A 1.25 GHz Low Power Multi-phase PLL Using Phase Interpolation between Two Complementary Clocks

  • A 1.25 GHz multi-phase phase-rotating PLL is proposed for oversampling CDR applications and implemented with a low power and small area. Eight equidistant clock phases are simultaneously adjusted by the phase interpolator inside the PLL. The phase interpolator uses only two complementary clocks from a VCO, but it can cover the whole range of phase from $0^{\circ}$ to $360^{\circ}$ with the help of a PFD timing controller. The output clock phases are digitally adjusted with the resolution of 25 ps and both INL and DNL are less than 0.44 LSB. The proposed PLL was implemented using a 110 nm CMOS technology. It consumes 3.36 mW from 1.2 V supply and occupies $0.047mm^2$. The $jitter_{rms}$ and $jitter_{pk-pk}$ of the output clock are 1.91 ps and 18 ps, respectively.

A Bibliometric Analysis of Acupuncture Treatment of Osteoarthritis over the past 20 Years: 2003-2022

  • This study uses bibliometric methods to analyze publications regarding the use of acupuncture in osteoarthritis over the past 20 years and presents an overview of global research trends. Publications related to acupuncture in osteoarthritis from 2003 to 2022 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection Database. An analysis of the extracted records was conducted according to their publication year, research area, journal title, country, organization, author, and keywords. The VOSviewer program was used to visualize the research trends on acupuncture in osteoarthritis. An analysis of 380 articles indicated a consistent increase in the use of acupuncture for osteoarthritis treatment over the past 20 years. Many articles have been published in research areas such as "integrative complementary medicine" and "general internal medicine." The most prolific journal was Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine. In terms of article publication, the most productive country and research organization were China and the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, respectively. The most frequently occurring keywords were "acupuncture," "knee osteoarthritis," and "pain." This study used a bibliometric analysis to provide an overview of global research trends on acupuncture in osteoarthritis. These findings may suggest the future direction of research on the treatment of acupuncture in osteoarthritis.

산업안전보건 분야의 UN 국제적 화학물질관리에 대한 전략적 접근(SAICM) 이행에 관한 연구 (A study on the implementation of UN SAICM in the occupational safety and health)

  • The purpose of SAICM (Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management) is to minimize the health and environmental hazards from the production and the consumption of chemicals by improving the chemicals management capability of developing countries and implementing a system of the risk assessment and the management based on the precautionary principle until 2020. To achieve this purpose, the UN has prescribed the principles, objectives and establishment of an action plan for the chemicals management strategy which must be carried out at international, local, and national levels, and requested the implementation of the Global Plan of Action (GPA) comprising of 273 recommendations in 36 work areas. SAICM is currently based on voluntary participation, but is expected to become the basic framework of international order in relation to chemicals management in the future. This study aims to analyze the practice in the occupational safety and health area relating to implement 273 recommendations of the GPA, and propose complementary measures for the system in order to provide political advices for establishing future plans to manage industrial chemicals. Twenty three areas of total 36 work areas and 161 items of 273 recommendations have relevance to occupational safety and health areas. We have found that, as a national implementation level, 157 of 161 industrial safety and health items are being implemented at a satisfactory level in regard to the implementation of the GPA, while 4 items, including the ratification of the ILO Conventions 170, 174, 184, and support for GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of chemicals) implementation of developing countries, require additional complementary measures for the system and operation.

차량용 지리조사 시스템의 효율성 분석 (Efficiency Analysis of Mobile Geographic Survey System)

  • 수치지형도 제작 공정에서 많은 시간이 요구되는 지리조사는 지형 지물에 대한 보완측량 및 속성조사 등으로 구성되어 있으며, 현장조사에 의존하고 있다. 선행 연구에서 현장조사와 후처리에 필요한 업무량을 감소시키기 위한 연구로 위치기반 영상을 사용하는 방안이 제시되었다. 본 연구에서는 선행연구의 결과를 참고하여 위치기반 영상을 획득하고 처리하기 위한 하드웨어와 소프트웨어를 개발하였다. 개발된 시스템을 이용하여 군지역과 시지역의 1/5,000 도엽에 대한 지리조사를 수행하여 그 성과를 평가하였다. 실험결과 차량용 지리조사 시스템을 이용하여 현장조사를 대부분 대체할 수 있으며, 시지역에서는 작업시간이 37.5% 감소되는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 차량의 진입이 안 되는 지역에 위치하거나 주차된 차량에 의해 가려진 지형 지물의 속성은 보완조사가 필요하였다.

