  • Decision-makers in ecological system and social system have complex interactions and relations. Such interactions and relations are not predefined but dynamically constructed. We consider what relation-s are constructed or destroyed and how the relations change. Therefore, we focus on the formation and collapse of relations as one of the emergent phenomena of social or ecological complex phenomena. Game theory is the best way of analyzing phenomena in terms of interactions. However, it is difficult to analyze the dynamical system by game theory. Consequently, we propose Selecting Game with agents as players based on game theory. In this model, the relations among agents are not predefined but constructed by selecting subgames. As a result, we confirmed that the entire relation among agents is constructed by the agents' changing partial relations and that the relations dynamically change.

  • The characterization of the complexation reaction of PVA and Al(III) ion at different pH and the sint-ering behaviour of UO2 containing the PVA-Al(III) complexes were investigated. Compared with pure PVA powder the complexed PVA-Al(III) powder had compacter shape and lower decomposition temperature The major phase of PVA-Al(III) complex decomposed at 90$0^{\circ}C$ was $\alpha$-Al2O3 The PVA-Al(III) complex formed at pH 9 had the lowest relative viscosity the highest Al content of 36% and the smallest particle size of 19${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ While the pure UO2 pellet appeared with bimodal one. The grain size of the pure UO2 pellet was 7${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ but that of the PVA-Al(III) complex added UO2 pellet was increased up to 36${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ The largest grain size was ob-tained when the PVA-Al(III) complex formed at pH9 was added and the PVA-Al(III) complex formed at pH 11 had the greatest effect on increasing pore size.

  • Inclusion complex formation of octyldimethl p-aminobenzoate with $\beta$-cyclodextrin in aqueous solution and in the solid state was studied by the solubility method, spectroscopic(UV, FT-lR) and X -ray diffractometry. The solid complex of octyldimethy p-aminobenzoate with $\beta$-cyclodextrin was obtained in molar ratio of 1 : 2(guest/host). A spatial relationship between host and guest molecule was clearly reflected in the magnitude of the apparent stability constant (K') and in the stoichiometry of the inclusion complex. Furthermore, a typical type Bs phase-solubility diagram was obtained for octyldimethyl p-aminobenzoate and p -cyclodextrin in water at $25^{\circ}C$. The results indicated that the solubility of the guest molecule was higher by the formation of $\beta$-cyclodextrin inclusion complex.

  • In this article, we synthesized an azo dye rotaxane containing bis(8-hydroxyquinoline) group and its polymeric metal complex with zinc. The azo dye rotaxane exhibits high pH sensitivity, solvatochromism and zinc (II) ion sensings in aqueous solution. These behaviors came from the tautomeric equilibrium between azo-hydrazone tautomers and the formation of extended conjugation. The structure of polymeric zinc complexed dye rotaxane was confirmed with NMR and FT-IR measurements. The existence of CD rings, provided by dye rotaxane formation, was found to be very beneficial in improving aqueous solubility of polymeric metal complex.

  • Nafion/basic polymer composite membranes were prepared to reduce the methanol crossover for the application of direct methanol fuel cell. The thermal and mechanical properties increased with increasing basic polymer contents due to the formation of complex via acid/basic interaction. The water uptake, proton conductivity, methanol permeability decreased with increasing basic polymer concentration by reduction of acidity associated with the formation of acid/base complex. The molecular effect on those properties was not considerable.

  • The mechanism of various spherical particles formation from wide range of tribo-systerns is suggested and deduced by the action of micro-explosion on the basis of the thermally-activated wear theory, in which the flash temperature at contact could be reached clearly upto the material molten temperature due to the secondary activation energy from the exothermic reactions involving lubricant thermo-decomposition, metals oxidation, hydrogen reactions and other possible complex thermo-reactions at the contacts. Various shapes of spherical particles generated from the tribosystem can be explained by the toroidal action of micro-explosion accompanied with the complex thermo-chemical reactions at the contact surfaces or sub-surfaces.

  • We have investigated the complex forming behavior of cucurbit[6]urils(CB6) and cucurbit[7]urils(CB7) with 7-diethylamino-4-methylcoumarin(C460) in water. The electronic absorption maximum of C460 shows bathochromic shift with the addition of CB7 and fluorescence intensity is greatly increased, while CB6 has no noticeable effects on the spectroscopic properties of C460. It is noted that CB7 interacts more strongly with C460 than CB6 does. Fluorescence lifetime also significantly increased for the CB7 complex, which is attributed to reduced polarity surrounding C460 and/or C460 being in a restricted environment. The stoichiometry for the complex formation determined from the fluorescence titration measurement indicates that 2:1 complex in which two CB7 molecules bind to C460 is formed. Thus, two step equilibrium processes are suggested for the complex formation and the binding constants are estimated. The semi-empirical electronic structures calculations indicate that C460 is not included in the CB7 cavity but interacts noncovalently with the portal carbonyls of CB7.

  • This paper addresses a decentralized observer-based output-feedback formation control problem for multiple unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs). The complex nonlinear model for a UUV is feedback-linearized. It is assumed that each UUV in the formation exploits only the information regarding itself and the immediate predecessor, which imposes structural constraints on the formation controller gain matrices. The design condition is presented as a two-stage linear matrix inequalities problem. The synthesized controller demonstrates its own advantages through a numerical example.
