  • In this paper, the connection and convergence between mathematics and science (physics) concepts were investigated. In addition, methods to closely analyze the degree of mathematics and science (physics) learning were looked into. Furthermore, methods to express and analyze the learning states of individual learners were investigated and a plan to organize educational programs was sought.

Teachers' Perception on the Expression Method in Bebras Challenge for Computing Knowledge Assessment

  • The evaluation of students' computational thinking begins with the evaluation of knowledge about the concepts and principles of computing. In this study, we analyzed the differences in teachers' perceptions depending on the description method of the bebras challenge questions to evaluate computer science knowledge. First, we classified the questions into two types depending on whether computer science terms were included or not. Also we made a computational thinking questionnaire with two types of questions and surveyed 72 major teachers. As a result, teachers expressed the opinion that the evaluation questions that revealed computer science terms were appropriate as evaluation questions for information subjects. They also perceived it as more helpful in assessing computational thinking and coding skills. Through the results of this study, we suggested that the way the questions are worded is important in the process of assessing students' understanding of computer science concepts and computational thinking skills.

  • This purpose of this study is to develop and apply the physical computing lessons based on the software guidelines from the Ministry of Education (2015). In this study, I research how computational thinking occurs in class by applying the physical computing lessons to elementary students based on computational practices. The physical computing lessons and analytic methods for computational thinking in this study can be used as a sample and case-study to develop the lessons in the educational field.

  • Concepts, methods and tools for interactive CAD-based concurrent engineering design optimization of mechanical/structural systems and components which are critical in terms of cost development time, functionality and quality, are presented. The emphasis is on implementation of methods and capabilities for the optimization of composite structural system, and the integration of design process and manufacturing process of composite structures into standard CAD-based concurrent engineering environment The optimization of composite fuselage structures are performed under concurrent engineering environment for the example.

  • A computer program for free vibration analysis of plane framed structures has been developed by object oriented programming technique using C" language.   • An integrated structural design system can define and process complex design information that occurs in each of the design stages for flexible cooperation. It can also reduce human error on sequential design steps: preliminary design, analysis and detailed design. Therefore, it's very important to have consistent semantic expression and procedure for structural design information that has complex relationships. In this study, we introduce the object-oriented concepts and object-oriented database thechnique that provides high level semantic expression in order to develop an integrated structural design system.

  • This paper is concerned with formulations of the hierarchical $C^{o}$-plate element on the basis of Reissner-Mindlin plate theory. On reason for the development of the aforementioned element is that it is still difficult to construct elements based on h-version concepts which are accurate and stable against the shear locking effects. An adaptive mesh refinement and selective p-distribution of the polynomial degree using hp-version of the finite element method we proposed to verify the superior convergence and algorithmic efficiency with the help of the clamped L-shaped plate problems.s.

  • The development of computer-integrated design systems that fully support structural design process needs the computerization of structural design at the preliminary design stage. The objective of this paper is to develop a prototype system for preliminary design of reinforced concrete structures. This study focuses on the development of a natural design process oriented GUI(Graphic User Interface) and a representation of an experienced knowledge. The prototype system has been currently implemented using the objected-oriented programming concepts, the program language(i.e.,Visual C++) and the expert shell(i.e., Intelligent Rules Element).

Analysis about the Initial Process of Learning Transfer in Computational Thinking Education (Computational Thinking 교육에서 나타난 초기 학습전이에 대한 분석)

  • The Goal of SW education is to improve computational thinking. Especially, non computer majors need to apply computational thinking to their problem solving in their fields after computational thinking class. In this paper, we verified what factors affect the improvement of computational thinking through mixed research method after teaching computational thinking to non major students. Also, we analysed the characteristics of initial learning transfer of computational thinking, and establish the reason about he validity and justification for non major in SW education. The result shows learning satisfaction, learning transfer motivation, and self-CT efficacy affect the perception about improvement of computational thinking. Also, we found that there is application of computational thinking was coming up with problem solving process because the initial learning transfer process of computational thinking has characteristics about concepts and practices of it in programming steps. The effectiveness and learning transfer process of computational thinking for non majors will give the validity and justification to teach SW education for all students.
