Trouble prevention of facilities in operation process plays an important role for improving facilities productivity as production systemization is installed with development of facilities automatization. Condition monitoring predicts machine's internal changes by periodically recording vibration occurred in the machine. This article considers a method of establishing statistical criteria for facilities troubles by utilizing machine condition evaluation and operation limit standards of ISO 10816-3.

The incidence of fire in underground utility tunnel is lower than other fires, but the damage caused by fire can cause social loss due to social management paralysis as well as economic loss. Hereupon, this paper presents the results of an empirical test on the construction of the underground utility tunnel condition monitoring system using the leakage coaxial cable installed in the underground utility tunnel. For this reason, a verification test was conducted by connecting a inductive coupler 200 Mbps power line communication modem with insertion loss characteristics of $-6{\pm}2dB$ to the installed the leakage coaxial cable installed in the underground utility tunnel. As a result, We confirmed sending/receiving of IP cameras up to 500 m. Therefore, it is judged that it is possible to construct a condition monitoring system for underground utility tunnel by using the leakage coaxial cables installed in the underground utility tunnels without installing additional communication lines for data transmission.
This study presents the development of dielectric constant sensors to measure lubricant properties. The lubricant oil sensor is used to measure oil properties and machine conditions. Various condition monitoring methods are applied to diagnose machine conditions. Machine condition monitoring using oil sensors has advantage over other machine condition monitoring methods. The fault conditions can be noticed at the early stages by the detection of wear particles using oil sensors. Therefore, it provides an early warning in the failure procedure. A variety of oil sensors are applied to check the machine condition. Among all oil sensors, only one sensor can measure the tendency of several properties such as acidity and water content. A dielectric constant sensor is also used to measure various oil properties; therefore, it is very useful. The dielectric constant is the ratio of the capacitance of a capacitor using that material as a dielectric to that of a similar capacitor using vacuum as its dielectric. The dielectric constant has an effect on water content, contaminants, base oil, additive, and so forth. In this study, the dielectric constant sensor is fabricated using MEMS process. In the fabrication process, the shape, gap of the electrode array, and thickness of the insulation material are considered to improve the sensitivity of the sensor.
Recently, on-line diagnosis methods through wired and wireless networks are widely adopted in the diagnosis of industrial Electric Facilities, such as generators, transformers and motors. Also smart sensors which includes sensors, signal conditioning circuits and micro-controller in one board are widely studied in the field of condition monitoring. This paper suggests an self-powered system suitable for condition-monitoring smart sensors, which uses parasitic vibrations of the facilities as energy source. First, vibration-driven noise patterns of the electric facilities are presented. And then, an electromagnetic generator which uses mechanical mass-spring vibration resonance are suggested and designed. Finally energy consumption of the presented smart sensor, which consists of MEMS vibration sensors, signal conditioning circuits, a low-power consumption micro-controller, and a ZIGBEE wireless tranceiver, are presented. The usefulness and limits of the presented electromagnetic generators in the field of electric facility monitoring are also suggested.

As real-time media applications based on IP multicast networks spread widely, the end-to-end QoS (quality of service) provisioning for these applications have become very important. To guarantee the end-to-end QoS of multi-party media applications, it is essential to monitor the time-varying status of both network metrics (i.e., delay, jitter and loss) and system metrics (i.e., CPU and memory utilization). In this paper, targeting the multicast-enabled AG (Access Grid) group collaboration tool based on multi-Party real-time media services, a hybrid monitoring scheme that can monitor the status of both multicast network and node system is investigated. It combines active monitoring and passive monitoring approaches to measure multicast network. The active monitoring measures network-layer metrics (i.e., network condition) with probe packets while the passive monitoring checks application-layer metrics (i.e., user traffic condition by analyzing RTCP packets). In addition, it measures node system metrics from system API. By comparing these hybrid results, we attempt to pinpoint the causes of performance degradation and explore corresponding reactions to improve the end-to-end performance. The experimental results show that the proposed hybrid monitoring can provide useful information to coordinate the performance improvement of multi-party real-time media applications.
The multi-task operating system called HRMTOS (HUNDAI Robot Multi-task Operating System) was developed for concurrent execution. HRMTOS consists of condition interpreter, queue constructor, task scheduler. Condition interpreter checks the status and condition of request, queue constructor makes queue according to the checked result by condition interpreter, and task scheduler finds the task that will be urgently executed by priority of queue after pending the current excuting task. HRMTOS could execute teaching, playback, monitoring function of multi-robot and could be used more effectively than other robot controllers.
In recent years, multifractal-based analysis methods have been widely applied in engineering. Among these methods, multifractal detrended cross-correlation analysis (MFDXA), a branch of fractal analysis, has been successfully applied in the fields of finance and biomedicine. For its great potential in reflecting the subtle characteristic among signals, a structural health monitoring (SHM) system based on MFDXA is proposed. In this system, damage assessment is conducted by exploiting the concept of multifractal theory to quantify the complexity of the vibration signal measured from a structure. According to the proposed algorithm, the damage condition is first distinguished by multifractal detrended fluctuation analysis. Subsequently, the relationship between the q-order, q-order detrended covariance, and length of segment is further explored. The dissimilarity between damaged and undamaged cases is visualized on contour diagrams, and the damage location can thus be detected using signals measured from different floors. Moreover, a damage index is proposed to efficiently enhance the SHM process. A seven-story benchmark structure, located at the National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE), was employed for an experimental verification to demonstrate the performance of the proposed SHM algorithm. According to the results, the damage condition and orientation could be correctly identified using the MFDXA algorithm and the proposed damage index. Since only the ambient vibration signal is required along with a set of initial reference measurements, the proposed SHM system can provide a lower cost, efficient, and reliable monitoring process.

In this paper, in order to reduce the electric disaster damage which is caused by with electric equipment of traditional markets, we developed cabinet panel and the electric safety monitoring system which is able to monitor the electrical equipments condition(over current, leakage, arc, WH, electrical fire factor etc.) at traditional markets. We constructed Test-bed for testing reliability of electric safety monitoring system and the actual condition investigation about electrical equipment of traditional market. This paper will be used with the data for an actual demonstration project after reinforcing problems which are occurred to operation of traditional market actual loads.

Wind energy has proven its viability by the emergence of countless wind turbines around the world which greatly contribute to the increased electrical generating capacity of wind farm operators. These infrastructures are usually deployed in not easily accessible areas; therefore, maintenance routines should be based on a well-guided decision so as to minimize cost. To aid operators prior to the maintenance process, a condition monitoring system should be able to accurately reflect the actual state of the wind turbine and its major components in order to execute specific preventive measures using as little resources as possible. In this paper, we propose a fault detection approach which combines cluster analysis and frequent pattern mining to accurately reflect the deteriorating condition of a wind turbine and to indicate the components that need attention. Using SCADA data, we extracted operational status patterns and developed a rule repository for monitoring wind turbine systems. Results show that the proposed scheme is able to detect the deteriorating condition of a wind turbine as well as to explicitly identify faulty components.
