Power Gain during Partial Shade Condition with Partial Shade Loss Compensation in Photovoltaic System

  • This paper presents an analysis of the power gain under partial shading conditions (PSC) when the partial shade loss is being compensated in photovoltaic(PV) system. To analyze the power gain, our study divides the mismatch loss into partial shade loss and operating point loss. Partial shade loss is defined as the power difference between a normal string and a partially shaded string at the maximum power point (MPP). Operating point loss is defined as the power loss due to the operating point shift while following the MPP of the PV array. Partial shading in a PV system affects the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control by creating multiple MPPs, which causes mismatch losses. Several MPPT algorithms have been suggested to solve the multiple MPP problems. Among these, mismatch compensation algorithms require additional power to compensate for the mismatch loss; however, these algorithms do not consider the gain or loss between the input power required for compensation and the increased output power obtained after compensation. This paper analyzes the power gain resulting from the partial shade loss compensation under PSC, using the V-P curve of the PV system, and verifies that power gain existence by simulation and experiment.

파장다중화 40 채널 광신호들의 2000 km 전송에서 링크구간 분산보상 (Comparison of link span dispersion compensation for optical 40 wavelength division multiplexing channels at 2000 km transmission)

  • 채널당 10 Gb/s 의 파장 다중화된 NRZ 광신호를 2000 km 까지 전송하면서 링크구간분산 보상 방법의 차이에 따른 성능 변화가 조사되었다. 1533.5 nm에서 1564.7 nm 사이에 100 GHz 의 주파수 간격을 가지는 40 채널의 파장 다중화 신호가 전송되었다. 링크구간 분산보상은 95%, 97.5%, 100%, 102.5% 그리고 105%가 비교되었으며 후치분산 보상이 없는 경우에는 97.5% 링크구간 분산 보상이 가장 좋은 성능을 가졌다. 총 링크거리의 누적분산 값과 링크구간당 평균분산 값의 비교를 통해 신호 성능에 미치는 분산 조건 변화의 영향을 분석하였다. 후치분산보상 최적화가 링크구간 분산보상과 함께 적용되었을 때는 102.5% 조건이 가장 좋은 결과를 보였으며 이 조건이 분산 효과와 채널간 상호 작용의 효과가 동시에 최소화되는 균형점임을 확인하였다.

  • This paper considers robust stability and transient behavior of the Two - Degree - of - Freedom(2DOF) servosystem. A class of uncertainties allowed in the plant model is obtained, to which the servosystem is robustly stable for any gain of the integral compensator. This result implies that if the plant uncertainty is the allowable set defined by the condition, a high - gain compensation can be carried out preserving stability to achieve a high - speed tracking response. The transient behavior attainable by the limit of the high - gain compensation is calculated using the singular perturbation approach.

  • Walking passenger injury accidents in and around stations have increased in recent years, and passengers are now more aware of being able to claim compensation for such accidents. Therefore, it is anticipated that station managers and owners will need to take measures to improve the condition of walking areas so that performance objectives are met an the compensation paid for passenger accidents is limited. The aim of this study covers the following: accidents statics and contributory factors, station flooring and footway material, guidance for flooring, and test methods for slipperiness and surface profile.

  • The paper describes the formulation of state matrix equations from the linearized multi-machine power system including network dynamics and the application of IEEE First Benchmark Model. The eigenvalues of IEEE First Benchmark Model are investigated not only by changing the compensation of series capacitance at no-load conditions, but also by varying the generator loading at fixed compensation of capacitance. In addition, the pure electrical self-excited mode is also examined by an eigen analysis and time domain simulation.

  • This paper proposes a design method of sliding mode observer for SISO linear systems with a disturbance input. We first construct an observer with a constant gain matrix, a feedforward injection map and an external feedforward compensation signal input. Using the second Lyapunov method, we present a sufficient condition for the existence of sliding mode observer. The proposed observer guarantees that the state error trajectories enter a certain region in finite time and remain inside thereafter.

  • This paper describes the bending traveling-wave type ultrasonic motor which generates the traveling wave by combining two standing waves with phase difference time and space. In +2$0^{\circ}C$~3$0^{\circ}C$, the operation characteristic of USM has represented normal condition. But in the other temperature, the operation characteristic of USM has abnormal condition, that is driving frequency, drive current and r.p.m are down. The recent USM has controller without temperature compensation. This study aimed at fuzzy controller which must follow the frequency at operation temperature and then r.p.m and torque increased.

A New Robust Digital Sliding Mode Control with Disturbance Observer for Uncertain Discrete Time Systems

  • In this paper, a new discrete variable structure controller based on a new sliding surface and discrete version of the disturbance observer is suggested for the control of uncertain linear systems. The reaching phase is completely removed by introducing a new proposed sliding surface. The discrete version of the disturbance observer is derived for the effective compensation of the effect of uncertainties and disturbances. A corresponding control input with the disturbance compensation is selected to guarantee the quasi sliding mode on the predetermined sliding surface for guaranteeing the designed output in the sliding surface from any initial condition to the origin for all the parameter variations and disturbances. By using Lyapunov function, the closed loop stability and the existence condition of the quasi sliding mode is proved. Finally, an illustrative example is presented to show the effectiveness of the algorithm.
