In this study, reduced graphene oxide/polyaniline composite was fabricated tomaximize their advantages with electrochemical performances and use as a electrodematerial for supercapcaitor. Polyaniline as an electrode material was synthesized bychemical polymerization of aniline monomer and reduced graphene oxide wasintroduced to prepare composite with polyaniline without any pre-treatment. Thereduced graphene oxide, polyaniline and their composite electrodes were fabricatedon gold coated PET(polyethylene terephthalate) substrate through spray coatingmethod which can also apply to industrial scale. we have also prepared reducedgraphene oxide and polyaniline single material electrode to compare theirelectrochemical properties with reduced graphene oxide/polyaniline composite electrode. We have analyzed and compared electrochemical properties of eachelectrodes by using cyclic voltammetry(CV), galvanostaticcharge-discharge(GCD) and electrochemical impedancespectroscopy(EIS) at same condition. As a result, reduced graphene oxide /polyaniline composite electrode showed higher capacitance value more thanpolyaniline and reduced graphene oxide electrode, respectively. Internal resistanceof reduce graphene oxide/polyaniline composite electrode was 24% and 58% lessthan polaniline and reduced graphene oxide electrode respectively. These resultsconsidered that reduced graphene oxide/polyaniline composite electrode has potential ability and enable to apply flexible energy storage and wearable devices.
A solid state Hg(Au)/HgO reference electrode was prepared utilizing gold amalgam solid particles. Solid fine powder of the gold amalgam was prepared by chemical reduction of Au(III) with NaBH4 followed by reduction of Hg(II) in the presence of gold fine particles. The solid content in the suspension of the gold amalgam particles and fine mercury oxide particles in DMF containing PVC was precipitated by the addition of a large amount of water to give solid Hg(Au)/HgO/PVC mixture. After drying, the mixture was pressure-molded to a physically stable Hg(Au)/HgO composite reference electrode material. The electrochemical characteristics of the electrode as a reference electrode were very similar to an ordinary Hg/HgO reference electrode. The electrode material can be molded and fabricated in any desired shape and size. The surface can be renewed by a simple polishing process whenever contaminated or deactivated. The applicability of the electrode in the electrochemical detection of carbohydrates after anion exchange separation was evaluated.
Performance of direct methanol fuel cell using high porous active carbon as an uncatalysed diffusion layer in anode (composite electrode) has been evaluated. Effects of porous active carbon in anode were investigated by galvanostatic method and Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy. The single cell was operated with 2.5 M methanol at temperature of $80-120^{\circ}C$ and showed performance of $210-510\;mA/cm^2$ at 0.4V. By replacing conventional electrode with composite electrode, the increment of $290\;mA/cm^2$ in current density was obtained at $90^{\circ}C$and 0.4V. The potential decay of the single cell was about 14.5% for 20 days operation.
Among various fuel cells, solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) offer the highest energy efficiency, when taking into account the thermal recycling of waste heat at high temperature. However, the highest efficiency and lowest pollution for a SOFC can be achieved through the sophisticated control of its constituent components such as electrodes, electrolytes, interconnects and sealing materials. The electrochemical conversion efficiency of a SOFC is particularly dependent upon the performance of its electrode materials. The electrode materials should meet highly stringent requirements to optimize cell performance. In particular, both mass and charge transport should easily occur simultaneously through the electrode structure. Matter transport or charge transport is critically related to the configuration and spatial disposition of the three constituent phases of a composite electrode, which are the ionic conducting phase, electronic conducting phase, and the pores. The current work places special emphasis on the quantification of this complex microstructure of composite electrodes. Digitized images are exploited in order to obtain the quantitative microstructural information, i.e., the size distributions and interconnectivities of each constituent component. This work reports regarding zirconia-based composite electrodes.

Ni-PTFE composite plated on graphite (C/Ni-PTFE) and PTFE (PTFE/Ni-PTFE) particles were prepared uniformly by electroless composite plating. The conductivity of C/Ni-PTFE particles was 280 S/m higher than 95 S/m of PTFE/Ni-PTFE particles at same composite plating condition (Ni:35~36 wt%, PTFE:8 wt%). The C/Ni-PTFE particles were formed into the C/Ni-PTFE plate using heat treatment at $350^{\circ}C$ under 10~$1000\;kg/cm^2$. The C/Ni-PTFE plate showed 1) high conductivity of $5.7\;{\times}\;10^4\;S/m$ due to the existence of graphite as conducting aid and the formation of 3-dimensional Ni network 2) good gas diffusion caused by various pore volumes (0.01~$100\;{\mu}m$) in the plate. The plate could be useful for an electrode in an alkaline fuel cell (AFC). The current density of C/Ni-PTFE electrode indicated $84\;mA/cm^2$ at 0.3V and it was 3.0 times higher than that of PTFE/Ni-PTFE electrode.

