ISPH법을 이용한 2차원 비압축성 유체 유동의 수치시뮬레이션 기법 연구 (A Study on the Numerical Simulation Method of Two-dimensional Incompressible Fluid Flows using ISPH Method)

  • In SPH(Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics) method, the fluid has been assumed that it is weakly compressible to solve the basic equations composed of Navier-Stokes equations and continuity equation. That leads to some drawbacks such as non-physical pressure fluctuations and a restriction as like small time steps in computation. In this study, to improve these problems we assume that the fluid is incompressible and the velocity-pressure coupling problem is solved by a projection method(that is, by ISPH method). The two-dimensional computation results of dam breaking and gravitational wave generation are respectively compared with the results of finite volume method and analytical method to confirm the accuracy of the present numerical computation technique. And, the agreements are comparatively acceptable. Subsequently, the green water simulations of a two-dimensional fixed barge are carried out to inspect the possibility of practical application to ship hydrodynamics, those correspond to one of the violent free surface motions with impact loads. The agreement between the experimental data and the present computational results is also comparatively good.

  • JPEG 2000 알고리즘은 기존의 정지영상 압축 PEG 알고리즘에서 발생하는 블록화 현상의 문제점을 해결하였지만, 압축 율과 이미지 복원율을 높이기 위한 과정이 복잡해 졌고 부동소수점의 연산 시간이 많이 걸리는 단점을 가지고 있다. 이 단점을 보완하기 위하여 본 논문은 JPEG 2000 알고리즘의 부동소수점 연산이 많은 필터 부분을 하드웨어로 구현하였다. 이 DWT Filter[1] 칩은 Daubechies 9/7 filter[6]을 기반으로 설계되었고 성능과 크기(반도체 숫자)를 최적화하기 위해서 3 단계 파이프라인 시스템으로 구성되었다. 본 논문에서 설계한 Filter는 소프트웨어로 구현된 것보다 부동 소수점의 연산에서 7배 정도 성능이 향상되었다.

  • An combined implicit/explicit scheme for the analysis of sheet forming problems has been proposed in this work. In finite element simulation of sheet metal forming processes, the robustness and stability of computation are important requirements since the computation time and convergency become major points of consideration besides the solution accuracy due to the complexity of geometry and boundary conditions. The implicit scheme dmploys a more reliable and rigorous scheme in considering the equilibrium at each step of deformation, while in the explict scheme the problem of convergency is elimented at thecost of solution accuracy. The explicit approach and the implicit approach have merits and demerits, respectively. In order to combine the merits of these two methods a step-wise combined implici/explicit scheme has been developed. In the present work, the rigid-plastic finite element method using bending energy augmented membraneelements(BEAM)(1) is employed for computation. Computations are carried out for some typical sheet forming examples by implicit, combined implicit/explicit schemes including deep drawing of an oil pan, front fender and fuel tank. From the comparison between the methods the advantages and disadvantages of the methods are discussed.

Theorema 시스템을 응용한 TI-92 메뉴얼 생성기 개발 (Development of a TI-92 Manual Generator Based on the Theorema System)

  • 알고리즘을 컴퓨터로 구현하여 수식 입력에 대한 출력을 과정없이 보여주는 프로그램이 컴퓨터 대수 시스템이다. 이 시스템에 연역적 추론을 자동화하는 과정을 수행하는 자동 연역 시스템을 결합하는 시도로 구현된 것이 Theorema 시스템이다. 오스트리아의 RISC 연구소에서 개발된 이 시스템은 Mathematica의 rewriting 기법을 사용하여 구현되었는데, 계산과 문제 해결, 증명을 할 수 있는 모드를 지원하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 계산 모드의 Theorema 언어를 구사하여 TI-92 그래픽 계산기에 탑재된 Derive 시스템의 일부를 시뮬레이션한 결과를 토대로 TI-92 메뉴얼을 Mathematica notebook의 형태로 생성하는 도구를 개발한 내용을 소대한다. 또한, 이렇게 하여 생성된 매뉴얼이 자바 서브릿을 통하여 웹기반 학습용 인터페이스로 연계되는 일련의 과정을 제시한다.

