Preparation and Characterization of Mesophase Pitches as a Matrix Precursor of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Carbon Composite (탄소/탄소 복합재 매트릭스 전구체로서의 메조페이스 핏치의 제조 및 특성에 관한 연구)

  • A study on mesophase pitch as a matrix precursor of carbon fiber reinforced carbon (C/C) composite has been recently presented. This study is concerned with the production of mesophase pitch as matrix precursors for C/C composite from coal tar pitch. A commercial coal tar pitch was heat-treated at 25$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours to remove low molecular weight fraction from the pitch then increasing the temperature of the pitch to between 350~45$0^{\circ}C$ to produce mesophase pitch. The pitch was continuously stirred during this time and nitrogen gas was continuously bubbled through the pitch. Spherical and bulk mesophases were formed in the pitch after heat-treatment,. Parent and mesophae pitches were characterized by elemental analysis coke yield solubi-lity in tetrahydrofuran and hexane and an optical microscopy to measure the mesiophase content. It was neces-sary to produce C/C composite that a mesophase pitch with about 30-40 vol% mesophase spherulites can be infiltrated into a fiber preform without a filter effect as a matrix precursor conditions. This condition was satisfied with mesophase pitch heat treated at 40$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours. The other heat treatment conditions showed the nuclei of mesophase or bulk mesophae which were not satisfied with the matix precursor condition.

고충전 polymer/ceramic composite에서 유전 특성의 mixing rule

  • 전자 산업의 발달로 인해 전자기기에 소형화, 경량화 및 다기능화가 요구되면서 고밀도화, 고집적화가 필요하게 되었다. 이와 같은 부품의 고집적화 기술로 최근 제시되고 있는 방법 중 하나는 ceramic powder로 구성된 유전층에 polymer를 infiltration시키고 cure 과정을 거쳐 소결공정 없이 유전층을 완성하는 것이다. 그리고 이 유전층을 layer 단위로 build up하는 방법을 이용하여 반복적으로 형성하는 기술이 연구되고 있다. 그러나 고충전된 polymer/ceramic composite에서 유전 특성은 기존에 알려진 저충전 구조에서의 mixing 이론을 따를 것인지에 대한 실증적인 연구는 이루어지지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 ceramic powder $Al_2O_3$를 이용하여 polymer의 함량을 최소화하여 paste 를 제조하고, 스크린 프린팅 방법으로 인쇄하여 ceramic layer를 제작하였다. 그리고 이 위에 polymer infiltration 과정을 동하여 고충전 ceramic/polymer composite layer를 제작하였다. 또한, $Al_2O_3$를 filter로 사용한 저충전 polymer/ceramic composite에서의 mixing rule과 비교하여 복합체의 유전 특성을 설명하였다.

Characteristics of Toluene Removal in a Biotrickling Filter with Zeolite/Polyethylene Composite Media (제올라이트/폴리에틸렌 복합 담체를 이용한 Biotrickling Filter에서 톨루엔 제거 특성)

  • This study was to investigate the removal characteristics of toluene in a gas stream by using a biotrickling filter packed with zeolite-contained polyethylene media. The specific surface area and the void fraction of the media were $500\;m^2/m^3$ and 82%. The surface roughness of the media was higher than that of pure polyethylene media. The toluene removal efficiency decreased with increasing the inlet toluene concentration and gas flow rate. The maximum elimination capacity of toluene in the biotrickling filter was $64\;g/m^3{\cdot}hr$. During 200 days operation, toluene removal efficiency was maintained from 90% to 98% until 167 days, hereafter, it was rapidly reduced with a rise in pressure drop due to an excess proliferation of biomass on the media. Pressure drop and removal capability of the biotrickling filter was fully recovered after backwashing.

  • In this paper, we proposed a nonlinear synthesis filter for noise reduction to reduce the effects of Gaussian noise and impulse noise. When the centralization of the local mask is judged to be Gaussian noise by the noise judgment, the weight value of the weight filter are applied differently according to the spatial weight filter and the pixel change by using the sample variance in the local mask. And if it is determined as the impulse noise, we proposed an algorithm that applies different weights of local histogram weight filter and standard median filter according to noise density of mask. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed filter algorithm, we used PSNR(peak signal to noise ratio) and compared existing methods and proposed filter algorithm in the mixed noise environment with Gaussian noise, impulsive noise, and two noises mixed.