A liquid nitrogen ($LN_2$) is usually used to be a coolant and insulant for a HTS coil system. HTS wires for a superconducting apparatus may be surrounded by gaseous nitrogen ($GN_2$) due to film boiling generated by a quench or voids occurred by electrical breakdown. The increased maximum electric field intensity at $GN_2$ may result in the degradation of dielectric strength of a HTS coil system. In this paper, a study on the dielectric characteristics of a composite insulation system composed of $LN_2$ and $GN_2$ is performed. A sphere-to-plane electrode system made with stainless steel is used to perform the experiments under AC and lightning impulse voltage condition. A sphere electrode is surrounded by $GN_2$ and a plane electrode is immersed into $LN_2$ to conduct dielectric experiments with a composite insulation system. The dielectric experiments are performed according to the level of $LN_2$ from the plane electrode to a sphere electrode. It is found that the dielectric characteristics of a composite insulation system are dependent on the level of $LN_2$ and the field utilization factor of an electrode system.
Desalination effects of Capacitive deionization(CDI) process using activated carbon $TiO_2$ composite electrode. In this study, we made the activated carbon electrod and activated carbon $TiO_2$ composite electrode, which analysed at cyclic voltammetry and charge-discharge. The results measured for discharge capacitance in cyclic voltammetry were 125 F/g in activated carbon electrode and capacitance of activatd carbon composite electrode was increased about two time, 243 F/g. The $TiO_2$ content of activated carbon composite electrode was 10 wt.%. When it was added wtih TiO2, electric double layer adsorption content was increased, so it was increased 25% in ion removal ratio of activated carbon electrode.
Composite electrode consisting of carbon nanofiber (CNF) and cobalt oxide was prepared for supercapacitor electrode, and its electrochemical property was investigated by means of cyclic voltammetry. Cyclic voltammetric results for the composite electrode showed it had specific capacitance value of 420 F/g at 5 mV/s, which was higher than capacitance value of 180 F/g for the bare CNF. It is concluded that the capacitive property of CNF can be improved by coating cobalt oxide on it to increase the surface area of cobalt oxide.

A new type of supercapacitor was constructed by using carbon nanofibers (CNFs) and DAAQ (l,5-diaminoanthraquinone) oligomer. DAAQ was deposited on the carbon nanofibers by chemical polymerization with ammonium peroxodisulfate (($NH_4)_2S_2O_8$) as oxidant in the 0.1 M $H_2SO_4$. Polymerization reaction was carried out with constant sonication. From the analysis, it is clear that surface of carbon nanofibers was quite uniformly coated with DAAQ. The performance characteristics of the supercapacitors have been evaluated using Cyclic Voltammetry. CNFs/DAAQ based composite electrode showed relatively good electrochemical behaviors in acidic electrolyte system. CNFs/DAAQ composite electrode showed relatively good capacitance (7 Ah/kg) compared to conventional capacitors in the range of $-0.4\~0.4$.
We investigated the electrochemical behavior of an electrode coated with a nickel hexacyanoferrate/graphene oxide (NiPB/GO) composite to evaluate its potential use for the electrochemical separation of radioactive Cs as a promising approach for reducing secondary Cs waste after decontamination. The NiPB/GO-modified electrode showed electrochemically switched ion exchange capability with excellent selectivity for Cs over other alkali metals. Furthermore, the repetitive ion insertion and desertion test for assessing the electrode stability showed that the electrochemical ion exchange capacity of the NiPB/GO-modified electrode increased further with potential cycling in 1 M of $NaNO_3$. In particular, this electrochemical treatment enhanced Cs uptake by nearly two times compared to that of NiPB/GO and still retained the ion selectivity of NiPB, suggesting that the electrochemically treated NiPB/GO composite shows promise for nuclear wastewater treatment.
