오목한 반구면의 Jet Impingement/Effusion Hole 주변 유동 특성에 대한 실험과 시뮬레이션의 비교 (Comparison of Experimental and Simulation Results for Flow Characteristics around Jet Impingement/Effusion Hole in Concave Hemispherical Surface)

  • Flow characteristics of jet impingement over concave hemispherical surface with effusion cooling holes is relatively more complex than that of a flat surface, so the experimental validation for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) results is important. In this study, experimental results were compared with simulation results obtained by assuming different turbulence models. The vortex was observed in the region between the central jets where the recirculation structure appeared. The different patterns of vorticity distributions were observed for each turbulence models due to different interaction of the injected jet flow. Among them, the transition k-kl-ω model predicted similarly not only the jet potential core region with higher velocity, but also the recirculation region between the central jets. From the validation, it may be helpful to accurately predict heat and mass transfer in jet impingement/effusion hole system.

  • The characteristic of jet impinging on the concave surface were analyzed through thermographic phosphor thermometry (TPT) and numerical investigation. Under a jet Reynolds number of 6600, nozzle diameters and nozzle-to-surface distances (H/d) were changed 5mm and 10mm and H/d=2 and 5. The RNG k-ε turbulence model can accurately predict the distribution of Nusselt number, compared to other models (SST k-ω, realizable k-ε). Heat transfer characteristics varied with the nozzle diameter and H/d, with a secondary peak noted at H/d =2, due to vortex-induced flow detachment and reattachment. An increase in nozzle diameter enhanced jet momentum, turbulence strength, and heat transfer.

  • 과학적 가시화의 한 분야인 볼륨 가시화는 3차원, 혹은 그 이상의 차원의 공간에서 정의된 추상적이고 복잡한 볼륨 데이타로부터 의미 있고 가시적인 정보를 효과적으로 추출하도록 도와주는 다양한 기술에 관한 연구 분야로서, 기상학, 의학, 계산 유체 역학 등 여러 학문 분야에서 점차 그 중요성을 더해가고 있다. 한편 가상 현실은 컴퓨터가 만든 가상의 세상에 사용자가 몰입하여 시각, 청각, 촉각 등의 감각을 이용하여 세상을 경험하고 대화식으로 정보를 주고받을 수 있도록 도와주는 여러 기술에 관련된 연구 분야로서 국내외적으로 활발한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 CAVE라 불리는 몰입형 3차원 가상 환경 시스템 환경에서 인체 볼륨 데이타를 보다 개선된 볼륨 가시화 방법을 사용하여 실시간으로 입체 영상을 생성해주는 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 이 시스템은 기존 3차원 텍스처 매핑 기반 볼륨 렌더링 방법의 느린 속도를 보완하고자, 영상 기반 렌더링에 기반을 둔 향상된 텍스처 매핑 기법을 사용하여 실시간 볼륨 입체 가시화 기능을 지원하며, 사용자를 위하여 다양한 인터페이스 기능들을 제공한다. 본 시스템의 효용성을 증명하기 위한 테스트 데이터로서 Visible Korean Human 데이타를 사용하였다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 입체 영상 시스템에 필요한 가시화 기법과 라이브러리, 그리고 구체적인 구현 내용에 대해서 설명한다.

  • Flow around Savonius rotor is studied by means of the numerical simulation. Three-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are solved numerically. Overgrid system is employed in order to enable the flow calculation of complex geometry. The basic equations in each region are solved by using the standard MAC method. The physical quantities such as the velocity and the pressure among each region are transferred through the overlapping region which is common in each region. Some numerical results of static and rotating rotor will be presented.

  • Fluid is an effective element in computer animation. Recently, the techniques from CFD have been actively applied to CG production. In this paper, we describe our fluid animation system which implements a variety of established simulation and rendering methods. We also explain our new techniques such as chemical reaction and hardware-assisted fluid animation that are being developed to enhance the features of our software system.

  • In this paper, a simplified visualization method is proposed for an urban space in consideration of weather and sun moving. In the proposed method, buildings and roads with shadows are visualized by the ray tracing algorithm. Also sky, snow, and rain are visualized by textures. Some textures such as snow and rain are generated in advance by the ray casting algorithm. Then we can obtain images with weather condition and shadows of sunlight by buildings along the road in relatively low computational cost

  • This research suggests a load balancing method for a volume rendering system which supports concurrent users. When concurrent users use a volume rendering server system, the computational resources are occupied by a particular user by turns because each process consumes the computational resources as much as possible. In this case, the previous method shows acceptable throughput but the latency is increased for each user. In this research, we suggest a method to improve the latency without performance degradation. Each process makes concessions for taking the resources according to the number of users connected to the system. And we propose a load balancing method in the dynamic situation in which the number of users can vary. Using our methods, we can improve the latency time for each user.

  • Nowadays there are numerous factors to design the structure even for simple one, but many parts of the work are similar to the existing or repeated simply. In this case, design of the structure is unnecessarily needed lots of effort and time. To solve difficulties of design, an integrated design automation system for retaining wall structures that widely used is developed. The automation system consists of following items, 1) XML data structure between modules, 2) CAD visualization system to provide drawing sheets, 3) excel solution to provide structural design sheets and bills of quantity, 4) design logic to analysis and calculate behaviors of structure, and 5) GUI to represent data and results for the program.

  • In shipbuilding, 2D manufacturing drawings are crucial for building a ship. Even various types of 3D models are being utilized for supporting ship manufacturing, which does not reduce the importance of 2D drawings. Recently things are changing in the shipbuilding industry. To reduce the number of 2D drawings or to reduce the quantity of information contained in 2D drawings, some attempts that can substitute for 2D drawings are being made. One of the attempts is to visualize lightweight 3D manufacturing models in a mobile device. In this paper, a method for displaying lightweight 3D models of a ship in an Android based device is introduced. To overcome the problem with parsing JT files in Android system, JT files are parsed in a Windows based server and as-simple-as-possible visualization data are transmitted to an Android based viewer. A comparison result with a commercial system is also given.