Property Studies of PAN/PVdF Composite Nanofiber Manufactured from Electrospinning (전기방사법으로 제조된 PAN/PVdF 복합나노섬유의 특성연구)

  • In this paper, manufactured composite nanofiber by electrospinning that make spinning solvent according to weight of PAN/PVdF. PVdF content of composite nanofiber decreases, diameter of fiber decreased. Result that measure contact angle to confirm hydrophile property of PAN/PVdF composite nanofiber, PVdF content increases, could confirm that contact angle with water increases. After leave filter measurement sample for 25 hours in temperature of $40^{\circ}C$, humidity of 85%, result PAN/PVdF composite nanofiber that estimate efficiency could confirm that display performance of HEPA more than 99.95% and ULPA more than 99.999%. And fiber diameter is small, could confirm that filter performance increases. Tensile strength of bulk of PAN/PVdF composite nanofiber was 5-8MPa, expansion 100-300%. And strength and expansion could know that increase according as PVdF's content increases. Tensile strength was 3-8MPa degree after annealing PAN/PVdF composite nanofiber during 2 hours in 120t. Tensile strength was no change almost by annealing, and expansion could know that decrease.

  • Digital image processing is the technical area of processing and analysis with intellectual and efficient ways, which has been commercialized in a variety of applications. However, the noise is occurred in the image data with multiple reasons and various studies have been performed to eliminate the noise. Generally, the types of noise vary by causes and forms, and composite noise is the representative one. Hence, the modified switching filter to process by types of noise was suggested to eliminate composite noise in the image effectively and to have excellent characteristics of edge conservation.

Design of Digitalized SECAM Video Encoder with Modified Anti-cloche filter and SECAM Video Decoder with BPF and Error-free Square Root (개선된 Anti-cloche Filter와 BPF 그리고 오차가 없는 제곱근기를 사용한 SECAM Encoder와 Decoder의 설계)

  • In this raper, we propose the Sequentiel Couleur Avec Memoire or Sequential Color with Memory (SECAM) video encoder system using modified anti-cloche filters and the SECAM video decoder system using a band pass filter (BPF) and an error-free square root. The SECAM encoder requires an anti-cloche filter recommended by International Telecommunication Union-Recommendation (ITU-R) Broadcasting service Television (BT) 470. However, the design of the anti-cloche filter is difficult because the frequency response of the anti-cloche filter is very sharp around rejection-frequency area. So, we convert the filter into a hish pass filter (HPF) by shifting the rejection frequency of 4.286MHz to 0Hz frequency. The design of HPF becomes very easy, compared to that of the anti-cloche filter. The proposed decoder also uses an error-free square root, two differentiators and trigonometric functions to extract color-component information of Db and Dr accurately from frequency modulation (FM) signals in SECAM systems. Also, the BPF in decoder it used for removing color noise in chrominance and dividing CVBS into chrominance and luminance. The proposed systems are experimentally demonstrated with Altera FPGA APEX20KE EP20K1000EBC652-3 device and TV sets.

  • This paper presents a novel bandpass filter design method for suppressing spurious response in the GSM band and effectively reducing the overall size with the unbalanced-conditioned metamaterials. Compared to the conventional bandpass filters based on half-or quarter-wave resonators, the CRLH(composite right/left-handed) bandpass filter works excellently in harmonic-suppression by 40$\sim$50 dB and 80 %-miniaturization using the zero-order resonators bridged by Inductive-coupling Inverters suggested first time. The proposed technique, with the equivalent circuit and dispersion diagram, is validated by performance predictions and experiments.

  • A new type of second-order digital peaking filters for professional-quality digital audio system is proposed whose frequency response can be elaborately controlled throughout the composite structure of a standard band-pass filter and a 0-dB bypass gain. The proposed method for designing the peaking filter uses the Q-compensation technique to prevent the Q-distortion caused by the variation of the gain factor and is reduced into a compact form which is proper to the real-time implementation. Methods are examined for computing its coefficients, which are exact and very straightforward to compute with small amount of the system resources.

  • Dust filter membranes play a crucial role in human life and various industries, as they contribute to several important aspects of human health, safety, and environmental protection. This study presents the development of a polysulfone@polyphenylene sulfide/polytetrafluoroethylene (PSf@PPS/ePTFE) composite dust filter membrane with excellent thermal stability and adhesion properties for high-temperature conditions. FT-IR analysis confirms successful impregnation of PSf adhesive onto PPS fabric and interaction with ePTFE support. FE-SEM images reveal improved fiber interconnection and adhesion with increased PSf concentration. PSf@PPS/ePTFE-5 exhibits the most suitable porous structure. The composite membrane demonstrates exceptional thermal stability up to 400℃. Peel resistance tests show sufficient adhesion for dust filtration, ensuring reliable performance under tough, high-temperature conditions without compromising air permeability. This membrane offers promising potential for industrial applications. Further optimizations and applications can be explored.