SLURP모형의 증발산 모형에 대한 평가 (Evaluation of the Evapotranspiration Models in the SLURP Hydrological Model)

  • 수문 모형들은 물 순환에 있어서의 지표 성분을 모의하고 기후 변동이 수자원에 미치는 영향을 평가하는데 메커니즘을 제공한다. 이러한 모형들에 있어서 증발산량(Evapoanspiration, ET)은 매우 중요한 요소이다. 본 연구에서는 SLURP 모형에서 증발산량 산정을 위하여 제시하고 있는 FAO Penman-Monteith, Morton CRAE(Complementary Relationship Area Evapotranspiration), Spittlehouse-Black, Granger, the Linacre 등, 5 가지의 방법론이 일 하천유출량에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 각 증발산 방법과 SLURP 모형의 매개변수와의 민감도 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 본 논문에서는 SLURP 모형을 이용하여 용담댐 유역의 일 유출량을 모의할 경우 여러 증발산 모형 중 Morton CRAE 모형 이 가장 적합함을 확인하였다.

괘상원리에 기초한 도심재개발 경관의 이원관계의 해석 - 서울 공평구역을 사례로 - (An Interpretation of Dualistic Relationships in an Urban Renewal Landscape Based on the Iching Theory - the Case of Gongpyeong District in Seoul -)

  • This study tried to understand an ambiguous urban landscape through a relational context. Gongpyeong district, an urban renewal area in Seoul, was selected as the site of the case study because traditional and modern styles coexist in this district. The research method and processes are summarized as follows. First, the district, which has both a redeveloped environment and an inherent environment, was divided into Yin & Yang structures. Next, an effort was made to grasp the fundamental relational characteristics(external relationships) of each type through three aspects: physical environment, activities, and meaning. As a result, Yin characteristics were found in the redeveloped environment which has predominantly Yang characteristics. In many cases, advertising, which is a Yang element, was missing in the redeveloped area. On the other hand, in the inherent environment which has Yin characteristics in general, shabby appearances were evident in aspects beyond advertising, and Yang elements, were found from the viewpoint of the theory of place. On the basis of these results, new dualistic frameworks with respect to the functions were re-structured, and complementary characteristics (internal relationship) based on topological aspects were analyzed. Unlike the monotonous appearances found in large scale environments, a variety of spatial characteristics were found in the various small scale environments. This explains that the dualistic coexistence has made a contribution to the complementary attributes of urban landscape. This study has the following ramifications. Much research of urban landscapes that has used western methodology which employs analytic aspects. As a methodology of urban landscape research this study introduced Iching, which tries to understand phenomena in a relational context. In addition, this study expects that the profound understanding of urban environments and the detailed relationship through this framework will suggest a new approach to urban planning, design and management related to future urban environments.

무선 PAN 응용을 위한 FPGA 설계 및 SoC (FGPA Design and SoC Implementation for Wireless PAN Applications)

  • 본 논문에서는 KOINONIA 무선 개인 영역 네트워크 (WPAN: Wireless Personal Area Network) 표준을 프로그래밍 가능한 게이트 배열 (FPGA: Field-Programmable Gate Array)로 설계하고 시스템 온 칩 (SoC: System on Chip)으로 구현하였다. 변조부에서는 정진폭을 유지할 수 있도록 잉여 비트를 이용하여 부호화하였고, 수신부에서는 이 잉여 비트를 복호 하는데 사용함으로써 낮은 신호 대 잡음비 (SNR: Signal to Noise Ratio)에서도 동작이 가능하게 하였다. KOINONIA WPAN은 400만 게이트 급의 FPGA에서 44MHz이상으로 동작하였으며, 무선 주파수 (RF: Radio Frequency) 모듈과의 연동 실험에서는 최소 입력 전력 레벨 감도 (MIPLS: Minimum Input Power Level Sensitivity)가 -86dBm인 환경에서 SNR은 13dB, 패킷 오율 (PER: Packet Error Rate)은 1% 이하라는 높은 성능을 나타내었다. SoC 칩은 하이닉스 0.25um 상보 금속 산화 반도체 (CMOS: Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) 공정을 이용하였으며 면적은 $6.52mm{\times}6.92mm$이다.

