  • This study compared the radiation transmission and image quality of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), polycarbonate (PC), and carbon, which are common components of the compression plates currently used during breast imaging. In addition to measuring the transmitted dose and the intensity without the use of a compression paddle, the four different compression paddles were evaluated according to the material and thickness of each paddle. Radiation transmittance, maximum intensity, and plot profile type w ere all evaluated for each material, and for each factor evaluated the follow ing order w as noted, from best to w orst: carbon 4 mm, PMMA 3 mm, PMMA 4 mm, and PC 4 mm. It is necessary to study a variety of materials and thicknesses in order to find the optimal combination of material and thickness, because not only does the material have a large influence in reducing the radiation exposure during mammography, but the thickness of the compression plate also has a great influence.

  • The aim of this study is to measure the application of prone compression study using compression paddle for obese patients in upper gastrointestinal series. Prone compression study using compression paddle was performed in fifty patients, who were not examined completely erect compression study for obesity. The radiographs of stomach were classified into the lower, middle, and high body and then we gave five points included 'very poor', 'poor', 'suspicious', 'good', and 'complete' according to level of detection for area gastrica and mucosal fold. Statistic analysis was performed using T-test and ANOVA, and confidence rate was fixed in 95%(P<0.05) for the significance. The results were as follows : 1. The compression marks on high body was 'poor' grades in erect and prone compression study. The points were 1.64 and 1.86, respectively. 2. The compression marks on middle body was 1.68 in erect compression study, and 'suspicious' in prone compression study. 3. The compression marks on lower body was 'poor' in erect compression study, and 'good' in prone compression study. 4. There was a high statistic signification between the two study on middle and lower body except for high body(P<0.01). 5. The average abdominal thickness of subjects was 23.98 centimeter. There was no statistic signification between the difference of average marks by the abdominal thickness(P>0.05). As these results, the prone compression study in upper gastrointestinal serie seem to be an useful study for obese patients, because it decreases pain and the feeling of uneasiness, and improve compression efficiency remarkably.

  • Mammography improves image quality that is on the increase day by day and get a picture with the pressure it is essential to reduce the dose. However, because due to the thickness of the cuff itself may increase the dose scattering lines is necessary study on the cuff material. Material that is currently being used in clinical Polycarbonate is a plastic and family. If you try to reduce the exposure of patients than itgie need to consider for the better material in this study to compare against a radiolucent line for amorphous plastic material of the plastic. results radiolucent and half layer, transmitting dose Pixel values HIPS, GPPS, ABS, Tritan, PC, PMMA showed high results in the net.

  • Matrix tablets of nifedipine (NP) were prepared with Eudragit, diluent (lactose or Ca. phosphate) and Mg. stearate employing two different preparation methods (wet granulation and direct compression) to develop its sustained-release dosage forms. The effects of various formulation factors on the dissolution rate of the drug were investigated. Dissolution test was studied in pH 6.8 phosphate buffer containing 1% sodium lauryl sulfate using the paddle method. Formulation factors were the type and content of Eudragit, the type of diluent and the tablet preparation method. The optimum formula of NP matrix tablet, which resulted in a similar dissolution profile to that from Adalat Oros used as a reference, was 30 mg NP, 10% Eudragit RS, 2% Mg. stearate and an adequate quantity of lactose to yield 500 mg weight using the wet granulation method.

  • Mammoplasty is currently increasing not only for cosmetic surgery, but as well as for the recovery after breast cancer surgery. The prostheses inserted into the breasts of women who have undergone mammoplasty, hide the breast substances and it is becoming increasingly difficult to diagnose breast disease, and fear is growing by the concern of the prostheses bursting by the strap. So we want to develop a strap applicable to women with prostheses inserted, to determine the usefulness, and we also want to compare the utility by comparing the total area of the Inner and Outer parts of the breast and Posterior Nipple Line (PNL), after obtaining video by applying the existing strap and the developed strap to phantom of the prostheses inserted patient shape. When the pressure by the developed pressure, the total area increased by 10.09% from CC view to $9,813.797mm^2$, 3.88% from CC-ID view to $7,621.531mm^2$, PNL increased by 3.41% from CC view to $90.916mm^2$, 1.64% from CC-ID view to$75.357mm^2$. And the breast tissue of the thorax side increased 3.53% from CC view to $177.725mm^2$, and 6.57% from CC-ID view to $152.510mm^2$, and we could verify that the prostheses were completely eliminated in the CC-ID images of developed strap, compared with the existing strap.

Also the image quality by image analysis to obtain the following results are below: Unfors Xi dosimetry using radiation transmittance when the results of 8.353mGy is measured after removal of the cuff, the PC 6.308mGy, PMMA 6.223mGy, Carbon 7.218mGy were measured respectively. Semi-layer PC 0.375mmAl, PMMA 0.370mmAl, with Carbon 0.360mmAl Carbon, PC, PMMA was higher radiation properties and transparency in order. InLight / OSL NanoDotTM dosimeter was used in the cuff and then removed by placing the dosimeter measured results center on 1.143mGy, at the edge 12.56mGy, on the central PC 8.990mGy, at the edge 10.291mGy, PMMA center on 8.391mGy, the edge 9.654mGy, on Carbon center 9.581mGy, 11.313 mGy were measured at the edge of Carbon, PC, PMMA showed a high permeability in order. Image Pixel average J is then removed from the cuff 976.655, PC 831.032, PMMA 819.069, Carbon 897.118 Carbon, PC, PMMA was measured by high order.

  • Biphenyl dimethyl dicarboxylate (DDB) has been used for the treatment of acute and chronic hepatitis. However, its poor solubility in water, $2.5\;{\mu}g/ml$, caused low bioavailability of the drug after its oral administration. In order to increase the dissolution of DDB in gastrointestinal tracts, consequently to increase the bioavailability of the drug, DDB tablet was prepared with solid dispersion of DDB with poloxamer 338 or 407 using a direct compression method. To improve the flowability of the solid dispersion, Aerosil was used as an adsorbent. The effect of formulation variables (poloxamer and Aerosil contents) on the dissolution rate of DDB from tablets was investigated using an analysis of variance. The dissolution rate of DDB from tablets was evaluated with KP II (paddle) method. The dissolution patterns of the drug from the tablet prepared with poloxamer 407 were affected significantly by the contents of poloxamers and Aerosil over the range employed, but those of the drug from the tablet prepared with poloxamer 338 were not. The optimum formulation of the DDB tablet, showed the same dissolution pattern as that of the reference, was obtained after polynomial equations of drug dissolution profiles for each formula were fitted to contour plots. The optimum formulation ratios of DDB:poloxamer 407:Aerosil were 1:2.5:2.5 and 1:5:5.
