Polyurethane(PU) was mixtured by the treatment with flame retardants such as Tri(chloroisopropyl) phosphate(TCPP), Triethyl phosphate(TEP) and Trimethyl phosphate(TMP) at about $90^{\circ}C$. Rigid polyurethane foam was produced using the mixured products as flame retardants. The mechanical property and flammability of rigid polyurethane was investigated. The mixtured polyurethane shows reduced flammability over virgin polyurethane. Mechanical strength of mixtured polyurethane also shows as high as that of virgin polyurethane. In order to evaluate flame retardant properties of the mixtured polyurethane foams, heat release rate(HRR) of the foam was measured by cone calorimeter. Scanning electron micrograph of mixtured PU shows uniform cell morphology as virgin PU.
The adult brown planthopper possesses tow oval shaped compound eyes which, on their ventral borders, curve around the base of the antennae. Compound eye of the adult brown planthopper is recognised apposition eye which each ommatidium is optically isolated from it surroundings, the rhabdoms receiving light only from their own corneal lens. Each ommatidium possesses its own dioptric apparatus formed from the cuticular cornea and an underlying crystalline cone. The retinula cells lying immediately beneath the crystalline cone have their individual rhabdomeres tightly opposed to form one central, closed rhbdom. The rhabdom stretches from the spex of the crystalline cone nearly to the basement membrane and is approximately 110~120 $\mu\textrm{m}$ in length. The crystalline cone is surrounded by a pair of primary pigment cells an these in turn are surrounded by accessory pigment cells. Accessory pigment cells extend beyond the crystalline cone surrounding the retinular cells in the distal region of the eye. The crystalline cone is surrounded by the distal-most regions of the retinula cells show the presence of seven cells and sections taken proximally in the last quarter of the omatidium before the basement membrane is reached, reveal the presence of a small, eighth retinula cell which also contributes to the central rhabdom. Each ommatidium has a central rhabdom formed from the modified inner border of all of the retinula cells. Th rhabdom consists of micrvilli arising from the inner wall of each retinula cell. In cross section th microvilli exhibit a characteristic honeycomb appearance. Pigment cells comprise the primary pigment cells enveloping the crystalline cone, the accessory pigment cells extending from the inner surface of the comea to the basement membrane and the small pigment cells of the basement membrane.

Goldfish retina has been well studied to a great extent. In spite of that, electrical characteristics of dissociated horizontal cells(HCs) have not been identified in detail. Thus the cone-and the rod- HCs dissociated from goldfish retina were investigated electrophysiologically using whole-cell patch-clamping recording. To explore the basic electrical property, We examined voltage-dependent channels in all types of HCs. For the futher understanding of GABAergic pathway, the localization and distribution of GABA receptors was examined in cone- HCs including HC axon terminals(ATs).
The increased use of cone-beam computed tomographic (CBCT) scans has made it increasingly necessary to evaluate incidental findings on CBCT scans. This report describes the case of a 66-year-old female patient who presented to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, Radiology and Medicine at the College of Dentistry of the author's institution and underwent a CBCT scan for maxillary alveolar process implant planning. Upon evaluation of the CBCT scan, a radiopaque (soft tissue attenuation) mass in the left superior aspect of the nasal cavity and left locule of the sphenoid sinus with opacification of the left locule of the sphenoid sinus was incidentally noted. These radiographic findings were suggestive of a space-occupying mass with a high possibility of malignancy. A further medical evaluation confirmed renal cell cancer metastasis to the sphenoid sinus. This study shows the significance of reviewing the entire CBCT scan for incidental findings.
In this paper, evaluation method of structural integrity for cone-type composite lattice structures with hexagonal cell was conducted. A finite element analysis was used to evaluate the structural integrity of cone-type composite lattice structure. The finite element model for evaluation of structural integrity was generated using solid element. In order to consider the difference in mechanical properties between intersection and non-intersection part, the mechanical properties were applied considering the fiber volume fraction of each part. Compression test of cone-type composite lattice structure were conducted for verification of evaluation method of structural integrity. The analysis result showed 2% errors in displacement and good agreement with test result.
A cyclone is an effective tool to facilitate the collection of aerosol particles without using filters, and in cell exposure studies is able to collect a sufficient amount of aerosol particles to evaluate their adverse health effect. In this study, we examined two different methods to improve the aerosol particle collection efficiency of a cyclone. The individual and combined effects of reducing the surface roughness of the inner wall of the cyclone and of using a circular cone attachment were tested. The collection efficiency of particles of diameter $0.2{\mu}m$ was improved by approximately 10% when using a cyclone with a smoothened inner wall (average roughness $Ra=0.08{\mu}m$) compared with the original cyclone ($Ra=5.1{\mu}m$). A circular cone attachment placed between the bottom section of the cyclone and the top section of a collection bottle, resulted in improved collection of smaller particles without the attachment. The 50% cutoff diameter of the modified cyclone (combined use of smoothened inner wall and attachment) was $0.23{\mu}m$ compared to $0.28{\mu}m$ in the original model. The combined use of these two techniques resulted in improved collection efficiency of aerosol particles.