An Efficient Brownian Motion Simulation Method for the Conductivity of a Digitized Composite Medium

  • We use the first-passage-time formulation by Torquato, Kim and Cule [J. Appl. Phys., Vol. 85, pp. 1560∼1571 (1999) ], which makes use of the first-passage region in association with the diffusion tracer's Brownian movement, and develop a new efficient Brownian motion simulation method to compute the effective conductivity of digitized composite media. By using the new method, one can remarkably enhance the speed of the Brownian walkers sampling the medium and thus reduce the computation time. In the new method, we specifically choose the first-passage regions such that they coincide with two, four, or eight digitizing units according to the dimensionality of the composite medium and the local configurations around the Brownian walkers. We first obtain explicit solutions for the relevant first-passage-time equations in two-and three-dimensions. We then apply the new method to solve the illustrative benchmark problem of estimating the effective conductivities of the checkerboard-shaped composite media. for both periodic and random configurations. Simulation results show that the new method can reduce the computation time about by an order of magnitude.

  • In rigid-plastic finite element method, there is a heavy computation time and convergence problem. In this study, static-explicit rigid-plastic finite element method will be introduced. This method is the way that restrict the convergence interval. It is expected that various results from the numerical analysis will give very useful information for the design of tools in sheet metal forming process.

병렬 타부 탐색법을 이용한 대규모의 발전기 기동정지계획 (Large Scale Unit Commitment Using Parallel Tabu Search)

  • This paper proposes a method of solving a unit commitment problem using parallel tabu search(PTS) approach. Tabu search is a heuristic optimization method that has the tabu list to control the search process. To improve the searching ability of a global solution, we used a method of exchanging solutions among connected processors as a diversification strategy, and to reduce the computation time, a new evaluating method was proposed which evaluates only a changed par. To show the usefulness of the proposed method, we simulated for 10 units system and 110 units system. Numerical results show improvements in the generation costs and the computation time compared with other conventional methods.

  • Genetic Algorithm(GA), that is shown stable performance to find an optimal solution, has been used as a method of solving large-scaled optimization problems with complex constraints in various applications. Since it takes so much time to execute a long computation process for iterative evolution and adaptation. In this paper, a hardware-based adaptive GA was proposed to reduce the serious computation time of the evolutionary process and to improve the accuracy of convergence to optimal solution. The proposed GA, based on steady-state model among continuos generation model, performs an adaptive mutation process with consideration of the evolution flow and the population diversity. The drawback of the GA, premature convergence, was solved by the proposed adaptation. The Performance improvement of convergence accuracy for some kinds of problem and condition reached to 5-100% with equivalent convergence speed to high-speed algorithm. The proposed adaptive GAP(Genetic Algorithm Processor) was implemented on FPGA device Xilinx XCV2000E of EHW board for face recognition.

  • 본 연구는 수면변화의 전파특성을 이용한 4점법(four-point method of characteristics)의 선형화이론을 개수로의 불정류해석에 적용하는 문제와 관련하여, 직사각형 만입에서 본 해석모형에 대한 1차원 정진동 수치 검정실험을 실시하였고, 2차원 불정류의 해석에 있어서 안정성(stability) 문제에 대하여 검토하였다. 본 해석모형은 수위변화가 수심에 비해 충분히 작은 흐름의 경우에 효과적으로 간편하게 사용할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • An inverse finite element approach is employed for more capability to design the optimum blank shape from the desired final shape with small amount of computation time and effort. For multi-stage deep-drawing processes, numerical analysis is extremely difficult to carry out due to its complexities and convergence problem as well as tremendous computation time. In this paper, multi-stage finite element inverse analysis is applied to multi-stage rectangular cup drawing processes to calculate intermediate blank shapes and strain distributions in each stages. Finite element patches are used to describe arbitrary intermediate sliding constraint surfaces.
