  • In general, the informations of the inner image that user interested in are limited to a special domain. In this paper, as using Wavelet Transform for dividing image into high frequency and low frequency, We can separate foreground including many data. After calculating object boundary of separated part, We extract special features using Color Coherence Vector. According to results of this experiment, the method of comparing data extracting foreground features is more effective than comparing data extracting features of entire image when we extract the image user interested in.

  • This study concerns with the comparing and evaluation for Signal - Noise Ratio of the quantitative signal factors in the measurement devices for developing efficiency for product system. On the basis of this conditions and purpose, this study presents a general procedure for deriving the Signal - Noise Ratio, confidence intervals and significiant testing for the measurement devices.

  • We describe a method for estimating new hand views from a single 2D hand image using decomposed approach with subgroup-based scheme. With this method, we can get the simplicity in the sense of computation by comparing the image with models in the promising subgroup instead of comparing with all models. It shows more effectiveness in recognition by process depend on each subgroup and easy of extension.

  • Some rank tests for comparing r treatments against ordered alternatives are proposed when some of data are randomly cemsored, which are the weighted logrank tests based on pairwise-ranking scheme. The covariances of the proposed test statistics are explicitly obtained from the results of the counting process theory and the test procedures are illustrated by a numerical example. Simulation studies are also performed for comparing with the other well-known tests.

  • In this paper we are concerned with comparing ordered treatment effects with a control in a randomized block design with multiple observations per cell. Two nonparametric procedures for detecting which treatment are better than the control are proposed and compared. An example is given and the results of a Monte Carlo power study are discussed.

  • As one of multi-class classification methods, ECOC (Error Correcting Output Coding) method is known to have low classification error rate. This paper aims at suggesting effective multi-class classification method (1) by comparing various encoding methods and decoding methods in ECOC method and (2) by comparing ECOC method and direct classification method. Both SVM (Support Vector Machine) and logistic regression model were used as binary classifiers in comparison.

  • In recent years, glassfibers have been used for strengthening in RC structure because of low material cost and easy repairing work. The purpose of this study is to experimentally and analytically investigate the effect of glassfibers for enhancing the capacity of RC flexural beams and shear beams. The experimental result shows that yield and ultimate strength of RC flexural beam with glassfibers are increased by approxiamate 13% and 26%, comparing with those for without glassfibers, and also ultimate strength of RC shear beam with glassfibers are increased by 34%, comparing with those for without glassfibers.

  • The pipe of CFRP for bicycle frame is designed and made for light weight of bicycle and then its suitability to bicycle frame is verified by comparing the other material i.e. steel, Cr-Mo steel, Al alloy pipe for bicycle frame. The pipe of CFRP is laminated to [0/$\pm$45]$_T$ and made by tape winding method and then its degree of light weight is evaluated by comparing the other pipes which is made by steel etc.

  • Nonparametric tests for comparing umbrella pattern treatment effects with a control in a one-way layout were studied in Chen and Wolfe (1993). In this paper we propose a modification that improves the power of the Chen-Wolfe test. The results of a Monte Carlo power study are discussed.

  • Oh (2009) has proposed a likelihood ratio test for comparing two agreements for dependent observations based on the concept of marginal homogeneity and marginal stochastic ordering. In this paper we consider the comparison of more than two agreement measures. Simple ordering and simple tree ordering among agreement measures are investigated. Some test procedures, including likelihood ratio test, are discussed.
