Computerized cognitive training utilized to enhance cognitive function in dementia patients enables them to autonomously execute and acquire tasks while obtaining prompt and precise feedback on their performance. We are designed to highlight the efficacy and clinical relevance of computerized cognitive training programs as therapies for elderly adults with mild dementia. In accordance with the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions, we conducted a review of pertinent literature across various databases, including the Korean Information Service System, Research Information Sharing Service, National Assembly Digital Library, DBpia, and PubMed, encompassing research from 2003 to 2023. Utilizing rigorous inclusion and exclusion criteria, we examined a final sample of 12 research. The data indicated that following computerized cognitive training interventions for senior adults with mild dementia, ADAS-Cog exhibited the most substantial effect size (g=-1.400), succeeded by MMSE (g=0.631), DRS (g=0.522), BNT (g=0.335), and GDS (g=-0.304), ranked by intervention efficacy. The findings allow us to assert that computerized cognitive training programs significantly enhance cognitive function, alleviate depressive symptoms, and improve language abilities in elderly individuals with mild dementia.

Purpose : This study aimed to investigate a study on the intervention of computerized cognitive rehabilitation applied to patients with dementia in Korea. Thus, a systematic discussion was conducted. Methods : Studies from January 2000 to December 2016 were searched in the Korea Education and Research Information Service. The main key words used were: "dementia," "computerized cognitive rehabilitation," "computerized cognitive training," "computer assisted cognitive therapy," and "computerized cognitive therapy." Result : A total of five studies were selected. The effects of the computerized cognitive rehabilitation therapy applied to patients with dementia resulted in improved cognitive functions, as well as daily living and activities instrumental to daily living. There was also an increase in brain activity. The qualitative aspects of this study showed a low level of internal and external validities due to the small number of subjects, short period of intervention, and limited study environment. Conclusion : In the future, it is necessary to continue a study in which the level of evidence is high to determine whether various cognitive rehabilitation programs are effectively applied to patients with dementia.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of a computerized cognitive training on older adults affected by mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in terms of cognitive function, depression, self-esteem, and activities of daily living (ADL). Methods: This study used a non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design. A total of 53 older adults who reside in long-term care facilities were recruited, 26 subjects for an experimental group and 27 subjects for a control group. A computerized cognitive training was performed for 20~40 minutes/day, three days/week for ten weeks. Data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 21.0 with $x^2$ test, Fisher's exact test, and t-test. Results: Scores of MMSE (t=3.30, p=.002), depression (t=-2.15, p=.036), and self-esteem (t=2.76, p=.008) were significantly better in the experimental group than the control group. However, the difference in ADL (t=-1.01, p=.316) was not significant between the two groups. Conclusion: These findings suggest that the computerized cognitive training can be used as an effective nursing intervention to improve cognitive function and self-esteem and lower depression among older adults with MCI.

Purpose : This study investigates the effects of the application of traditional occupational therapy and the korean computerized cognition training system on the cognitive function and performance of daily activities of stroke patients with cognitive impairment. Methods : From inpatients referred for rehabilitation treatment at L Rehabilitation Hospital located in Busan, 20 patients diagnosed with stroke from April 05. 2021 to May 02. 2021 (study period) were selected, They were divided into two, an experimental group consisting of 10 subjects who underwent a computerized cognitive rehabilitation program and traditional occupational therapy in combination and a control group of 10 subjects who underwent traditional occupational therapy alone. In order to measure the cognitive function of the subjects before the intervention, two assessment tests were conducted: a Neurobehavioral Cognitive Status Examination (NCSE), which evaluates stroke-related cognitive ability, and a Functional Independence Measure (FIM) test, which evaluates life activities. Then, both groups received a total of 20 training sessions at 30 minutes per session, five times a week for four weeks. Results : A statistically significant difference was found in cognitive function between before and after the cognitive training for both the experimental group and the control group. For the FIM scores, statistically significant differences were observed after intervention in the categories of handling personal matters and social cognition, and in the total score. The average scores of the remaining items also improved. Conclusion : The results of this study showed that both the computerized cognition rehabilitation program and the traditional occupational therapy had a positive effect on the improvement of cognitive function in stroke patients.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study applied computerized cognitive therapy and proprioception exercise to stroke patients and analyzed improvement in their changes in Electrocephalogram(EEG). METHODS: The subjects were 30 patients who were diagnosed with stroke and they were randomly selected to a proprioceptive training group(n=15), a cognitive training group(n=15). The experiment was performed for three times per week for 6 weeks and EEG was measured before and after the experiment. RESULT: Before and after the experiment in each group of experiments, the ${\alpha}$-and ${\beta}$-wave study showed significant changes but, there was no significant difference in the change between groups before and after the experiment. CONCLUSION: From the above results, the cognitive training and the proprioception training have a positive impact in stroke patients EEG changes, but it is difficult to suggest a better therapeutic interventions. However, as compared with that the cognitive training that directly involved in the cognitive and brain activation, the proprioception training have changes on brain activation. Therefore, of Clinical therapeutic interventions, the proprioception training can be presented effectively to the changes in brain activation in stroke patients.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of computerized neurocognitive function program on cognitive function about memory and attention with stroke. Methods: 24subjects with stroke were recruited. Twelve of subjects received conventional therapy including physical therapy, occupational therapy and language therapy. Another subjects received additional computer assisted cognitive training using Computer-aided Cognitive rehabilitation training system(COMCOG, MaxMedica Inc., 2004). All patients were assessed their cognitive function of memory and attention using Computerized Neurocognitive Function Test(CNT, MaxMedica Inc., 2004) before treatment and 6 weeks after treatment. Results: Before the treatment, two groups showed no difference in cognitive function(p>0.05). After 6 weeks, two groups showed significantly difference in digit span (forward, backward), verbal learning(A5, $A1{\sim}A5$), auditory CPT(n), visual CPT(n)(p<0.05). After treatment, the experimental group showed a significant improvement of digit span(forward, backward), verbal learning(A5, $A1{\sim}A5$), visual span (forward, backward), auditory CPT(n, sec), visual CPT(n, sec), and trail-making (A, B)(p<0.05). Conclusion: Computerized neurocognitive function program would be improved cognitive function of memory and attention in patients with stoke.

