In this study, the graphic simulation system of multi joint manipulator is developed to analyze and optimize the remote handling processes for the spent fuel assembly. This system consists of a 3-D graphical modeling system, a device assembling system, and a motion simulation system. To analyze and optimize the processes involved in multi-joint manipulator operation such as NFBC transportation process and bottom nozzle removal process, the virtual work place is implemented using a computer graphic technology. This virtual workcell is exactly same as that of the real environment. This graphic simulation system of the multi-joint manipulator can be effectively used for designing the main processes and maintenance processes of the spent fuel management.
A compact current model applicable to both single-gate (SG) and double-gate (DG) tunneling field-effect transistors (TFETs) is presented. The model is based on Kane's band-to-band tunneling (BTBT) model. In this model, the well-known and previously-reported quasi-2-D solution of Poisson's equation is used for the surface potential and length of the tunneling path in the tunneling region. An analytical tunneling current expression is derived from expressions of derivatives of local electric field and surface potential with respect to tunneling direction. The previously reported correction factor with three fitting parameters, compensating for superlinear onset and saturation current with drain voltage, is used. Simulation results of the proposed TFET model are compared with those from a technology computer-aided-design (TCAD) simulator, and good agreement in all operational bias is demonstrated. The proposed SG/DG-TFET model is developed with Verilog-A for circuit simulation. A TFET inverter is simulated with the Verilog-A SG/DG-TFET model in the circuit simulator; the model exhibits typical inverter characteristics, thereby confirming its effectiveness.

To meet the challenge of testing increasingly complex automotive control systems, the real-time hardware-in-the-loop(HIL) simulation technology has been developed. In this paper, a strategy for evaluation of semiactive suspension systems using real-time HIL simulation is presented. A multibody vehicle model is adopted to simulate vehicle dynamic motions accurately. Accuracy of the vehicle simulation results is compared to that of the real vehicle field test and proven to be very accurate. The controller and stepping motor to adjust semi-active damper stage are equipped as external hardwares and connected to the real-time computer which has vehicle dynamic model. Open and closed loop test methods are used to evaluate a controlled suspension system and the system's operations are verified it is found that the proposed evaluation methods can be used well for the verification of semi-active suspension systems.
In order to develop a rapid predicting method of the shelf-life of moisture sensitive foods and establish their proper packaging methods, the qualify changes and shelf-life of dired laver as a model food were studied by the computer simulation. A mathematical model of the relationship between the rate constants of chlorophyll a and water activity was established at $10^{\circ}C,\;25^{\circ}C$ and $40^{\circ}C$. Computer simulation to predict water activity and chlorophyll a was developed by considering the simultaneous influence of storage conditions such as water content of products, storage temperature and relative humidity, packaging materials. Simulated quality changes of dried laver was in good agreement with the experiment data. Chlorophyll a and sensory score decreased as the water activity increased. And correlation coefficient between the sensory scores and the contents of chlorophyll a was very high as 0.991. The critical water activity by sensory evaluation was around 0.55. The shelf-life of dried laver packaged with plastic films could be predicted from the above results in various storage conditions.

