  • Most measuring devices are equipped with RS-232 or GPIB interface for communicating data with computers. If the measuring devices can be accessed by a server computer, the valuable information from the devices can be effectively shared with other computers via internet. But, if the measuring devices and the server computer are too far away, it is difficulty to directly connect them by RS232 interface. PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network) refers to the world's collection of interconnected voice-oriented public telephone networks. Measuring computer system which is equipped with RS232 interface and modem for PSTN can be introduced to overcome the aforementioned distance problem, In this work, an internet based remote monitoring system which utilizes PSTN and VRML for 3-dimensional GUI is proposed.

  • We can monitor home from any remote location using our existing telephone line. We have already some technologies to perform these types of application such as: Bluetooth, IR. But these are used in a limited area which we can easily come over in our system. Our propose system has two sections one is Remote Section (RS) where the client will place the request and another is Local Section (LS) where the telephone line is connected with an Input Interfacing Circuit (IIC). Input Interfacing Circuit (IIC) receives the frequency and converts frequency to machine language. Output Interfacing Circuit (OIC) sends voice signal to the client as acknowledgement through modem then the client proceeds for the next steps. This system can be used in commercial or industrial purposes such as controlling computer from remote locations, home monitoring system instead of man or any kind of switching.

  • To reduce tobacco use and related harm in Korea, telephone based cessation services (Quitlines) began full operation to provide regular behavioral counseling for smoking cessation in 2006. After registration in the cessation program, at least 21 calls per year are given to each client to help quit and encourage maintenance. Tailored programs for males, females, and adolescent smokers have been offered taking into account smokers' characteristics and smoking behavior. Mailing self-help quit packs and e-mail and SMS services are allowable as additional services.A total of 23,201 smokers were registered on the Quitline program from 2006 to 2014. In 2014, an average of 13,343 calls per month have been received by 28 coaches, the 1 year abstinence rate of clients is 26%, and clients' satisfaction rate is 81.6%. After introduction of the call system in 2007, client convenience and effective operations have been achieved with high technology support of a computer-based telephone system. Systematic education and evaluation programs for quit coaches have contributed to quality assurance of the services. Currently, research into development of new programs and evaluation of Quitline performance is being undertaken. A Comprehensive Multi-channel Cessation Center (CMCC) has been suggested and is now planned as a next step in the national program for smoking cessation.

  • In this paper we studied English listening and speaking test part of foreign language using web and VoiceXML-based education testing system, which is irrespective of time and space. The testing system interface based on VoiceXML consists of user registration module, testing module, and testing result module. User registration module registers user's name and ID, password in user database, and when a tester calls for testing, the User listens to the telephone sound supported by vxml scenario. After that, if a tester logs in, the tester is verified, In the VoiceXML-based education testing system, the manager can reduce time and effort for gaining testing result. The tester listens to the voice by scenario supported by VoiceXML markup language using wire/wireless telephone at any time or anywhere and can improve the effect of foreign language studying by valuating in voice directly. verified.   • There are three types of survey research system, telephone surveys, online surveys, interviews and so on. Currently most of the survey data have been verified by hand-collecting state in korea. Semi-automated research systems, some companies are using imported from abroad. This paper is the study on the design and implementation of linked research system for global standardization. The system is optimized through customizing for local conditions, as well as professionals for telephone surveys, online surveys, interviews even a normal user can enter the questionnaire easily and quickly. The result data is passed to the customer quickly and accurately. In particular, this system is based on automatic data input and collected provides best efficient analysis and statistics. Office programs and advanced statistical program SPSS is compatible with the maximum benefits for proposed system. Additionally, to achieve the import substitution effect through localization and to propose a global standard the proposed system is designed and implemented.

  • 현재 육상과 해상간의 통신은 Inmarsat 단말기를 이용하여 전화, 텔렉스, 팩스, 전자메일(E-mail) 및 데이터 통신을 한다. 기존 전자메일 프로그램은 비싼 통신요금과 저속의 위성통신 환경에서 최대한 통신비용을 줄이기 위한 목적으로 개발되었다. 그리고 팩스를 이용하는 경우는 관련문서를 출력 후, 송신하기 때문에 시간과 비용이 낭비된다. 이에 현재 많은 나라에서 Inmarsat을 이용한 육상과 선박간의 서로 다른 네트워크 상의 정보를 공유할 수 있는 방법을 모색하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 육상과 해상간의 전자메일 시스템과 팩스 기능을 통합한 육상과 해상을 모두 지원하는 인터넷 기반의 팩스 서비스 시스템에 관한 연구이다. 이를 위하여 기존 전자메일 시스템과 공중전화망(PSTN : Public Switched Telephone Network)을 연결하는 하드웨어적인 모듈을 설계하였다.

  • Internet telephony is an Internet service which supports voice telephone using VoIP technology on the IP-based Internet. It has some advantages in that voice telephone services can be accompanied with multimedia services such as video communication and messaging services. In this paper we suggested an Asterisk-based Internet telephony system which can be easily scalable. Most current systems use text files to manage their configuration: SIP users, dialplans, IVR service and etc. But we designed the management system which introduces database tables for efficiency and scalability. It also supports web-based functions developed by using Asterisk, Apache, MySQL, jQuery, PHP and open source softwares.

  • A system to assist call routing task for telephone operators at the Directorate General of Telecommunications (DGT) in Taiwan is reported in this paper. The system was developed based on DGT organization profile with description of its six divisions instead of a corpus of recorded and transcribed call-routing dialogs. An acoustic module and an information retrieval module were built specifically for this task. The construction of IR module was based on term extraction and thesaurus discovery processes. By integrating acoustic and IR module, the system achieves satisfactory performance and provides a promising approach to call routing. Simulation results indicated that the proposed algorithm outperforms standard classification methods. A working system based on the proposed approach has been implemented and experimental results are presented.

  • In this paper, we developed the Realtime Ship Position Information System and the software in relation to the system, which consists of the on-board system and the shore-based system. The on-board system is composed a GPS receiver, a computer, and a modem. The shore-based system is composed of a telephone, a modem and a computer. Both systems are operated by the data communication program The system displays automatically the ship's movement on the digital chart by using the ship's position acquired by a GPS receiver via INMARSAT-A communication system. The results presented in many experiments indicate that the system in processing the position data well during the transmission and reception.
