In this paper, an efficient data compression algorithm for binary image is proposed. This algorithm makes use of the fact that boundaries contain all the information about such images. The compression efficiency is then further increased by efficient coding of Boundary Information Matrix. The comparison of performance with modified Huffman coding was made by a computer simulation with some images. The results of simulation showed that the proposed algorithm was more efficient than modified Huffman code.

In this paper, slack is computed from a comparison of the cable pay out rate and the ship ground speed in accordance with laying conditions, and the speed controller of the cable engine based on an H(sub)$\infty$ servo control id designed for adjusting the cable engine in order to lay a desired amount of slack. The controller is designed for robust tracking of the cable engine under disturbances. The performance of the designed controller is evaluated by computer simulation, and, consequently, a feasibility study for laying the submarine cable stably is done through analyzing simulation results.

Color simulation on a portable colorimeter was performed to distinguish quantitatively a chromaticity coordinates on a color guide of a urine strips by using the spectral power distribution of chip LED, the spectral reflectance of printed objects, and the spectral sensitivity of photodiode. The CIE tristimulus values and chromaticity coordinates realized by a colorimeter were modified to be conformable with real color reactions. Experimental results showed a real color in comparison with those obtained by Colorimeter CM2C(Color Savvy).

This paper presents the iterative procedure with the concept of expanded waves in the spectral and spatial domains using the fast modal algorithm. We presents its applications to microwave integrated circuits on resistive substrate. The advantage is a reduction in computation time. These calculated results are checked by comparison with the experimental and simulated results by Sonnet and Momentum program.

This paper presents a simple analytic method using 2D simulation program for predications of cutting force and machining temperature in dry type milling process. And also, comparison of cutting force and machining temperature obtained from experiment and simulation work is accomplished to distinguish of suitability.

Simulation and signal conditioning on the time domain surface elevation records are conducted to verify the proposed Welch's method in non-directional ocean wave spectrum analysis. These spectrum data are further conditioned to provide wave characteristic that better describe the sea states. Comparison of significant wave height and zero crossing period between the proposed method and a reference toolkit are presented.

The MDDA(Modified Dynamic Drainage Analyzer) was developed to evaluate the drainage at hydrofoil table roll and low vacuum devices on fourdrinier paper machine MB-former. Comparison of the results was obtained using a computer simulation system based on Taylor's equation and filtration equation and by measuring the consistency profile in a paper machine presented an agreement within 10.7% This device can evaluate the dewatering pro-file on wire for various stock properties adjust dewatering devices on fourdrinier paper machine and control the dosage of retention aids for improving paper structural properties and runnability of papermachine.

According to the computerization of railway signalling system, necessity of communication protocol for interface between these equipments is increasing. Therefore the research on communication protocol structure that is required according to computerization trend of these signalling goes. In our research the existed protocol currently used was analyzed, and the simulation modeling for performance analysis is deduced. Based on this simulation model the performance analysis and comparison is carried out, and also validation test is executed about new designed protocol.

This paper describes the NANDO VDC (Vehicle Dynamics Control) system for the vehicle stability enhancement and consists of the control strategies , computer simulation and tests on the various road surface. This VDC system controls the dynamic vehicle motion in the emergency situation such as the final oversteer/understeer andallows the vehicle to follow the course as desired by the driver. The system is based on an active yaw control and its performance verified by the test is shown. Also the comparison between the MANDO VDC System and a competitor is carried out.