Ghost cell odontogenic carcinoma (GCOC) is a rare malignant neoplasm characterized by the presence of ghost cells. It is considered to originate from either a calcifying odontogenic cyst(COC) or a dentinogenic ghost cell tumor(DGCT). Its clinical and radiographic characteristics are non-specific, including slow growth, locally aggressive behavior, and eventual metastasis. This case report describes a 43-year-old Thai man with plain radiographs and cone-beam computed tomographic images revealing a unilocular radiolucency with non-corticated borders surrounding an impacted left canine associated with radiopaque foci around the cusp tip. Based on the microscopic findings, the lesion was diagnosed as GCOC. Partial maxillectomy of the right maxilla was performed, and radiotherapy was administered. An obturator was made to support masticatory functions Three years later, the lesion showed complete bone remodeling and no signs of recurrence, and long-term follow-up was done regularly.

The smaller diameter cone penetrometer has been widely used to estimate the characteristics of local area due to high vertical resolution. The half-bridge cirucits have been adopted to measure the mechnical strength of soil through the smaller diameter cone penetrometer due to the limitation of the areas for configuring the full-bridge circuit. The half-bridge circuit, however, is known as being easily affected to the temperature variation. The objective of this study suggests the temperature-compensated method in mini-cones. The diameter and length of the mini-cone is designed to 15mm and 56mm. The load cell of the mini-cone is extended about 54mm on the behind of the mini-cone to reflect the only temperature variation. The full-bridge circuit is installed to measure the temperature-compensated values in the mini-cone and the half-bridge circuit is also organized to compare the temperature compensated values with uncompensated values. The seasonal variation tests are performed to define the effect of temperature variation under summer and winter temperature condition. The densification tests are also carried out to investigate temperature effects during penetration. The measured mechanical resistances with temperature-compensated method show more reliable and reasonable values than those measured by thermal uncompensated system. This study suggests that the temperature-compensated method of the mini-cone may be a useful technique to obtain the more reliable resistances with minimizing the temperature effect.
Purpose: Accurate monitoring of soil strength is a key technology applicable to various precision agricultural practices. Soil strength has been traditionally measured using a cone penetrometer, which is time-consuming and expensive, making it difficult to obtain the spatial data required for precision agriculture. To improve the current, inefficient method of measuring soil strength, our objective was to develop and evaluate an in-situ system that could measure horizontal soil strength in real-time, while moving across a soil bin. Methods: Multiple cone-shape penetrometers were horizontally assembled at the front of a vertical plow blade at intervals of 5 cm. Each penetrometer was directly connected to a load cell, which measured loads of 0-2.54 kN. In order to process the digital signals from every individual transducer concurrently, a microcontroller was embedded into the measurement system. Wireless data communication was used between a data storage device and this real-time horizontal soil strength (RHSS) measurement system travelling at 0.5 m/s through an indoor experimental soil bin. The horizontal soil strength index (HSSI) measured by the developed system was compared with the cone index (CI) measured by a traditional cone penetrometer. Results: The coefficient of determination between the CI and the HSSI at depths of 5 cm and 10 cm ($r^2=0.67$ and 0.88, respectively) were relatively less than those measured below 20 cm ($r^2{\geq}0.93$). Additionally, the measured HSSIs were typically greater than the CIs for a given numbers of compactor operations. For an all-depth regression, the coefficient of determination was 0.94, with a RMSE of 0.23. Conclusions: A HSSI measurement system was evaluated in comparison with the conventional soil strength measurement system, CI. Further study is needed, in the form of field tests, on this real-time measurement and control system, which would be applied to precision agriculture.
Electrical resistivity is applied for understanding details about layers and obtaining basic properties of soils to various measurement devices. The objective of this study is development of TRP(Temperature-compensated Resistivity Probe), analysis about effects of temperature changes during cone penetration test, and observation of characteristics of cone penetration. In order to observation of temperature changes according to a diameter difference of resistivity cone probe, the cone which has wedge type cone tip is made to two types, 2mm and 5mm. Temperature sensor is attached at 15mm below from cone tip because of an electrical interference with elecrical resistance probe. Delectrical connector is used to prevent electric disturbance between motor type penetrating machine and electrical resistivity cone probe. Application tests are carried out in acrylic cell whose diameter is 30cm with uniform Jumunjin sand according to densification caused by blows. The test results indicate that the temperature is increased uniformly during penetration and a tendency, characteristics of cone penetration, is discovered during altering state of soils. This study suggests that the temperature effects and characteristics of penetration should be considered in penetrating tests in order to conduct an accurate ground investigation using TRP(Temperature-compensated Resistivity Probe).