This pilot study investigated the effects of a portable computerized cognitive training system on the visual-perceptual function of stroke patients with mild cognitive impairment. Subjects were twelve stroke patients with mild cognitive impairment, who were assigned to an experimental group (n=6) or a control group (n=6). All subjects were trained in their respective groups for 30 min/day, five times a week, for four weeks. In each session, the experimental group received a portable computerized cognitive training program, and the control group received conventional cognitive training. The Motor-Free Visual Perception-3 (MVPT-3) was used to measure subjects' visual-perceptual ability. The MVPT-3 total scores for both groups significantly improved after the intervention (p<.05). The total score on the MVPT-3 and the score on the visual short-term memory subcategory of the MVPT-3 significantly improved for the experimental group compared to the control group (p<.05). These findings suggest that the portable computerized cognitive training system might be effective to improve the visual-perceptual function of stroke patients with mild cognitive impairment.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of the cognitive training program on cognitive function, stress and depression in geriatric hospitals. Methods: The subjects of the experimental group were 17 elderly patients who attended the cognitive training program in Geriatric Hospitals and the subjects of the control group were 15 elderly patients who attended in geriatric hospitals. The persons in training group must take cognitive training program for 4 weeks by 3 times a week. The Mini-mental State Examination Korea version (MMSE-K), Geriatric depression Scaleshort form-Korea version (GDS-K) and Korean Computerized Neurobehavioral Test (KCNT) were utilized to determine cognitive function, stress and depression. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA using SPSS/PC 12.0 program. Results: Cognitive function (t=-7.625, p=.000) in the elderly after receiving the cognitive training program was significantly more improved than before intervention. Also, Stress and depression (t=2.73, p=.004) was significantly more reduced than before the intervention. Conclusion: This cognitive training program was partially effective in improving cognitive function, neurobehavioral performance and reduce stress and depression. Therefore, it is recommended that this program be used in clinical practice as an effective nursing intervention in geriatric hospitals.

Objectives: This study was to examine the effectiveness of computerized cognitive ability enhancement program (CCAEP) using Smarttoy. The CCAEP using Smart-toy which can interact with children via bluetooth is a kids-friendly and convenient method for improving children's cognitive abilities by increasing their motivation for performing the program. We developed the CCAEP which designed to train auditory-verbal memory, visual-spatial memory, auditory-verbal working memory, and visual-spatial working memory. Methods: Eighteen children aged 8 to 10 participated in CCAEP individual training composed of 8 sessions of 40 minutes each for 4 weeks. The effect of the training was measured with Smart Toyweb's cognitive assessment tasks (smart device based assessment) as well as traditional neuropsychological tests before and after the training. Results: Children showed significant improvement in auditory-verbal memory, visual-spatial memory, auditory-verbal working memory and visual-spatial working memory abilities after the training. Conclusion: This study demonstrated promising results suggesting the effectiveness of CCAEP using Smart-Toy in clinical settings as well as school and home situations. Further controlled study with larger sample size including various clinical groups is needed to confirm the present results.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a computerized cognitive training(CCT) on cognitive, depression, life satisfaction and activity of daily living in older adults with mild dementia. The participants were 32 older adults diagnosed with mild dementia who reside in nursing hospital and were randomly divided into an 16 for an experimental group and 16 for a control group. A CCT was performed for a day/week for 8 weeks in an experimental group. The CoTras-G was used for CCT. The MMSE-K, SGDS-K, ELS and BI were administered to the experimental group and the control group in the same way in order to examine the effects of CCT. The difference of the effects between before and after a CCT conduction were identified by paired t-test. Moreover, the Mann-Whitney U-test was conducted to identify differences in variances between groups. Only participants in the experimental group reported significant improvements in cognitive function, depression, life satisfaction and activity of daily living when compared to those in the control group after CCT. There was a significant difference in cognitive function, depression, life satisfaction and activity of daily living between the experimental group and the control group after CCT. These findings suggest that the CCT can be used as effective cognitive training program to improve cognitive function, depression, life satisfaction and activity of daily living in older adults with mild dementia.
