그리고 각 참가자들이 다른 참가자들과의 맺은 소셜네트워크 등의 정보를 통해 발표에 참여할 만한 논문들을 추천하였다. 특히, 실제 운용되고 있는 국제학술대회 정보시스템, Conference Navigator를 이용하여, 여러 학술논문 관련 추천서비스를 비교 실험하였다. 기존의 Collaborative filtering 추천 알고리듬뿐만 아니라 학술대회참가자들의 소셜네트워크 기반 추천 서비스를 제공하였으며 연구결과 Cold-start 사용자들에게 특히 소셜네트워크 기반추천이 가장 좋은 결과를 보여주었다.

Korean dental association (KDA) intensively drives no smoking activities for a healthy life of Korean people. In this article, hazardous facts of smoking in oral system are reviewed from the point of view of dental science. Various activities against smoking including campaigns, conferences, polls, exhibitions and publications driven by KDA are introduced.

It is generally said that falling intonation is used at the end of a declarative sentence. However, this is not the case with all stretches of spontaneous speech which are marked in transcription as sentences. The present paper examines intonation patterns appearing at the end of declarative sentences in oral presentations, and discusses instances where falling intonation does not appear. The texts used for analysis are eight oral presentations collected at international conferences in the field of physics. Quantitative and qualitative analyses are carried out. Three major factors related to discourse structure have been found for non-occurrence of falling intonation at sentence boundaries.

For communication between heterogeneous conference systems, it is important to build a conference control protocol independent from signaling protocols. We simulate an XML-based conference control that is under consideration as a standard mechanism. We describe the framework and operations for easy implementation in heterogeneous conference systems. The simulation results show that the proposed control protocol provides a consistent service for an increasing number of conferences and participants in small to mid-size centralized conferencing.

Recently keeping pace with globalization, many international conferences and athletic games are being held in Korea. After 911 terror in New York in 2001, Korean government dispatched Zaytun Division in Iraq and this fact has also led to voice concerns that Korea should be prepared to protect from biological terrors as soon as possible. It is important to develop the bioterrorism emergency medical training for public health students including paramedic in Korea. So I propose the development of bioterrorism education curriculum.

For the equitable and objective evaluation of the performances of R & D (Research and Development) Projects, the quantitative evaluation of research products was performed. In this research, the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) technique was used to calculate the relative importance(weight) of research products such as patents, thesis, conferences and man-power with make up individual questions. With calculated relative weight of research products, the model that gives the quantitative grades of research products was studied.

Norwegian technology related to preinvestigations, planning, design and construction of large underground caverns is wellknown worldwide. However, so far this technology is only slightly verified through scientiffic reports and documentation. The "Rock cavern stadium" research program is an interdisciplinary program related to the ongoing building and future use of Gjovik Olympic Subsite which is the largest cavern in the world for public purposes with a span of 61 meters and a height of 25 meters. The estimated budget for this program is about USD 4 million which is made possible through grants from The Royal Norwegian Council for Scientific and Industrial Research as well as through contributions from Norwegian and Swedish companies that are participating. The program is carried out in collaboration with The Foundation for Scientific and Industrial Research at the Norwegian Institute of Technology. The Norwegian Geotechnical Institute and The Eastern Norway Research Center. The research program will continue until the end of 1994 to ensure that input comes from a full period of use in this stadium with different activities like exhibitions, conferences, concerts etc being included as verification through full-scale measurements and observations. The research program has five subtasks. Three of these are related to subjects like Energy consumption. HVAC installations. Fire safety design, Engineering geology and Rock mechanics, Environmental aspects. The fourth subtask is concerned with the collection of basic data, results and experience from these three subtasks to provide a basis for national Norwegian guidelines related to this interdisciplinary subject area. The guidelines will first be presented as a manual for planning and engineering purposes. The realization of this research program is a unique opportunity to enhance the expertise that has been acquired from this cavern stadium. By involving research in this extraordinary project from the excavation and building phase to its subsequent use. this will give the participants know-how and expertise which is very much in demand internationally. The coordination of the international activities between the participants as well as preparation of participations and presentations in international conferences and symposium are included in the fifth task of this national research program.

최근 표준화가 정보통신분야에서 전략적 도구로 인식됨에 따라 수 많은 관련 회의 및 세미나가 개최되고 있다. 그러나 시간 및 공간상의 제약과 관련 일정정보의 부재로 인해 현실적으로 원하는 모든 곳에 참여하지 못한다. 또한 실제 참석한 후에, 해당 세미나에 대한 체계적인 정리를 원하더라도 직접 세미나를 주재한 사람이나 관련기관을 만나지 못하면 현실적으로 불가능하며, 대규모 세미나의 경우 타 분야에서 진행된 관심분야에 참석할 수 없다는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 웹 상에서 시간과 장소에 투명한 표준화관련 세미나를 동영상으로 제공하고, 이와 관련된 자료를 제공할 수 있는 가상 세미나 서비스를 구현하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 웹 기반의 가상 세미나 서비스를 구현을 위해 필요한 관련 기반 기술들을 제시하고, 기본 설계 및 구현결과를 제시한다.
