The reponse of the angled two-strip transmission lines illuminated by an external electromagnetic field is estimated by using the circuit concept approach. Calculated terminal voltages reveal convergence to a fixed value as the number of discretization increases. The amplitude patterns of two terminal voltages to all the direction and polarization of the incident field are also calculated.

P-values are often perceived as measurements of degree of compatibility between the current data and the hypothesized model. In this paper, a new concept of Bayesian p-values is proposed and studied under the non-informative prior distributions, which can be thought as the Bayesian counterparts of the classical p-values in the sense of using the concept of significance level. The performances of the proposed Bayesian p-values are compared with those of the classical p-values through several examples.

On the basis of the review of radiobiological date, a formalism is developed for the analysis and prediction of iso-effect relations for tissue tolerance, which can be used as an alternative to the norminal standard dose(NSD) formaula of Ellis and its derived equations. An important feature of the described formalism is that directly based on radiobiological insights and it provides a more logical concept to account for the diversity of tissue responses. The NSD concept has subsequently been extended to the formalisms of timedose-fractionation(TDF) value. The authors deriveded TDF equation on the basis NSD of Ellis. TDF=0.07(NSD)-26.

This study suggests on optimal process when decision maker is confronted with expert's biased information under the situation that the bias is caused mainly by the difference of their interest. In order to make honest transmission of expert's probabilistic information, the concept of expert use and scoring rule to provide expert with an incentive is used in this paper. And expected regret concept is introduced to evaluate the value of expert's information. A simple example is also shown.

확률 개념과 지식이 정립되는 단계에서 중요한 의의를 가졌던 기댓값이 확률의 역사에서 초기에 역사적으로 어떻게 다루어졌는가를 알아보는 것은 의미 있는 일이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기댓값의 개념과 정의가 변화하고 정선되어 온 역사적 과정에서 이 발전에 기여한 몇 가지 문제와 함께 그 문제의 해결 과정을 알아봄으로써 확률에서 기댓값의 의미를 다시 한번 고찰해 보고자 한다.

In this paper, an efficient robust control method for chaotic system introducing the concept, the edge of chaos (:boundary status between chaos and non-chaos), is proposed. A layout design concept which suppress the substrate current generated during the switching transients of an CMOS inverter is presented. The amount of hot carriers and the peak value of substrate current can be reduced by changing the device geometry ratio of driver and load device of an CMOS inverter.

The authors map some of the current Business Models in the Massively Multiplayer Online Player scenario. These maps represent Value Creation Systems by resorting to Value Net constructs and notations, and are offered here as a proof of concept and utility. The authors claim that these mappings can enable readers, managers and IT experts, to build new insights onto such Business Models and develop requirements for Information System infrastructure. When approaching the Value Creation System as a Value Net the goal is to think outside the conceptual box of Value Chains and understand how the different activities interact, by exposing the multiplicity of value types and flows. In doing this study the authors are attempting to synthesize a new Business Model proposal that could underlie the development of an infrastructure for the collaborative creation, distribution and exploration of online massively multiplayer games, beyond the traditional producer-consumer roles.

COD test based on fracture mechanics concept was used in this study to evaluate the fracture toughness quantitatively. Effects of specimen sizes on critical COD value for ABS EH 36 steel and its submerged arc weldments, and the variation of critical COD value depending on metallurgical/mechanical heterogeneities caused by weld thermal cycles were investigated. Experiment was performed by using specimens made from base metal and submerged arc weldments according to BS 5762. Obtained results are summarized as follows; 1) Critical COD value for base metal decreases with increasing thickness of specimen. On hand, as the reduction ratio of critical COD decreases with increasing specimen thickness, critical COD value becomes constant above a thickness of specimen. 2) Critical COD value for weldment decreases with increasing thickness of specimen and was also affected by metallurgical states of base metal. 3) Size effects for weldment was greater at the hardened region. 4) Critical COD value was affected by microstructural change due to weld thermal cycles in weldments; that is, accicular ferrite formation is favorable for increasing of COD value.
