  • In this study, in regard to concrete considering variety of admixture content rate, we evaluated property of adiabatic temperature rise. By setting up high temperature history, we evaluated effect to compression strength property of high strength concrete by early high temperature history. As a result, early high temperature history accelerated Hydration reaction of cement and contribute early strength development but it didn't accomplish performance objective in long-term aged.

  • Recently, The economic growth has increased carbon dioxide emissions. so, It is caused by social problem to environmental damage and human health due to global warming. Accordingly, The method solution is to the amount of cement and to use industrial by-product such as Blast furnace slag, Fly Ash, and Red-mud. Thus, The purpose of this study is to analyze the physical property of concrete with red-mud. So, this study carries out the basic performance test of concrete such as, air content, slump, and compressive strength. In this work test is conducted according to sequence of materials using concrete twin mixer.

  • The thermal and mechanical properties of compacted bentonite and bentonite-sand mixture were collected from the literatures and compiled. The thermal conductivity of bentonite is found to increase almost linearly with increasing dry density and water content of the bentonite. The specific heat can also be expressed as a function of water ontent, and the coefficient of thermal expansion is almost independent on the dry density. The logarithm of unconfined compressive strength and Young’s modulus of elasticity increase linearly with increasing dry density, and in the case of constant dry density, it can be fitted to a second order polynomial of water content. Also the unconfined compressive strength and Young’s modulus of elasticity of the bentonite-sand mixture decreases with increasing sand content. The Poisson’s ratio remains constant at the dry density higher than 1.6 Mg/m$_3$, and the shear strength increases with increasing dry density.

  • The special requirements of high-performance concrete(HPC) could be enhanced property over others such as compressive strength, durability, and construction practices. In order to satisfy these requirements a series of laboratory trial mixes and following mock-up test of reinforced concrete wall at field were performed in this study. The objective of this study was to quantitatively evaluate the workability, compressive strength, and the increased heat of hydration caused by the increase of the specific weight of cement according to various variables. Six example series designed about a minimum compressive strength of 500kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 28 days, and an approximately slump and slump flow of 25cm and 60cm respectively were tested. The selection process of the specific weight of water and the percentage of fly-ash transposition determined to be most suitable for the production of HPC is presented in the following paper.

  • In order to evaluate the structural integrity of a GFRP composite bogie frame due to flying railway ballast, the low velocity impact test and compressive test after impact was conducted for glass fiber/epoxy 4-harness satin woven laminate composites applied to skin part of a bogie frame. The impact test was performed using a instrumented impact testing system with energy levels of 5J, 10J and 20J and the designed impactor based on typical railway ballast shapes such as sphere, cube and cone to simulate the ballasted track environments. The compressive strength was tested to according to ASTM D7137 to evaluate the degradation of mechanical property of impact damaged laminate composites. The results showed that the damage area and the degradation of compressive strength after impact for laminate composites was increased with increase in impact energy for all ballast shapes and was particularly most influenced by cone ballast shape.

  • The objective of this research is to examine whether the determination of development length for high strength concrete by the ACI Building Code 318-95 could be applied and the upped limit of compressive strength, 700kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ is suitable. Eight beam specimens were tested. Each beam was designed to include two bars in tension, spliced at the center of the span. The beams were loaded in positive bending with the splice in a constant moment region. The variables used here were compressive strength and the space of stirrup within splice length. The results indicated that for (c$\div$Ktr)/db of the range of 1.5-2.0 compressive strength up to 800kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ is acceptable with regard to bond strength and ductility, thus the limit of compressive strength in ACI 318-95 may be extended to 800kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$.

  • In this study, we investigated compressive characteristics of seawater-absorbed carbon-epoxy composite under hydrostatic pressure environment. The hydrostatic pressures applied were 0.1 MPa, 100 MPa, 200 MPa, and 270 MPa. The results showed that the compressive elastic modulus increased about 10 % as the hydrostatic pressure increased from 0.1 MPa to 200 MPa. The modulus increased 2.3 % more as the pressure increased to 270 MPa. Fracture strength and fracture strain increased with pressure in a linear fashion. Fracture strength increased 28 % and fracture strain increased 8.5 % as the hydrostatic pressure increased from 0.1 MPa to 270 MPa.

  • We experimented the physical property of the porous concrete by changing the water cement ratio, when the aggregate ratios are 1:5 and 1:7 separately. And then we received the results as follows. The bigger, the coarse grading of the porous concrete is, the more sensitive to the water cement ratio, the porous concrete becomes. And if we think over its compressive strength, the coarse aggregate which has 5-15mm width is most appropriate. So we concluded that when its compressive strength, permeability coefficient and its unit weight are $50kg/cm^{2}3cm/sec$ and $1900kg/m^{3}$ respectively, the water cement ratio which has 35-37% width is most appropriate, too. And its compressive strength and unit weight show that they are about a quarter and three quarters respectively about the conventional concrete.

  • In this study the compressive strength data were collected from readymix concrete plants, and the analysis result showed that when using AD test the concrete of 24MPa is suitable than that of 21MPa for normal distribution. The prediction formula for average compressive strength were proposed to $f_{cu}=f_{ck}+4(MPa)$. When comparing the proposed equations and existing relationship, the estimation variations of elastic modulus and creep modulus were not significant. The proposed equation confirmed that there was no effect to the influence function for modulus of elasticity and creep. Therefore, it was concluded that the proposed equation could replace the exiting interaction formula.

  • This paper investigates prediction models estimating the hydration properties of concrete, such as the compressive strength, the splitting tensile strength, the elastic modulus, and the autogenous shrinkage. A prediction model is suggested on the basis of an equation that is formulated to predict the compressive strength. Based on the assumption that the apparent activation energy is a characteristic property of concrete, a prediction model for the compressive strength is applied to hydration-related properties. The hydration properties predicted by the model are compared with experimental results, and it is concluded that the prediction model properly estimates the splitting tensile strength, elastic modulus, and autogenous shrinkage as well as the compressive strength of concrete.
