TQM과 체험적 훈련 (Experiential Training in TQM)

  • Most authorities of the Total Quality Management.(TQM) movement emphasize learning and training as an integral part of TQM, and it is well accepted in practice. However, despite this strong normative emphasis on its role, learning and training has not been systematically addressed in the TQM literature for its contents and a, pp.oaches. I first review the concept of TQM, its principles and implementation process to indentify the needs for learning and training, and the nature of experiential learning and training. I then discuss the necessity and effectiveness of experiential learning and training in TQM.

Is a General Quality Model of Software Possible: Playability versus Usability?

  • This paper is very exploratory and addresses the issue 'Is a general quality model of software possible?'. If possible, how specific can/should it be?' ISO 25000 Series SQuaRE is generally regarded as a general quality model which can be applied to most kinds of software. Usability is one of the 8 characteristics of SQuaRE's Product Quality Model. It is the main issue associated with SQuaRE's Quality in Use Model too. it is the most important concept associated software quality since using is the only ultimate goal of software products. Playability, however, is generally regarded as a special type of usability, which can be applied to game software. This common idea contradicts with the idea that SQuaRE is valid for most kinds, at least many kinds, of software. The empirical evidences of this paper show that SQuaRE is too specific to be a general quality model of software.

웹 서비스 품질보장을 위한 보증수준 유지방안 연구 (A Research on Managing Assurance Level for Guaranteeing Quality of Web Services)

  • 웹 서비스의 활용 범위가 커지고 실제적인 구현사례가 늘어감에 따라, 웹 서비스 품질모델을 현실적으로 적용할 수 있는 방법에 대한 중요성이 커지고 있다. 웹 서비스 품질을 일관성있게 유지하기 위해서는 웹 서비스 품질보증에 대한 방안이 연구되어야만 한다. 웹 서비스 보증이란 웹 서비스의 품질수준을 일정수준이상으로 유지하기 위한 행위들의 총체를 의미하며, 이를 위해 웹 서비스 품질보증자란 새로운 개념의 관계자가 국제기구에서 웹 서비스 표준으로 새롭게 제시되었다. 웹 서비스 품질보증자는 웹 서비스 사용자들의 품질요구사항을 수렴하여, 웹 서비스 제공자가 일정 품질수준이상의 웹 서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 감시한다. 웹 서비스 제공자와 사용자 그리고, 품질보증자는 웹 서비스 수준을 관리하기 위해 서비스 수준을 측정하여 그 결과에 따라 페널티와 인센티브를 부여하는 SLA(Service Level Agreement) 방식을 적용할 수 있다. 하지만, SLA에서는 서비스 사용자와 제공자가 같은 서비스 항목에 대해 일대일로 대응한다는 전제를 가지고 있어서, 다수사용자와 공공성, 그리고 제3자 관리와 같은 웹 서비스 프레임워크에는 적합하지 않은 점들이 존재한다. 따라서, 웹 서비스에 SLA를 적용하기 위해서는 웹 서비스의 이러한 특성들을 반영한 새로운 보증기법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 품질 기대수준을 표현하기 위해 웹 서비스 품질 위탁보증수준이라는 새로운 개념을 제시하고자 한다. 이는 각 사용자의 각 품질항목별 품질기대수준의 최대치라 할 수 있으며, 웹 서비스 품질관계자에게 일관성있는 품질 뷰를 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 이를 이용해 각 품질관계자가 보다 쉽게 일정 수준이상의 품질수준을 유지할 수 있는 방안에 대해 제시하고자 한다.

East Meets West: A Critical Analysis on The Evolution, Growth and Transfer of QFD from Japan to The West

  • This paper describes the origins, evolution of Quality Function Deployment and its transfer to the West. Following a comprehensive review of the literature and how QFD has been defined, and applied, the paper analyses the critical factors which impinge on QFD implementation success. A discussion which covers the enabling criteria found to be inherent in Japanese applications is contrasted with the Western approaches documented hitherto. In particular the Company Wide Quality Control (CWQC) approach in Japan versus the emerging concept of Total Quality Management and their impact on QFD implementation. A critical analysis of the main differences isolated from the review of the literature and which characterise the Japanese method of QFD implementation which is leading, and The Western approaches which appear to be lagging is included in the paper, together with some useful conclusions:

  • Recently, information technology and information system(IS) are rapidly diffused throughout the world. In the global competitive environment, the success of IS becomes the important one among the critical success factors(CSF) of the firm. For achieving it, the firm must continually involve itself in the quality evaluation and improvement of IS. The quality concept was changed into the customer-oriented quality one. There is no exception to the quality of IS. In the past, IS quality was determined by the IS developer or IS department offering service. Now it is evaluated by the user of IS service, and then the customer-oriented user satisfaction becomes an important issue. The purpose of this study is to develope the total quality evaluation model of IS through TQM approach. First, all success factors of the domestic IS are extracted from the foreign and domestic literatures of IS success factors contained the technical and behavioral aspects. And the extracted factors are classified with evaluation levels for quality evaluation and developed into a total quality evaluation model. Finally the model usefulness is analyzed.