This paper presents an adaptive feedback linearization control scheme for induction motors with simultaneous variation of rotor and stator resistances. Two typical modeling techniques, rotor flux model and stator flux model, have been developed and successfully applied to the controller design and adaptive observer design, respectively. By using stator fluxes as states, over-parametrization in adaptive control can be prevented and control strategy can be developed without the need of nonlinear transformation. It also decrease the relative degree for the flux modulus by one, thereby, yielding, a simple control algorithm. However, when this method is used for flux observer, it cannot guarantee the convergence of flux. Similarly, the rotor flux model may be appropriate for observers, but it is not so for adaptive controllers. In addition, if these two existing methods are merged into overall adaptive control system, it brings about structural complexies. In this paper, we did not use these two modeling methods, and opted for the airgap flux model which takes on only the positive aspects of the existing rotor flux model and stator flux model and prevents structural complexity from occuring. Through theoretical analysis by using Lyapunov's direct method, simulations, and actual experiments, it is shown that stator and rotor resistances converge to their actual values, flux is well estimated, and torque and flux are controlled independently with the measurements of rotor speed, stator currents, and stator voltages. These results were achieved under the persistent excitation condition, which is shown to hold in the simulation.
Energy simulation tools can provide information on the amount of heat transfer through building envelope components, which are considered the main sources of heat loss in buildings. Therefore, it is important to improve the quality of outputs from energy simulation tools and also the process of obtaining them. In this paper, a new Building Energy Performance Assessment Tool (BEPAT) is introduced, which provides users with granular data related to heat transfer through every single wall, window, door, roof, and floor in a building and automatically saves all the related data in text files. This information can be used to identify the envelope components for thermal improvement through energy retrofit or during the design phase. The generated data can also be adopted in the design of energy smart homes, building design tools, and energy retrofit tools as a supplementary dataset. BEPAT is developed by modifying EnergyPlus source code as the energy simulation engine using C++, which only requires Input Data File (IDF) and weather file to perform the energy simulation and automatically provide detailed output. To validate the BEPAT results, a computer model is developed in Revit for use in BEPAT. Validating BEPAT's output with EnergyPlus "advanced output" shows a difference of less than 2% and thus establishing the capability of this tool to facilitate the provision of detailed output on the quantity of heat transfer through walls, fenestrations, roofs, and floors.
The development of proxy caching is essential in the area of video-on-demand (VoD) to meet users' expectations. VoD requires high bandwidth and creates high traffic due to the nature of media. Many researchers have developed proxy caching models to reduce bandwidth consumption and traffic. Proxy caching keeps part of a media object to meet the viewing expectations of users without delay and provides interactive playback. If the caching is done continuously, the entire cache space will be exhausted at one stage. Hence, the proxy server must apply cache replacement policies to replace existing objects and allocate the cache space for the incoming objects. Researchers have developed many cache replacement policies by considering several parameters, such as recency, access frequency, cost of retrieval, and size of the object. In this paper, the Weighted-Rank Cache replacement Policy (WRCP) is proposed. This policy uses such parameters as access frequency, aging, and mean access gap ratio and such functions as size and cost of retrieval. The WRCP applies our previously developed proxy caching model, Hot-Point Proxy, at four levels of replacement, depending on the cache requirement. Simulation results show that the WRCP outperforms our earlier model, the Dual Cache Replacement Policy.

In this paper, the development of a simulator for the performance estimation and parameter optimization of an integrates voice/data packet communication network is described. The simulator implemented is capable of simulating the integrated voice/data network that handles packet voice terminals as well as data terminals and hosts operating under standard CCITT protocols. Of the three descrete event simulation approaches presently known, the process interaction method has been chose. With this approach one can implement a simulator that is related most Closely with the real system. The simulator has been implemented in PL/I and GPSS simulation languages, resulting in a software package of about 4,000 lines. To reduce the computer run time of the simulator, we have used a method of reducing conditional events based on a GPSS LINK block. We describe various aspects of the simulation model developed. We then investigate the performance of a 7-node network using the simulator, and present the results. For validation of the simulator developed, we construct a simulation model for a simple voice/ data multiplexer, and compare the results of simulation with those of an analytical model.
Nonlinear parameterization of OLED device from measurements of bias dependence of impedance spectra and parameter extraction using Levenberg-Marquardt complex nonlinear least square regression algorithm based on resistor-capacitor equivalent circuit model enables computer simulation of OLED power driving characteristics in forms of square-wave or sinusoidal output signal at arbitrary conditions. We introduce developed OLED power driving simulation software and discuss transient responses in voltage-or current-controlled operations as well as nonlinear characteristics of OLED, by presenting both the simulation and experimental results. This OLED simulation technique using impedance spectroscopy is extremely useful in predicting performance of the nonlinear device, especially in time-domain analysis of device operation.

We developed a new systematic calibration procedure which was applied to the calibration of the diffusivity, segregation and TED model of the indium impurity. The TED of the indium impurity has been studied using 4 different groups of experimental conditions. Although the indium is susceptible to the TED, the RTA is effective to suppress the TED effect and maintain a steep retrograde profile. Like the boron, the indium shows significant oxidationenhanced diffusion in silicon and has segregation coefficients at the $Si/SiO_2$ interface much less than 1. In contrast, however, the segregation coefficient of indium decreases as the temperature increases. The accuracy of the proposed technique is validated by SIMS data and $0.13 {\mu}m$ device characteristics such as $V_{th}$ and $Id_{sat}$ with errors less than $5 \%$ between simulation and experiment.
