  • $CaCO_{3}$ absorbed sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) surfactant was prepared, Core-shell polymers of inorganic/organic pair, which have both core and shell component, were synthesized by sequential emulsion polymerization using styrene(St) as a shell monomer and potasium persulfate (KPS) as an initiator, We found that when $CaCO_{3}$; core prepared by adding 2,0 wt% SLS, $CaCO_{3}$ core/PSt shell polymerization was carried out on the surface of $CaCO_{3}$ particle without forming the new PSt particle during St shell polymerization in the inorganic/organic core-shell polymer preparation, The structure of core-shell polymer were investigated by measuring the degree of decomposition of $CaCO_{3}$ using HCl solution, thermal decomposition of polymer composite using thermogravimetric analyzer and morphology by scanning electron microscope.

  • Muscle based face image synthesis is one of the most realistic approach to realize life-like agent in computer. Facial muscle model is composed of facial tissue elements and muscles. In this model, forces are calculated effecting facial tissue element by contraction of each muscle strength, so the combination of each muscle parameter decide a specific facial expression. Now each muscle parameter is decided on trial and error procedure comparing the sample photograph and generated image using our Muscle-Editor to generate a specific race image. In this paper, we propose the strategy of automatic estimation of facial muscle parameters from 2D marker movement using neural network. This also 3D motion estimation from 2D point or flow information in captered image under restriction of physics based fare model.

  • Environmental stres is known to induce heat shock proteins (HSPs) in eukaryotic cells. However, the induction of HSPs in host cells by microbial infection has not yet been well explained. Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is one of the major pathogens in the pathogenesis of endovascular diseases such as infective endocarditis. In this study, the synthesis of stress-inducible 70 kDa HSP was investigated in the endothelial cells (ECs) after 3 h to 20 h of incubation with S. aureus. The dffect of S. aureus infection on the expression of HSP70 in cultured ECs was analyzed using laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM). The increase of HSP70 expression in ECs infected by S. aureus ($10^4{\;}cfu/ml$) for 20 h was 1.1-fold higher than that in heat shock treated ECs and 2.2-fold higher than that in untreated cells. Heat shock is known to induce intranucleus HSP70 expression in mammalian cells, whereas the S. aureus infection induced perinuclear expression in ECs as observed by LSCM. Consequently, the expression of HSP70 in ECs plays an important role in the pathogenesis of endovascular infection.

  • In 3D computer graphics, a depth map is an image that provides information related to the distance from the viewpoint to the subject's surface. Stereo sensors, depth cameras, and imaging systems using an active illumination system and a time-resolved detector can perform accurate depth measurements with their own light sources. The 3D image information obtained through the depth map is useful in 3D modeling, autonomous vehicle navigation, object recognition and remote gesture detection, resolution-enhanced medical images, aviation and defense technology, and robotics. In addition, the depth map information is important data used for extracting and restoring multi-view images, and extracting phase information required for digital hologram synthesis. This study is oriented toward a recent research trend in deep learning-based 3D data analysis methods and depth map information extraction technology using a convolutional neural network. Further, the study focuses on 3D image processing technology related to digital hologram and multi-view image extraction/reconstruction, which are becoming more popular as the computing power of hardware rapidly increases.

  • The global stability of model reference adaptive control system (MRACS) in the ideal case was resolved in the 1980's. Hoever the improvement of the transient, behaviour of MRACS has not been discussed sufficiently even in the ideal case. Only a few attempts have so far been made at the application of MRACS to the practical systems in contrast to the theoretical systematization. Therefore, when we consider the practical usage of MRACS it is necessary to develop an improved design scheme with respect to transient behaviour. In this paper, we propose two design schemes improving transient behaviour of MRACS by mollifying the input synthesis in the conventional design scheme of MRACS. We present a design scheme of MRACS in which we utilize the design approach of variable structure system(VSS). After describing the above design scheme, we also propose the improved design scheme in which we introduce the dead-zone decided by the magnitude of the output-error between the plant and the reference model. The effectiveness of the proposed two design schemes are shown through computer simulations. As the results, by using these methods, the convergence of the transient response is greatly improved in comparison with the conventional one.

  • Two-way addressing method has been proposed for efficient VLSI implementation of Euclidean calculation circuit for pipelined Reed-Solomon decoder. This new circuit is operating with single clock while exploiting maximum parallelism, and uses register addressing instead of register shifting to minimize the switching power. Logic synthesis shows the circuit with the new scheme takes 3,000 logic gates, which is about 40% reduction from the previous 5,000 gate implementation. Computer simulation also shows the power consumption is about 3mW. The previous implementation with multiple clock consumed about 5mW.

  • As mobile systems are performing various functionality in the IoT (Internet of Things) era, network-on-chip (NoC) plays a pivotal role to support communication between the tens and in the future potentially hundreds of interacting modules in system-on-chips (SoCs). Owing to intensive research efforts more than a decade, NoCs are now widely adopted in various SoC designs. Especially, studies on application-specific NoCs (ASNoCs) that consider the heterogeneous nature of modern SoCs contribute a significant share to use of NoCs in actual SoCs, i.e., ASNoC connects non-uniform processing units, memory, and other intellectual properties (IPs) using flexible router positions and communication paths. Although it is not difficult to find the prior works on ASNoC synthesis and optimization, little research has addressed the issues how to convert different protocols and data widths to make a NoC compatible with various IPs. Thus, in this paper, we address important issues on ASNoC implementation to support and convert multiple interfaces. Based on the in-depth discussions, we finally introduce our FPGA-proven full-custom ASNoC.

  • Currently, it is usually a 3D scanner processing method as a laser method. However, the laser method has a disadvantage of slow scanning speed and poor precision. Although optical scanners are used as a method to compensate for these shortcomings, optical scanners are closely related to the distance and precision of the object, and have the disadvantage of being expensive. In this paper, 3D scanner using variable focus lens-based structured light module with improved measurement precision was designed to be high performance, low price, and usable in industrial fields. To this end, designed a telecentric optical system based on a variable focus lens and connected to the telecentric mechanism of the step motor and lens to adjust the focus of the variable lens. Designed a connection structure with optimized scalability of hardware circuits that configures a stepper motor to form a system with a built-in processor. In addition, by applying an algorithm that can simultaneously acquire high-resolution texture image and depth information and apply image synthesis technology and GPU-based high-speed structured light processing technology, it is also stable for changes to external light. We will designed and implemented for further improving high measurement precision.

  • In this paper, we discuss the user-customized interaction for intelligent home environments. The interactive system is based upon the integrated techniques using speech recognition and fingerprint verification. For essential modules, the speech recognition and synthesis were basically used for a virtual interaction between the user and the proposed system. In experiments, particularly, the real-time speech recognizer based on the HM-Net(Hidden Markov Network) was incorporated into the integrated system. Besides, the fingerprint verification was adopted to customize home environments for a specific user. In evaluation, the results showed that the proposed system was easy to use for intelligent home environments, even though the performance of the speech recognizer was not better than the simulation results owing to the noisy environments

  • Adaptive digital filtering and noise cancelling technique using a tree structured filter bank are presented to reduce a undesirable aliasing due to the decimation of filtered output and improve the performance in terms of mean-square error and the convergence speed using a aliasing canceller. A signal is split into two subband by analysis filter bank and decimated by decimator and reconstructed by interpolation technique and synthesis filter bank. A variable step-size LMS algorithm is used to improve the convergence speed in case of existing the measurement noise in desired input of filter. It is shown by computer simulation that the proposed subband structure in this paper is superior to conventional subband filter structure in terms of mean-square error and convergence speed.