Multi-parametric MRIs based assessment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Differentiation with Multi-scale ResNet

  • To explore an effective non-invasion medical imaging diagnostics approach for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), we propose a method based on adopting the multiple technologies with the multi-parametric data fusion, transfer learning, and multi-scale deep feature extraction. Firstly, to make full use of complementary and enhancing the contribution of different modalities viz. multi-parametric MRI images in the lesion diagnosis, we propose a data-level fusion strategy. Secondly, based on the fusion data as the input, the multi-scale residual neural network with SPP (Spatial Pyramid Pooling) is utilized for the discriminative feature representation learning. Thirdly, to mitigate the impact of the lack of training samples, we do the pre-training of the proposed multi-scale residual neural network model on the natural image dataset and the fine-tuning with the chosen multi-parametric MRI images as complementary data. The comparative experiment results on the dataset from the clinical cases show that our proposed approach by employing the multiple strategies achieves the highest accuracy of 0.847±0.023 in the classification problem on the HCC differentiation. In the problem of discriminating the HCC lesion from the non-tumor area, we achieve a good performance with accuracy, sensitivity, specificity and AUC (area under the ROC curve) being 0.981±0.002, 0.981±0.002, 0.991±0.007 and 0.999±0.0008, respectively.

겨우살이 암치료제의 임상의학적 중요성과 한의학적 겨우살이 약침제제 개발 및 적용 가능성에 관한 고찰 (The importance of clinical mistletoe cancer therapy and korean mistletoe pharmacopuncture preparation development and application possibility for oriental medicine)

  • Objectives : Mistletoe extracts have been in use for around 85 years, predominantly in the area of cancer therapy. Today mistletoe preparations are among the most prescribed drugs in cancer medicine, thus constituting a standard biological therapy in the area of oncology. The purpose of this study is to analyze the practical implications of mistletoe cancer therapy, their clinical status, their preparation techniques and companies. Contents : Mistletoe therapy for cancer has been developed within the context of anthroposophical medicine. One major effect of mistletoe extract is that it stimulates the immune system and cancer defences. In Germany, a total of eight different mistletoe preparations are available, five developed by Anthroposophic Medicine and three evolved from research in phytotherapy. Therapy always consists of an introductory phase in order to test the patient's tolerance, find the right dosage and choose the most suitable preparation. This paper covers the background of mistletoe medical plant materials, mistletoe therapy for cancer, the anthroposophical medicine and clinical research, the practical regulation of treatment, preparation of mistletoe drugs. Result & suggestion : Mistletoe extracts are a complementary teratment of cancer, widely used in intergrative cancer care. The study of the integration of korean mistletoe extracts to oriental cancer medicine, its development and feasibility in Korea are urgently needed. The products, substances, compositions of european mistletoe drugs are very similar to those of oriental medicine theory. Applying the mistletoe cancer therapy and its preparation techniques to oriental medicine, the herbal acupuncture preparation should be modernized and korean mistletoe products are to be developed. To this end, government and herbal acupuncture society need to interact each other for the development of oriental mistletoe cancer medicine.

초국가적 동아시아정체성에 대한 연령 및 세대코호트, 국가정체성의 효과분석 (Analysing the Effects of Age, Generational Cohorts, National Identity on Supranational Regional Identity)

  • 이 논문은 동아시아정체성에 영향을 미치는 연령 및 세대코호트(cohort)효과에 대해 분석한다. 또한 이 논문은 동아시아 지역정체성이 한국인이라는 국가정체성(national identity)의 정도와 어떠한 방식으로 연관되는가를 분석한다. 2008년 시카고국제문제협의회-동아시아연구원에서 실시한 한국인 여론조사 데이터에 대한 분석은 다음과 같은 흥미로운 경험적 발견을 제시한다. 연령이 높을수록 동아시아정체성의 정도가 더 강하게 나타나며, 국가정체성이 강할수록 강한 동아시아정체성을 지니는 경향이 있다. 이러한 경험적 발견은 서구를 대상으로 한 기존연구들의 발견과는 다른 패턴을 보이는 것이다. 첫째, 한국의 경우 젊은 층이 아니라 경제적 자원이 어느 정도 있는 연령층이 더 초국가정체성을 지닌다. 둘째, 일반적인 동북아공동체에 관한 연구의 논의와 다르게, 이 연구는 강한 국가정체성이 동아시아 지역정체성과 상보적(complementary)이라는 점을 제시한다. 이 연구는 동아시아지역통합의 이론적, 정책적 모색과 동아시아 지역 내 강한 민족주의의 관계에 대한 새로운 미시적 기초를 밝혀준다.
