  • In this paper, we propose the single polycrystalline silicon flash EEPROM IC with a new structure which does not need the high voltage switching circuit. The design of high voltage switching circuits which are needed for the data program and erase, has been an obstacle to develop the single-poly EEPROM. Therefore, we has proposed the new cell structure which uses the low voltage switching circuits and has designed the full chip. A new single-poly EEPROM cell is designed and the full chip including the control block, the analog block, row decoder block, and the datapath block is designed. And the each block is verified by using the computer simulation. In addition, the full chip layout is performed.

  • The back-light inverter used in the laptop computer is designed in this paper. It has been difficult for electromagnetic transformer to enhance the efficiency and compact profile of the inverter. In this paper, (1) the piezoelectric transformer (PT) is used for reducing the loss; (2) the volumes of core and winding coil are used in electromagnetic transformer, and (3) the half-bridge series parallel resonant circuit is used in the driver of the inverter. The modified PT for this paper and the equivalent circuit are supported by the simulation program. The result of the experiment shows more than 91% improvement in terms of the efficiency.

  • Over the last few years, there has been a growing interest in quantitative representation of heat transfer and fluid flow phenomena in weld pools in order to relate the processing conditions to the quality of the weldment produced and to use this information for the optimization and robotization of the welding process. Normally, a theoretical model offers a powerful alternative to estimate the important input parameters and to calculate the effects of varying any of parameters. To solve this problem, a transient 2D(two-dimensional) heat conduction and a transient 2D axisymmetric heat and fluid model were developed for determining weld bead geometry and temperature distribution for the GMA(Gas Metal Arc) welding process. The equation was solved using a general thermofluid-mechanics computer program, PHOENICS code, which is based on the SIMPLE algorithm. The simulation results showed that the calculated bead geometry from two developed models reasonably agree with the experiment result.

  • In this study, the energy characteristic of automatic thermostatic valves according to each heating method in floor radiant heating system were researched by computer simulation. For the analysis of unsteady heat transfer phenomena in household, the method of using electrical equivalent R-C circuit is applied, and radiation heat transfer between panel, ceiling and walls in household is calculated by enclosure analysis method. The parametric study on heating method, valve's control method, outdoor air condition, supply heating water temperature, supply flow rate are performed to compare energy characteristic, respectively.

  • The objectives of the present work is to investigate the influence of the solution cooled absorber(SCA), refrigerant drain heat exchanger(RSX), exhaust gas/solution heat exchanger(ESX) and high efficiency solution heat exchanger on COP for a double-effect series-flow absorption chiller. A simulation program has been prepared for the cycle analysis of absorption chillers. As a result, Solution heat exchangers(LSX, HSX) are a most effective element for the COP than the others. In spite of the poor contribution to COP, SCA make a rule to reduce the crystallization phenomena of LiBr solution at solution heat exchanger. And the optimum solution split ratio are varied with the relative size of RSX and LSX.

  • The trends in building construction these days are moving towards having better work spaces and greater suitability for the use of information technology. Therefore people can work in a more relaxed delightful and pleasant environment. Accident such as like fire could cause the mass destruction of human beings. This paper aims to evaluate the path of the spread of a fire and the suitability of fire fighting appliances for maximum egress time. General advanced phase of compartment. Aswell, we analyzed and verified the path of the flame in compartment fires. Also we conducted an analysis of the adaptation of sprinkler systems concerned with sprinkler RTI. Moreover those evaluation is made more earlier by the development and use of computer simulation program and rapid progress to apply PBFD (Performance Based Fire Design).

  • A drum type magnetic separator was designed and optimized by computer simulation. The separator consisted of rotating outer shell of drum, magnetic flux generator drum which was assembled with numbers of disk type magnet holders, and drum axis around which the magnet holders were fixed. NdFeB magnet blocks were inserted into the disks, and the disks were assembled layer by layer along the drum axis. Magnetic circuits of the separator were simulated on the basis of highest magnetic strength, least cost, and high yield of separation by using a Vector Field S/W employing the Opera-2D program. The separator proved a separation yield of 95% in removing fine iron-base particles, and installed at Hot Rolling Mill of Pohang Iron & Steel Co. In Korea.

  • In this study, the estimate speed of rotor in the induction motor with Model Reference Adaptive control System (MARC) principle and to study that vector control system feedbacks speed estimated to speed control system and its result is as follows; Considering with explanation an influence of speed estimation mechanism depend on error about the second resistance size established, it estimates the deviation of the second resistance establishment and exhibits a compensation method, what is more, it designs a reparation program using the fuzzy algorithm and testifies the result with the computer simulation. And besides, it composes the load torque estimation and estimates the load torque, as the result, feedback-compensating the result of estimation, it improves the efficiency. In consequence, it makes a good result for more powerful vector control system about the outside trouble.

  • The non-linear properties of rubber material which are described as strain energy function are important parameter to design and evaluate of rubber spring. These are determined by material tests which are uni-axial tension and bi-axial tension. The computer simulation using the nonlinear element analysis program executed to predict and evaluate the load capacity and stiffness for chevron spring. In order to investigate the heat-aging effects on the rubber material properties, the acceleration test were carried out. Compression set results changes as the threshold are used for assessment of the useful life and time to threshold value were plotted against reciprocal of absolute temperature to give the Arrhenius plot. By using the compression set test, several useful life prediction for rubber material were proposed.

A calculation on the Metal-Film Mixing by Intense Pulse Ion Beam (IPIB)

  • In this paper, we studied, by numerical calculation, a system, which was composed of metal-film and metal-substrate irradiated by IPIB with beam ion energy 250 keV, current density 10 to 250 A/$\textrm{cm}^2$. While the IPIB irradiation was going on, an induced effect named mixing occurred. In this case, metal-film and part of metal-substrate melted and mixed. The mixing state was kept as it was in melting phase due to the fast cooling rate. Our works were simulating the heating and cooling process via our STEIPIB program and tried to find proper parameters for a specific film-substrate system, 500 nmtitanium film coated on aluminum, to get best mixing results. The parameters calculated for such Ti-Al system were compared with the experimental results and were in good accordance to the experimental results.
