  • Eurostar 3000 AOCS is optimized for telecommunication mission with no strong requirement on attitude stability and has therefore to be upgraded to comply with COMS high stability requirements for the optical observations. This COMS configuration constraint induces specificities for the wheel. The aim of this analysis is to verify the electrical compatibility of the interfaces which exist between COMS wheels and external equipments. For each interface, this study checked the compatibility between equipments for the power links, commands, digital telemetry, analog telemetry, and failure condition or AIT errors. In addition with this interface compatibility verification, this study outputs electrical and manufacturing recommendations to be applied at harness level.

  • KT-1P for the Peru Air Force will be used as a utility aircraft with upgraded avionics equipment and arming capability based on KT-1 and KA-1. KT-1P should be shown for compatibility of new store loading configurations loaded with dispenser, bomb, and rocket based on aircraft-store compatibility test and evaluation procedures before KT-1P is operated as a light attack aircraft. The weapon system ground test for installation and flight test for envelope expansion including store separation are described in this paper, which was performed referring 'seek eagle program' under MIL-HDBK-1763 and MIL-HDBK-244A.

  • In this paper, to increase the research capability of flight missions and maintenance in operating military aircraft, we studied the requirements for additional mounting of flight video and data recorders and safety verification methods. The verification process of the recorder equipment itself, structural safety in the aircraft system, power and electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and impact of airworthiness are described in accordance with military standards and operating environment requirements. In addition, through ground/flight tests, the results of functional operation suitable for the influence and demand of interference between the flight video and data recorder and other systems are also presented.

  • Recently, a study has been progressed about the energy storage system for resolving energy shortage problems in the world. The energy storage system can maximize energy storage system's energy usage by monitoring and controlling about all energy infrastructures on energy network. However, compatibility problems among main components or devices of the energy storage system are obstacles to development of energy storage system products. An extensible profile and extensible profile verification software being able to verify the extensible profile have been required in order to resolve compatibility problems. In this paper, the study on complexity analysis for the extensible profile verification software for the energy storage system is performed. A XML based profile and C language structure based profile are used for analysis of the profile verification software. The complexity of complex verification structure that parses the XML based profile several times and simple verification structure that parses the C language structure based profile are analyzed and compared. Time complexity, space complexity, and cyclomatic complexity are used for complexity analysis. By using these complexity analysis, the study result that compares and analyzes the complexity of XML based and C language structure based profile verification software is presented.

  • This paper presents the simulation environment that verifies whether a new microprocessor described with HDL is compatible with MS-DOS. The phrase 'compatible with MS-DOS' means that the microprocessor can execute MS-DOS without any modification of MS-DOS's binary code. The proposed verification environment consists of HDL simulator and user interface module. And the communications between them are performed by using sockets which UNIXprovide. The HDL simulator is equipped with several functions, which use PLI to emulate ROM-BIOS facilities. The ROM-BIOS emulation routine is described by using these functions. User interface module utilizes S/MOTIF and participates in emulating PC monitor and keyboard. The verification environment is tested by executing the MS-DOS commands (DIR, FORMAT, DATE, TIME etc.) with the HDL model of microprocessor, and the display of user interface module verifies that the environment works correctly. In this paper, the method of constructing the verification environment is presented, and the simulation results are summarized.

  • Electromagnetic compatibility(EMC) performance of the first Korea space launch vehicle(KSLV-I) should be ensured and verified in order to guarantee the normal operation among the spacecraft, ground facilities which are installed in the space center, and other wireless communication networks. For the purpose of the EMC performance verification, pertinent EMC test specifications, methods, and procedures for both the subsystems and the system should be established in consideration of operational properties and electromagnetic environmental effects. And it is required to maintain and control the EMC properties consistently in accordance with the determined specifications up to the program closing phase. In this paper, sequential management work conducted during the overall development process of the KSLV-I is explained, and not only the phased EMC test plan for each model of the KSLV-I and its subsystem but also test method, specification, and results of the verification tests are presented. And also, multipaction analysis results are presented.

  • This paper is a part of research series for the verification of the proposed Moon/Lim design equation. An analytical study was performed to examine the relation between the flexural behavior and the unbonded tendon stress of PSC members. The strain compatibility assumption was used in this study since previous studies showed that the stress variations of tendon had a close relation with the member displacements. The proposed equation has been developed with the same assumption of strain compatibility. Therefore the analytical procedure with the strain compatibility assumption was developed to compute the member displacements of previous tests. Then the analytical results were compared with tests results. The comparison showed that the strain compatibility assumption can be properly applicable to the design equation. Based on the analytical results, the relation between the tendon stress and the member flexural behavior at ultimate was examined. A parametric study also carried out with regard to the member displacements. As results, the parameters used for the proposed equation were proven to be proper for the computation of tendon stress.

  • On the basis of the development of KSLV-1, KoDSat was designed and manufactured to demonstrate the performance of KSLV-1. KoDSat is exposed to a severe vibrational environment at launch. The structural reliability of KoDSat has to be verified using vibrational test. The structural compatibility and verification of components between analysis and test can be proved using environmental vibration test. In this paper, we review the structural characteristic of thruster control unit for a space launch vehicle and design TCU housing using mathematical model. In order to verify the structural compatibility and reliability, half-sine shock, random and sing sweep vibration test was performed. Especially, sing sweep vibration test result is compared with analysis result and mathematical model is verified.

  • We have studied elemental image compatibility between integral imaging(II) and parallax generation(PG) system for three-dimensional display. The elemental images of PG can be obtained by recombination of the elemental images picked up in II system. The theoretical verification and the experimental results show that the elemental images of PG are in correspondence with the elemental images of II system with proper transformation conditions.

  • Internal replaceable electronic module substitutions can impact EMC (ElectroMagnetic Compatibility) qualification testing and results if EMC testing is conducted at the cabinet level. The impact of component substitutions on EMC qualification results therefore should be evaluated. If a qualitative evaluation is not adequate to ensure that the modified product will not impact the cabinet level EMC qualification results, a new qualification testing should be conducted. Component level retesting should be conducted under electromagnetically equivalent conditions with the cabinet level test. This paper analyzes the propagation of conducted susceptibility test waveforms in a representative cabinet and evaluates the impact of component substitutions on cabinet level EMC qualification results according to the location of the replacement items. A guideline for a qualitative evaluation of the impact of component substitutions is described based on the propagation of the conducted susceptibility test waveforms. A module level test method is also described based on an analysis of the shielding effectiveness of the cabinet.