  • As the significance of quality in the sense of customer satisfaction is growing, the management of quality becomes one of the main interests in the manufacturing systems research systems research. This paper presents the concept of quality-oriented manufacturing system which is composed of a business process domain and a quality domain. In the business process domain, business functions are integrated by traditional design and manufacturing databases on the one hand, and a quality management system is interlinked to them via several quality modules on the other hand. Quality information model connects the business process dimain with the qualitydomain where various types of qualitydata are stored in the form of quality database. 서식지 적합성 평가를 통한 국립공원 탐방로 관리 방안 연구 - 무등산 국립공원 내 담비 서식지를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Trail Mangement in National Park Using Habitat Suitability Assessment: A Case Study of Yellow-throated Marten Habitats in Mt. Mudeung National Park)

  • This study carried out for establishing the synthetic restoration plan to improve ecological quality of Mt. Mudeung National Park based on the results of conservation value assessment for yellow-throated marten habitats. Yellow-throated marten has significant implications as umbrella species for the wildlife habitats conservation, therefore, this species could be used to ecological restoration plan of the damaged forest ecosystem in Mt. Mudeung National Park. In this study, we diagnosed the quality of yellow-throated marten habitats in Mt. Mudeung National Park based on five natural and two artificial factors. In addition, we evaluated the integrity of each zone divided by trails quantitatively based on land use intensity. As a result, forest landscape quality in Mt. Mudeung National Park was influenced greatly by human activity and the degree was depended on the intensity of trails. Therefore, in this study, we suggested the closing of trails composed of the illegal and 36 legal trails. And then, we modeled the changes of habitats quality of Yellow-throated marten for each closing step. As a result the area of core habitats increased by two times and wildlife habitats quality improved in the whole area of the Mt. Mudeung National Park. As a result, the results of this study indicate that man-made linear landscape elements play a key role in the quality of habitats for predators, which require large habitats area like the Yellow-throated marten. Therefore, in order to establish an ecological restoration plan in the mountainous area, we recommend the concept of the linear landscape should be applied with the concept of area landscape.

연구개발에서 품질의 적용가능성 및 관련 방법론 (R&D and Quality : Compatibility and Methodologies)

  • This study aims to investigate the compatibility between 'quality' and 'R&D' and to ascertain what methodology can be applied. To consider the compatibility, this study discussed whether quality management can expand into R&D area in future and whether the quality management principles in ISO9000 can work well in R&D environment. Our conclusion is that the application of the quality management in R&D is valid and can serve as a new paradigm for improving R&D performance. In addition, this study divided the quality concept in R&D into several types from the viewpoints of quality definition and suggested quality methodologies for each type.

This paper presents a panoramic review and vision on “Integration” issues of quality management, in the perspectives of concept, scope, organization, information, process, and culture.

해외여행상품의 서비스품질척도의 비교 및 만족. 재구매의도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Determinants of Perceived Service Quality:-Focused on the Comparisons of SERVQUAL, SERVPERF and Non-Difference Scores-)

  • 본 연구의 첫 번째 목적은 Service Quality를 측정하는데 있어서 기대와 성과 측정치를 차감하는 차감식(Difference Score)에 의한 방법 (SERVQUAL), 지각된 성과만으로 개념화/조작화 하는 방법(SERVPERF), 차이를 한번에 직접 측정하는 방법 (non -difference score)중 어느 방법이 가장 타당한지를 조사하는 것이다. 본 연구의 두 번째 목적은 서비스품질 construct가 만족과 재구매의도에 대한 선행변수로서 갖는 이론적 가치를 조사하는 것이다. 부산, 경남의 376명의 60세 이상의 해외여행경험이 있는 노인들을 대상으로 설문조사가 이루어 졌다. 연구결과 SERVQUAL, SERVPERF와 비차이척도를 이용하는 방법의 비교결과 모델적합도를 나타내는 지수가 상충되게 나타났다 만족과 재구매의도에 미치는 영향력에 있어서는 대부분의 서비스품질 선행 구성변수들이 유의적인 영향력을 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
